Thought for the day.

Which leads me to wonder about the actual measurement of intelligence...should it be measured in book learning or in actual life experience and which of the two is the most important?

If you take all of the members of Mensa and drop them into the Congo, and you take 10 Congo natives and drop them into New York City, I can almost guarentee that Mensa would cease to exist other than as animal shit. The natives would prosper and soon be running business throughout the city.
Which do you think is the true measure of intelligence?

Whoo Hoo!!! We hit 3 pages!!! Who woulda thunk it?

I know some of those Mensa folks and I don't think that is quite the way that it would end up....

I know some of those Mensa folks too. Reality survival is not the strong suit. Pose this question to one of them.
What is the oldest profession?

I was refering to "the little death."
Never underestimate the depths your mind is capable of.
:rose:

I wonder why men refer to it as the 'little death'...I find it quite enlivening!

What's that sound I hear??? Does anyone else hear it???

Because immediately after, you feel like you could meet your maker with no problems at all.
Or you feel like you would kill to get some!
I guess it could go either way.

The world's oldest profession is religion actually...with prostitution running a close second....

Think that maybe there is a connection there?

The oldest profession is migrant working. Religion is 2nd and prostitution is #3.
Thats what I mean about Mensa. They always choose the obvious.

Makes me wonder who was leading all those migrant workers...

But a bigger question is one that came up tonight in an earlier conversation...if you could have all the control over any one aspect of your life, what aspect would you choose to control?

Adam was leading the migrant workers, non-union of course.

My feelings. I have a tendency to fall hard and fast. I hate that about myself. Fools rush in...

But that can be a good thing if it is with the right person...

Another new thought

If one man's vote counts, then why do we continue to use the electoral delegate system?

Drug Testing

Why is that employers want you to take drug tests, but they don't want you to study for them?

Here is a thought.

To those of us who work in the tourist trades, three-day weekends just mean more work.
For the past 15 years, my weekend has been Monday-Tuesday.
You meet the most interesting people at the movies on a Tuesday afternoon.

If I could shape-shift, I would shift into a beautiful woman so I could hear what all the dancers in the strip club dressing room talk about when the men are not around.

Actually, I would prefer Tues, Wed & Thurs.

I can not help being this way. It's genetic. My parents were the same way.

Less people out and about to get in your way during the week....so one can get more done I would think.
