It's a contest entry. It quite likely already has been truly trashed and that you'll be happy with it on April Fool's Day when the last sweep has been done.
Here's the latest (anon) comment on my entry:
<rant> ... I feel like this prank was pulled on the reader, even more than the main character.
Well, of course.
You're right! Lit readership does have frequent troubles with the fine line separating the two.You omitted the previous line of that comment, another gem: "I know that I'm applying real world logic to a porn story..."
That is certainly true. I got feedback from someone who insisted that I should write a second chapter for Fucky Friday, but that I shouldn't give the characters a happy ending, because that would be "unrealistic."You're right! Have submitted a story for the contest, and it's now been in pending for four days...I love writing for Literotica, but they don't make it easy for you. I fear this will be another story permanently "trapped in pending" (not rejected, not uploaded, just...pending), which is particularly frustrating when you've written it expressly for a promoted contest. All rules followed, and I now fear the story won't even make the deadline, despite entering it well in advance....Now that the Valentine's Day contest winners have been announced, (well... they will be) let's get the April Fools Competition Thread rolling:
April Fool's (April 01)
The themes: Stories (humorous or otherwise) of surprise meetings, humor, tricks, trick endings, and other themes of deception, chance, and/or misunderstandings (happy or otherwise)
Starts: March 02
Closes: March 23
Winners announced: March 30
As usual, this thread is to SUPPORT and ENCOURAGE authors to enter stories in the 2023 April Fool's Contest.
Get writing, everyone, and don't forget to copy and paste the phrase "APRIL FOOLS 2023" to the "Notes to Admin" field of the submission
As ChloeTzang said in the writeup for a previous April Fools Thread, many of us find this contest the most difficult of the year - but have a go.
There is an advantage to entering stories in one of Literotica's themed contests, apart from the possibility of winning, and that is that your story gets far more exposure and attention than it would normally do.
Some of that attention might be unwelcome, some abusive, but some could possibly be appreciative and helpful.
Wait for Laurel's notice of the start of the contest as a sticky at the top of the Authors' Hangout before submitting and follow the instructions in that thread.
Have fun everyone! And get started if you haven't already!!!!
GAME ON FOLKS! Here's the official notice:

Lately weekends have been horrible for pending stories to be noticed, but I suppose even the mighty must rest. Send a polite Direct message to Laurel that your story is pending and this is for a contest, be sure to title something similar. If you are unsure how this is done, click on the envelope at the top of this page and the message form comes up, type in Laurel as the recipient.Have submitted a story for the contest, and it's now been in pending for four days...I love writing for Literotica, but they don't make it easy for you. Thanks for your reply, Duleigh, much appreciated. I have already done sent a message, but have seen no response, nor any movement on the story. I will try messaging again, and will then resubmit the story. Thanks again for your support... Literotica is a great site, but it can also be a draining, disappointing source of frustration too. Many other authors seem to have this "trapped in pending" problem...Lately weekends have been horrible for pending stories to be noticed, but I suppose even the mighty must rest. It happens a little too frequently for my liking. I feel like it might be some kind of glitch in the submission system, though that's just a hunch, and not based on any real technical knowledge. I have messaged admin, but have received no response...but then, I have never received a response from admin, so no surprise...Yeah I've had a new story trapped in Pending for over a week now.
While I'm glad to know it's not just me, I do wonder what the problem might be.
Maybe the Admins just took a vacation or something.
You now have two stories live and listed as part of the contest. both "Oz Beach Boy..." titles. I don't know if you have yet another one still pending or not.And just to continue my rant... it's especially annoying when the site broadcasts the looming deadline for a competition - "Hurry up! Enter now!" - when your story written specifically for said competition is sitting in "pending" for five days!!!! Apologies, but yes, I am more than a little frustrated right now...
Thanks for your reply. My second story just went up after I pulled it from pending and resubmitted it via a new story form with a different title. Maybe that did the trick...You now have two stories live and listed as part of the contest. both "Oz Beach Boy..." titles. I don't know if you have yet another one still pending or not.
My contest entry just went live a few hours ago (Maddy Moo Cow, it's in Fetish, surprise surprise), it was pending for four days. It seems the period just before and during this weekend was either exceptionally busy or some other factor affected things. But, if contest entries have been expedited, anything not contest related might indeed be in for long waits.
The twist came out of nowhere. I don't mind having a twist and being fooled, but lead up to it. There was no indication that the husband was in on it. He just seemed oblivious and unconcerned. Some of the most fun stories to write have been AF stories with a surprise twist at the end. After writing a few over the years, I have come to realize that the readers frequently don’t like these twists. On my current story Kayla’s Charity Auction (https://www.literotica.com/s/kaylas-charity-auction) one comment opined if I wasn’t going to finish the story, I shouldn’t have posted it. I guess it is OK to fool a character, but don’t fool the reader.
Okay, maybe I misread it. Was the twist that she rigged it? If so, then I take back the objection about it being too sudden. You have an interesting take on the story but the husband wasn’t in on it. He tried to buy out the winner but was only partially successful. And earlier in the bidding he gave his wife the opportunity to bail at anytime. Doesn’t seem like he was ‘unconcerned’ at all. Anyway, different strokes for different folks.
