Too many games not enough interacting

im not a game person

i love chatting, and can usually tell with in the first
3 posts weather its my kind of post or not..
most are not..
or maybe its me! God forbid.. maybe im just so boring
and not interested in some ones sex life.. I mean i dont know
them. if i knew them Oh i would be all over that thread..
but someone from Boise Idaho named SEX , well i just dont
care...

so thats why its hard to strike a happy med in here..
but we should keep trying..
after all WE are exciting and that person in Boise may love us...

Actually CC..I've been thinking of this idea for awhile now.. the best way would be to pm Laurel and Manu and ask them to make a Contest and Game forum. I like playing in the games once in awhile to, but as you have stated I don't like searching thru 5 or 6 pages to find a thread that I may want to post in.

Do you think that there would be enough interest to have a completely separate forum?

I know it seems like there are a lot of game threads - but would the same people respond so much to them if they had to go to another forum to do so?

Questions that will probably be taken into consideration.

There was some talk on the GB about having a separate political forum.

Dunno if either of these things will happen - but it would be a nice addition to a porn board. lol

Seriously though - while this may well be a porn board, it seems to have grown beyond that from the initial start up of the site. Porn, erotica, and sexuality will always be the main theme, yet it is interesting how much of this site has nothing to do with it.

I think this thread, in and of itself, is an expression of the desire for interaction.

Like many, I first started reading the Lit boards for information. But I stayed for the community. The game threads only interest me occasionally, and then as often as not it's because I see certain people playing at a given time. The game itself is not what attracts me; it's the people.

Whether it would make sense to break out the game threads from here and the GB into a separate board is a matter for some discussion and debate.

I would hope, however, that this discussion would take into consideration the fact that the games have developed as parts of the Playground and GB communities and reflect the interests and preferences of the people who populate these communities.

Perhaps it's just my own style of browsing the forum thread lists, but I find it easy to skip over the game thread titles to find the conversational threads. I know which ones of these I enjoy and it's easy to spot new ones by the low number of posts. If I spot a new thread I may investigate or not, depending on the title, whether or not there is a spelling error in the title (these bug me; it's a personal thing), and perhaps the identity of the person who started the thread may tell me something.

So, as I conclude this little bit of thinking out loud, I think I would argue against splitting out the game threads because they do include some interaction (though brief in most cases) and because they are integral to the spirit of the GB and Playground respectively.

Just MHO.

i don't know how others organise their LIT control panel, but i subscribe to several forums, as well as threads from those forums. i too look for people i recognise and sometimes join in a game if they are there. if there was a game forum that collected all games from all threads i would subscribe to that forum just as i subscribe to PG or LP or BDSM.

all forums seem to have games on them, not just PG and GB, so i donot know the best way to handle all of this. it is an interesting idea, but i donot know if this is what Rosy had in mind when she started this thread.

Some of us enjoy more than inane and frivolous chatter although those kinds of conversations are not without merit. I didn't read through the thread, I just addressed the initial post.

I enjoy talking about something. I enjoy giving opinions, seeing other people's opinions and the interaction that takes place in between and all around a specific topic. It is a great way to meet people that are like-minded and/or people that aren't but are interesting anyway.

I forget that many people here feel that they own a particular thread and become offended and twisted up if it goes in any other direction than what was originally intended. To me that is boring and stifles any true communication and interaction that can evolve from people. By chastising a group of people that would actually like to discuss something as opposed to nothing and anything you limit the variety of people to interact with - because you will end up with the same ones you always interact with.

I enjoy inane chatter as well - it justs take me time to warm up to it with a group of people I don't know well. I suppose that is why I tend to like serious talk more, at least at first.

I work in the medical field as well. More in the background, hidden in the lab.

Thanks for clarifying rosy! I have had this happen to me before here and I gotta tell you it is very off-putting. We are all so diverse in so many things - including the way we get to know others and interact. I truly meant no offense in my response.

I am not one to be overly huggy, kissy, smiley facey (except for the odd number of people and when I am feeling overly goofy) - but I do like to talk.
