The Retaking of Aine OOC

And yeah, we apparently have a new magic user. Human too. Claims to be immune to dizziness. I would think that he's immune to chemically induced dizziness, from all that volcano smoke and whatnot. If that is indeed the case, he wouldn't be immune to dizziness induced by a different method, mainly sound.
Jedi alright so i didint give any heads up that i was interested publicly.
Now about the dizziness thing think vertigo and some of its characteristics. If you lived on top of a mountain you can get tightend up when you look over a cliff.
As for my entrence I was thinking he could come in with a group of refuges.

Ah, so immunity to dizziness induced visually. Didn't think of that. It's still not the same as dizziness induced by sound or chemicals.

Anyways, I look forward to what you can produce, Sage.

Yeah if some one were to take a gong and strike it right next to him he would be stuned. Nothings stoping him from being poisoned ether.

Oh, no, I'm not talking about being stunned. I'm talking about sound inducing dizziness in a person, which is what the whistle of the Mori Hunters does. It emits a very high frequency - beyond hearing range (like a dog whistle) - sound wave that induces incapacitating dizziness in all beings except pure blood elves. A person isn't stunned, per se, they merely become so dizzy they can't stand, almost as if drunk.

This is why I've been trying to determine the limits to that immunity to dizziness bit. My character has one of those whistles.

when i origanally thought of it i was thinking of it as loss of coordination through the inner ear... but if you want me to become dizzy too than I'll work with that.

Question Jedi:

Why aren't pure blooded elves affected? I would think, because of their even more sensitive hearing compared to other creatures, that they would be the most affected.

Also, does this whistle work on animals? I would assume so.

Pure blooded elves are immune because of their innate, almost magical, sense of balance. Plus, why would the Mori use the whistle if it affected them as well? And yes, this whistle affects any creature that is not a pure blooded elf.

Half-elves are resistant to the effects of the whistle, but not immune; they can recover from the effects in half the time it takes those with no elf-blood to recover.

*nods* okay. That's why I asked - having a whistle that affects the blower just as easily would have been a completely stupid idea.

Oh and Sage, coming in with some refugees is a good idea. We need a few more *able* people around that war council.

I admit it! I'm having the trouble of my life (so far as I can remember!) to write this thing! *ROAR*

Besides that, how is everybody doing?:)

Just realized a thing: Nayil spent a night in the forest with the crone and they, at least, spent another half day getting to the nearest road that lead to the village.

I hate being such a detail freak (actually, its just like I am, so get used to it!) but this means Nayil will be arriving at the village after the war council has been done, with whatever agreements and/or arrangements it may sprout from it.

Work with me on this, please: I'll be putting my post ASAP (will try to have it up until evening - 2008/12/13) but try to not include Nayil on your posts as you write them.

PervySage, if you want to, you can arrange for your PC to cross paths with Nayil (I'm going to leave Nayil walking to the village at the end of my post) on the road to the village, along with the band of refugees you planned to bring along. Just be careful: Nayil is extremely wary of magic wielders and he has artefacts that can sense magic and magic use/users around him (I'm now speaking directly to our lovely DM, too).

With this said, I bid you all farewell.:D

*nods* duly noted. Seeing as you'll be ending your post as Nayil walking towards the village, we have a day game time until we notice you. You may have to wait until the appropriate time for you to respond to any posts. That includes you as well, Sage, should you meet up with Nayil as for now, he is unfortunately in the future :D

And Qyron, try not to worry. I'm sure the post will be just fine.

Hmm...it would seem that Sage has failed to break the monotany as he promised. In fact, it would seem that he hasn't even tried. Oh well, not his fault entirely.

True, Jedi.

I was at least decent enough to take my PC out of the of all the others.
That damned post is turning into a monstrosity. And I haven´t had all that much of a time to actually write. I work!:D And attend college! And I am a "married" man!

So how is everything going?

Well, the thread as went down the slope again. Everything´s really slow. Hope it will get on its feet quickly. Or at least retakes a steady pace.

Oddly enough, the new Star Trek thread has taken off at warp speed. I wonder if it has anything to do with the new movie that's coming out this summer?

Yeah, I hope the others show up. Wolfsister I can let slide, seeing as how she at least posts to let us know if anything is happening. I see Kalika online every once in a while, and Mantra has been super busy the past month or so, and still is, but not so much now. As for you, well, you sure are taking a while on that post, but you at least are online chatting. Oh, and then there's RenegadeIrishman. No comment for him because I don't have the slightest idea of what's up with him.

So, yeah, I hope this story picks up again.

Rain, the coldest winter in about 75 years, snow in parts of the country where it never had snowed before, isolated main cities due to blizzards... Yeah. Pretty boring.

Just a curiosity: I was last night adding a few lines to my post but I realized I had written a night scene; would you buy a Talarine raid during the night?

Wow. At least you're getting more of a winter than I am. I missed all the snow fall, but at least there's still a lot left on the ground.

In other news, on Tuesday morning, or afternoon for you, the United States of America will have it's first African-American president take office, a historic moment for our great nation. I can only hope that he can get our country back in shape.

Well, as much as I would like to stay and chat, I've got an early day tomorrow and I've been awake for nearly 20 hours. I hate mornings.

Good night.

would you buy it in a storm night?

People change Jedi. Why should not countries to?
