I have a lot of questions/comment below, but they are all moot if the answer to this one is "yes": are you saying that Chyoa is unauthorized, that it isn't connected to Literotica, and that we are all hitchhikers who at any moment could see our hard work simply vanish with the touch of a button
Thus whatever Literotica decides regarding CHYOA and CHYOO is largely irrelevant to CHYOA's continued existence. If LitErotica wants to be the bad guys and gals, then all that LitErotica could rightfully demand to happen is www.chyoa.com to loose any mention or hyperlink to www.chyoo.com.
The mere act of putting your writing on the internet relinquishes control of said writing. For CHYOA at this moment, I think Friedman is the one with ultimate authority over CHYOA. Thus Friedman is the one in charge of that hypothetical 'button' you mention in describing your fear.
Since Laurel and Manu seem to be ignoring everyone and CHYOO's cries of distress for a couple months now; I am without any doubt they will continue right on ignoring everyone. Of course I am without a clue why they hate on chyoo so much but the proof is in the pudding so to speak.
Silence, is still a choice.
I would say "unreliable". I am happy to see more reliable folk taking the reigns instead.I don't know what I'd call this, but "ignored" is not one of the words that popped into my mind.
Hey go give Friedman some encouragement, he has been too quiet lately
He only does this in his free time. He's likely busy with real life and/or work. Let's not pester him needlessly.
My participation will be limited unless at least some of the stories I had adopted get transferred to me. These stories are abandoned by their original authors. These are also some of my favorite stories,
chyoa needs someone like Torg active on it. If he's adopted stories on chyoo, that's a pretty good indication he should be the owner on chyoa. Which begs the question of what the adoption policy for stories was during the transfer, and what it is now that the site is live?
At the moment only the owners / creators of the stories have access. With the update next week, however, the previous editors will get access too.
Noticed the tags thing on the front page. How does one add tags to there stories?
Today chyoa.com stopped receiving my additions. When I try to add a new thread it gives me the form, but when I submit it instead of conformation I get a white empty page.
It may have something to do with the optimized tree traversal algorithm. I'll look into it and get back to you.
Update: It should work for now.
It doesn't. Now it gives me Http 500 error.
Hey, so, love the re-design and all that. It's fantastic. However I have noticed one problem. It appears, unless I've just missed something, that it is impossible now to just link from one thread back to another one, and it seems like where I had done this in stories on the old site, those links have been broken. This seems like a pretty important function for writing a CYOA story, because it allows me to streamline branching stories quite a bit. As it stands, "Yet Another Highschool Story" is pretty busted. I don't care so much about the old stories, but it would be nice to have this feature going forward.
