Lawmakers at local, state and federal levels called Friday for a temporary pause in ocean floor preparation work for offshore wind farms in New Jersey and New York after another dead whale washed ashore in the area.
The calls came as most of New Jersey's environmental groups warned against linking offshore wind work and whale deaths, calling such associations “unfounded and premature.”
The death was the seventh in a little over a month. The spate of fatalities prompted an environmental group and some citizens groups opposed to offshore wind to ask President Biden earlier this week for a federal investigation into the deaths.
The latest death Thursday was that of a 20- to 25-foot-long (6- to 7.6-meter-long) humpback whale. Its remains washed ashore in Brigantine, just north of Atlantic City, which itself has seen two dead whales on its beaches in recent weeks.

Most of the dead whale that have verified necropsies were struck by ships, and the people raising alarms are anti off shore wind advocates with agendas.- Ironically, some are “environmentalists” while others are those concerned about wind farms being an eyesore and a negative for local businesses.

The groups in New Jersey raising alarms about a correlation between off shore wind farms and dead whales also fail to mention that New Jersey currently doesn’t have any off shore wind farms.

I am not saying that there MAY NOT be SOME correlation between wind farms and whale deaths, but the suggestion that they are uniquely responsible is laughably ignorant.

Of course that ^ doesn’t stop ineedhelp1 from engaging in speculation / gaslighting, and perpetuating / propagating an agenda driven narrative.

In 2013 then Vice President Biden visited China along with his son Hunter Biden. Starting in 2014 the Chinese have donated $10 million/year (+/-) to the UPa.

It IS true that the donations were not targeted to the Biden International Center for Graft and Corruption. But the timing is suspect.

Contrary to what former President Trump has asserted there is NO evidence that the Chinese has access to the classified documents. On the other hand there is NO evidence that they didn't.

It is also true that the Chinese are making donations to other institutions of higher learning, donations to the tune of approx. $1 billion/year. This represents a problem regardless of any Biden (or other politicians) connection. Large sums of money usually come with 'suggestions', suggestions that if not paid attention to can result in no further donations. I doubt that the Chinese have the long term best interests of the US in mind when making 'suggestions.'
