I have to check everything before leaving the house or going to bed. My mother did the same thing and I've always done it. My husband started doing it after we went on a road trip and found the doors unlocked when we got back. Nobody broke in but we left in such a hurry we didn't double check.

I just make sure the security door is locked every time I come inside. I very rarely lock the door. From April - September when it hot out, I don't use my stove. The kitchen is too hot from the sun on that side of the house all afternoon/evening.

You know what I found intriguing last night?

The guy that delivered my meds after 9pm last night turned the lock on the handle of my security screen and closed it, letting me know it's locked while I was still standing there looking in the bag to make sure everything was there.

I wasn't even thinking of my own safety.

Ask my dog why he took my pillow.

I live in a small community where most people know one another. Very minimal criminal activity but I still have to check the locks because I have so many fans going for noise I wouldn’t know if the army came in my house.
