The real american sniper was a hate-filled psycho.

Hey 80% of Pubs voted for it, only 63% of Dems voted for it (1964 Act) after long Democrat filibusters. Only one of 22 southern Democrats voted for it. All but one stayed in the Democrat Party.

Weren't you the one claiming all the Democrat racists came over to the Republican Party? name 'em. I know of one.

^^ doesn't realize all the southern racist Democrats....are still the exact same conservative ass hats that now call themselves Republicans and Teahaddist, the folks vettey worships. LOL

The most disturbing passage in the book to me was the one where Kyle talked about being competitive with other snipers, and how when one in particular began to threaten his "legendary" number, Kyle "all of the sudden" seemed to have "every stinkin' bad guy in the city running across my scope." As in, wink wink, my luck suddenly changed when the sniper-race got close, get it? It's super-ugly stuff.

The man openly describes taking pleasure in killing in the book, basically hints that he started indiscriminately killing people to protect his kill total in the book, has been proven to be a fabulist/pathological liar in court, and he and his friends are described in almost every interview as "playfully" threatening physical harm or death to the interviewer.

The man was a textbook sociopath.

Are you sure of that? First, a good number of them joined the American Independent Party, led by George Wallace. Second, this happened in 1964 - almost 51 years ago. I would bet most people who were members of Congress that long ago are dead now.

When people talk about how the polarities of the parties reversed in the sixties, they're not JUST taking about the makeup of elected representatives. The makeup of Congress is a lagging, not leading indicator of political change in the country. They're talking about the makeup of the constituencies themselves and the loyalties of political operators.

There is absolutely no question that racist, Southern whites started abandoning the Democratic Party as it got more progressive throughout the 20th century and then in droves when the CRA passed.

To say that argument falls apart because all the racists in Congress didn't pull what is historically a rare maneuver--switching parties while still seated in Congress--is a strawman.

The statements I questioned were that all the racist Dems joined the GOP and ....are still the exact same conservative ass hats that now call themselves Republicans and Teahaddist, Many of them joined the AIP and those who didn't are not the exact same asshats because most of those asshats are dead.

BTW, I doubt you will find any people calling themselves "Teahaddists."

His "autobiography" should have been seen as a cry for help to those that loved him. The lies - Jesse Ventura incident and the shooting of Katrina looters - were a sign that there was something not right with him. PTSD is a bitch, and this man had it, whether or not his wife or even he wanted to admit it!

I have read Henderson's book and saw an interview with Hathcock. While I agree with most of what you said I would suggest to you that urban warfare is dramatically different then jungle warfare.

With that said, if my son was a Marine grunt in Fallujah I would want a Chris Kyle like sniper watching his back. He could tell all the "tall tales" he wished. While there is no way to prove it my guess is that he saved more American and coalition lives then he took.

There is nothing to be said for Jesse Ventura. Substituting Kyle's widow as the defendant was a despicable act and shows what kind of a person he is. The fact that some on here would support and even celebrate that while demonizing Kyle is almost as bad.
Completely ignoring the fact that Cris Kyle stated publicly that ALL of the profits from his book were to go to charities,so Kyle's widow was not to receive them anyway. Profits of $6 million and rising fast since the movie came out. And of this date only 2% of those profits have gone to any charity.

The man is an American warrior, a highly motivated trained killer in the service of the United States government.

Both true.

The man is an American warrior, a highly motivated trained killer in the service of the United States government. That's what our military does. That's why they exist. That's what they are paid to do, and true to their oath that's what they do better than anyone else. Now grow up, go back to your video game, and thank your lucky fucking stars that better men are still stepping up to the plate to make sure you can grow up to be a pussy if you want to.

You might not be aware of this but the military has at least pretensions to a tradition of honor, i.e. at least not purposely harming non-combatants if not outright protecting them.

To use your video game example, there is nothing honorable about treating your list of confirmed kills as the real-life equivalent of a top score in an arcade game and engaging in indiscriminate murder to protect that score.

If you enjoy murdering people, brag about how many murders you committed, and used random men, women, and children to juice that number when another person started getting close to your number of kills, then, I don't care who you are or what your job is, you're a sick fuck who needs to be separated from society.

So, how many non-combatants were included in this list of kills anyhow? And what is a non-combatant? I'm not going to use any form of the word "murder" because killing an enemy in battle is not murder.

I generally agree.

As for Ventura... he was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. He felt he was wrongly accused. If he didn't stand up for his own honor , pursue the case and clear his name, everyone would believe it was all true. They would say that dropping the case was solid proof that what was in print was both truthful and factual. Jesse ultimately chose to be known as an asshole rather than a traitor.

Kyle had the opportunity to recant, and refused. It would have been easy to allow that with a $1000 bar tab, Kyle's hearing, reasoning and memory were not the equal of Ventura ( who wasn't drinking that night ). It was all a terrible misunderstanding during a time of grief, apologized, and arranged to delete that passage from future copies of the memoir. They could have shook hands and put it behind them.

Regardless, the court case kept the book in the news, which not only sold more books, but made Kyle better known and the movie more viable. I have a feeling everybody got more money and attention the way it turned out.

I think you're taking his statement overly literally. Yes, due to circle of life, the electorate of rural, working class white who blame minorities and women rather than big business and corruption for their increasingly bad living conditions isn't numerically equivalent to the same electorate of the mid-sixties.

But those people and right-wing religious fanatics did form the modern conservative movement, in both its more mainstream and fringe forms--which is a distinction with less and less of a difference these days--and the living members of that polarity shift and their descendants are still the core membership of those groups.

Also, I come from rural California. Rural, white voters are assholes. There are exceptions here and there but the majority of them are hateful assholes who put bumper stickers on their cars like "Liberalism is a Disease" and react to things like the report from the federal government that right-wing fanatics are the main domestic security threat by calling themselves "proud right-wing terrorists."

I am taking exception to the words "exact same" and using verbs that are in the present tense.

This one apparently was not true to his.

That question came to the fore last week on Twitter when several liberal journalists drew attention to Kyle’s less Oscar-worthy statements. “Chris Kyle boasted of looting the apartments of Iraqi families in Fallujah,” wrote author and former Daily Beast writer Max Blumenthal. “Kill every male you see,” Rania Khalek quoted, calling Kyle an “American psycho”.

If that ain't against the oath, they need a new one.

too bad you are too much of a coward to EVER join the service. you and your kind are too selfish and unwilling to do any work. you only want free and handouts.

carry on welfare fucktard

None of you clowns including Blumenthal ever walked a mile in his boots and killing every male in a building full of terrorist who are offering resistance is SOP in a combat zone.

Then they need a different SOP, too.

And the looting?

And we don't need to, to see the signs that he had some mental problems. Seriously, avoiding that he NEVER shot New Orleans looters?

Probably intelligence gathering.

Yes, of course. Or something of that general nature.

Now remember when you're 'acking round a gilded Burma god
That 'is eyes is very often precious stones;
An' if you treat a nigger to a dose o' cleanin'-rod
'E's like to show you everything 'e owns.
When 'e won't prodooce no more, pour some water on the floor

(Chorus) Loo! loo! Lulu! Loot! loot! loot!
Ow the loot!
Bloomin' loot!
That's the thing to make the boys git up an' shoot!
It's the same with dogs an' men,
If you'd make 'em come again
Clap 'em forward with a Loo! loo! Lulu! Loot!
