Trump

I was impressed by Cruz and Carson last nite. Cruz negatively--his intelligence and ease of articulation seem sinister when paired with his lizardlike affect and the way he stands there smirking like a chess master who is already 10 moves ahead. Carson positively--his self-possession and "centered" qualities shine forth in the midst of a bunch of try-hards. All this talk of "politicians"; he's the one who really didn't seem like a politico at all. He was like the eye in a storm of Nixon-sweat and gratuitous Reagan references. Rand Paul, who I once thought might amount to something, seems like a man of small stature. ¡Jéb! is obviously intelligent and would probably be a fine executive, but watching him try to get out from the submissive position in the bully-dork relationship he has with Trump was painful to watch.

Where is The Donald hiding? Shouldn't he be trying to deport 3rd generation Americans by now?

Where did Donald Trump announce that " he was staying" ?
The major media networks seems to be keen on showcasing this remark.

"Donald Trump and Ben Carson are locked in a heated battle for the top spot among Republican’s in the 2016 race for the GOP presidential race. "

Both have taken shots at each other over the past week.

Monday morning, Trump held a town hall meeting in Atkinson, New Hampshire.

Trump celebrated his poll standings, despite recent numbers that show him trailing Ben Carson.

Several hundred people were at the rally, which was followed by a more intimate town hall-style meeting hosted by the Today Show. It was by invitation only, giving voters a chance to ask Trump questions.

One voter asked Trump what he would like to say to people who think he is too harsh to be president.

"It's such a great question and I had a woman the other day say, 'Mr. Trump I love you, I'm voting for you, but are you nice enough to be President?' I said, 'You know what, I really am a nice person, I give tremendous amounts of money away, I love to help people, I love people," and you see from upstairs how many people showed up to see me. It's not going to be, though, this time about niceness," Trump said.

How extreme of a campaign promises, is it possible to make, if you know that you will never have to fulfill those promises ?

How easy is it to say you would build a castle upon thin air, if you know you will never have to build that castle ?

Trump Gems! Offensive, insensitive, and terrible to hear.

Self made man, starts with a million dollars from dad ?

"It's not been easy for me. I started off in Brooklyn. My father gave me a small loan of a million dollars," he said.

Donald Trump knows what it is like, for the people who are willing to vote for him. At some time in his life he had a bite of something from McDonald's and he has driven a car, at some point in his life.

Trump's 300 ft yacht

November 10, 1988: In his first appearance on "Late Night with David Letterman," real estate tycoon Donald Trump talks about his purchase of a luxury yacht from Adnan Khashoggi, one of the Middle East's most-prominent arms dealers at the time.

the key word in this is "SMALL." A small loan of a million dollars? Most of his followers won't make a million dollars in totality in their lives, and they people he's a "self-made" billionaire?

In the news today half of Americans earn 30K or less per year, 40% earn less than 20K, and the numbers don't include the unemployed.

Every candidate is at least a multi-millionaire, and all in Congress are multi-millionaires. Maybe we oughta recruit candidates from the homeless or from among you guys.

trump brags he's "Self-made", received no help from his father.

Um, he just busted himself. Just another lie.

He claims he took a $1 million loan from his father.....what he has accomplished since then is well beyond that.

Really? So getting a head start because of a rich father doesn't disqualify as being "Self Made?"

I wish I could live in your world. Wow!

it depends on your definition of "self made".... Hypothetically, turning a million into several billion is self made, IMO

Turning bubkiss into billions - Warren Buffet
Turning an idea you had in college in billions - Bill Gates

Not if you inherited the million. It's eons harder to turn nothing into billions than to get there with a million in hand. The former is self-made. the latter was invested.

trump's been trying to brand himself as a "self-made" man, as a person of the people.

He isn't but none are.

One of my aunts usta piss and moan about inheritance all the time, and one day I asked her: YOU GIVING YOUR STUFF TO CHARITY WHEN YOU DIE? She willed it to her kids.

To be fair, even Warren Buffett had the capacity to raise capital from family and friends when he first formed Berkshire Hathaway. However, he did go to Wall Street pretty much straight out of school with relatively little to his name and developed solid credentials and expertise there. Trump isn't even in the same class with Buffett in this regard.

I'm not the one who posted that Warren Buffett was self-made.

Then honestly your opinion is demonstrably false. That is not to say he's not hardworking or brilliant. It's to state a simple fact that doors were opened for him that he could not open on his own.

If we're being honest I think African Americans and Southern Whites make far too much (on occasion) of this stupid concept of being self made and not wanting your hand outs. There is no (or shouldn't be) any shame in taking full advantage of every opportunity that is available to you. Be you Trump or Paris Hilton.

Anybody who can say on their death bed that they are +1 from where they were born has nothing to be ashamed of whatsoever. However don't go singing about how you got here by pulling yourself up by your bootstraps and I should do the same when your bootstraps were million dollar investments recieved when you came of age and a lot of connections you basically inherited and mine are whatever money I can save up after the bills and connections I hobbled together at my local Starbucks. Sure as fuck don't tell me about how I'm a 'taker' because I want to find ways to get my education cheaper so I have a hope of making a tenth what you do.

Well I agree with you there. However, he went from average real estate developer to a Brand, in the toughest city in the world....started writing books and bought casino's in Atlantic City. Lost his stuff then got it back. TV star, producer, marvelous golf courses, I mean......he has recreated himself over and over. Call it what you want. No he didnt come to this country with a hand full of beans.....

Self made in the truest sense might be someone like Frank Sinatra, Jerry Lewis, colonel sanders, Edison, Ford, Vanderbilt....that said, I am still not sure WHY he is in the race to begin with. I never say never, but the task of winning this is huge....for him to even get the nomination is tough

Whatever horrors President Trump would inflict on the USA, I must admit, it might be almost worth it to see him in the Oval Office for two reasons:

1) He'd finally have to explain the hairpiece.

2) His first hour of interaction with the Washington press corps as President would be epic. One hour of chewing them out will produce enough media fodder to last years.

Norfolk, Virginia (CNN)Donald Trump on Saturday knocked President Barack Obama's decision to deploy fewer than 50 Special Operations forces on the ground in Syria, suggesting the strategy is a half-measure.

"I think we have a president who just doesn't know what he's doing," Trump told CNN. "You either do it or you don't do it. Fifty people. He puts 50 people."

Trump did not say whether he would deploy more troops to Syria as president, but simply said, "You either do it or you don't do it."

The remarks are the first time Trump has reacted to Obama's decision to deploy fewer than 50 Special Operations forces to Syria, which the White House announced Friday. The announcement came two years after Obama addressed the American public and said emphatically: "I will not put American boots on the ground in Syria."

clearly, having a real leader in office freaks the shit out of you obama slaves.

what will happen to all those welfare?

welfare, a verb and noun and an excuse for being a lazy fucktard

clearly, obama is a sissy that has fucked the world over. look at the obama destruction in Iraq, Afgan...Syria...Ukraine, Libya ... obama brought back the USSR, and now China

yeah, obama fucking pig shit

what do you know about being self made? your a lazy welfare retard holding a hand out ...

he did something. accomplished way more than that obama

Without looking up every one of them to read their early history I'm simply taking your word for it. Because my point wasn't that Trump isn't a smart, hard working businessman. He is very good at what he does. My point was and remains that in capitalism to a very real extent winning=winning and you don't get start off with a million dollars and become a billiniare and talk down to someone who was born poor or middle class and remains such. You had tools at your disposal that they simply didn't.

I'm actually amazed he'd actually announce 50 guys. That sounds like the sort of thing you could/would and should just sort of pretend they are contractors or advisers or whatever other bullshit terms.
