Christie's Trump endorsement fuels veep speculation

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's surprise endorsement of Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump Friday fueled immediate speculation among pundits and D.C. insiders that the governor was angling to be the billionaire businessman and reality TV star's vice presidential pick.

Christie himself did not rule it out when asked during a press conference with Trump to announce his endorsement. "I haven't been offered the position. I don't care to speculate on these things," he said, adding that he intended to fill out his term as governor.

It would be irresponsible not to speculate.

Republican consultant Liz Mair, who has been been prodding the party to forcefully take on Trump, took an even more cynical view. "To be fair, Christie might be correctly betting Trump will get indicted and if he's the VP, then he gets to be Prez," she tweeted. She later clarified she meant "impeached" rather than indicted.

Christie plays a double game?

Trump can’t handle media criticism — so now he’s promising to disembowel the First Amendment

During a speech in Texas on Friday morning, GOP candidate Donald Trump said he wants to protect the Second Amendment but decimate the First Amendment.

It was the real estate mogul’s first speech since Thursday night’s fiery debate, in which rival Marco Rubio went on the attack and knocked Trump off balance.

Trump said he wants to sue news outlets for doing negative stories about him. The First Amendment of the Constitution specifically protects a free press, but Trump has made it a habit to bash reporters covering his events and the media in general.

But on Friday he went the extra step of saying he would limit the press using litigation as a stick.

“I think the media is among the most dishonest groups of people I’ve ever met,” Trump said. “They’re terrible.”

Then he said Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos bought the Washington Post to have political influence.

That’s when Trump said he’d wield influence over the media in his own way.

“One of the things I’m gonna do, and this is only gonna make it tougher for me, and I’ve never said this before, but one of the things I’m gonna do if I win… is I’m gonna open up our libel laws so when they write purposely negative and horrible and false articles, we can sue them and win lots of money. We’re gonna open up those libel laws.”

He then added, “With me, they’re not protected, because I’m not like other people… We’re gonna open up those libel laws, folks, and we’re gonna have people sue you like you never get sued before.”

I wonder if Trump can even spell fascist?

At the GB

You want me to wade thru that steaming pile of perversion to find the nuggets of your wisdom? Shit, Miles posts on the GB, are you as stupid as he is. He can't even support his own allegations!

Okay I put on my Wellingtons and waded thru the shit to find, http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=1285544

But all I found was a glossed over generalization for a Government form that never existed, and that doesn't consider how to achieve it 'noble' purposes.

Now if we look at the Fascistic governments that actually existed ( Spain, Italy, Germany) we see a form of Government that demanded the people blindly support the amalgamation of Corporatism and single party Government, give up the right to free speech, individual pursuit of happiness and the right to throw the bastards out through the ballot.

Now if we look at The Donald we see he is at heart a Fascist, who can not stand criticism, wants the people to do what he tells them to do and not what they want to do. He has no regard to anyone's opinion but his own and will not even consider facts that prove he is wrong. And you want him to be our President?

Jimmy, have you never read Eric Hoffer's "The True Believer"? Hoffer laid out the way that people delude themselves into following the "Great ___isims" because they were incapable of seeing reality. They blindly follow a philosophy because they find meaning to their intolerable existence by being part of the mob. They gain a sense of purpose, that they are incapable of developing through critical thinking, in the mob mentality.

I believe it was you who pointed out that Trump was using the same methods as Hitler to create his following. So why are you falling for his bullshit?

I lived in Spain two years while Franco ruled. Franco let women sell pussy and generally left people alone so long as they kept their guns and goodtimes at home. You couldn't go out and loot or demonstrate or rape or rob. The streets were safe for any woman to be on, day or nite. If she wanted to sell pussy she hadda go to a place that was safe and clean, guarded by the cops. Usually a villa on the other side of the city limit sign. The other thing I liked was: if you sold your stuff in Spain you hadda make your stuff in Spain. Chrysler made cars in the city where I was. Schools were free, and college was almost free. The medical school in town accepted almost anyone.

People SUCK!

They complain that politics is full of crooks, cronies and double talking douche bags.

Then, during the election process they prop up someone that is the kind of all douche bags as some sort of savior.

Stupid is as stupid does. Thank you NH, SC and fucking Nevada.

So you're saying that Trump is a poor substitute for an actual Fascist?

I can believe that.

What Liz Mair said occurred to me too: that in the (extremely unlikely) event Trump were to get elected, his VP stands a very good chance of someday becoming President. Not just because of impeachment, but I could see Trump simply getting bored and quitting at some point.

Pull your nose outta the unicorns ass. Youre fucked in 2016. Accept it.

So let's say The Donald does win. Lets also say you have GOP control in the House and the Senate. What does that look like?

The GOP regulars hate The Donald. Are they going to fund his fence? Are they going to start rounding up 15 million people? Will they launch a unilateral missile and bombing campaign against ISIS? Are troops going on the ground in Syria?

Better yet, will they tax the rich "hedge fund guy paying very little in taxes"?

The GOP regulars hate The Donald.

Yup and here is why.

Are they going to fund his fence?

No they won't have to, which means they can't run an 900 billion dollar tab for all their contractor buddies who financed their campaigns.

That lack of welfare piss's republicans the fuck off.

Are they going to start rounding up 15 million people?

Sure why not? That would piss off Democrats and Republicans.

Will they launch a unilateral missile and bombing campaign against ISIS? Are troops going on the ground in Syria?

Sure why not? Here is the deal, Trump will go over there, kill mother fuckers by the tens of millions until they are on their fucking knees, then he's going to enslave the fuckers to make them pay our bills for having to come make them behave.

He won't drag it out into a 30 year 500 Trillion dollar republican gravy train....

This absolutely fucking INFURIATES the Republicans.

Better yet, will they tax the rich "hedge fund guy paying very little in taxes"?

No, why would he?

He says he can make the Mexicans pay for the wall.

He also says he can balance the budget.

I believe every word he says. Have you heard him say how much he loves everyone? He loves the Spanish. He loves Telemundo. He loves the evangelicals.

Trump's stated position is that the "hedge fund guys" need to pay more taxes.

Take a look at our current POTUS who promised hope and change....then fucked us all up the ass.

Trump has no reason to fuck those folks, so he's not gonna.

Well, probably not by taxation, but if any of them were funding a super pac which stung Trump with some true criticism, and he found out who was behind it....

Well, Trump is nothing if not vindictive, and such people might find themselves on No Fly lists, IRS audits, SEC investigations, Dept of Labor probes, or anything else he can come up with.

Mitch McConnell: Republicans will drop Trump ‘like a hot rock’ if he wins the nomination

In private meetings in Washington, Republicans are preparing for their latest worst case 2016 election scenario: Donald Trump might be their presidential nominee.

Normally at this point in the election cycle the GOP would be gearing up for attacks on their anticipated Democratic rival for the White House. But party leaders are so distraught at the idea of the blustery businessman heading the ticket, that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has taken to advising candidates to keep their distance from Trump.

According to the New York Times, McConnell is assuring Senate candidates running for reelection that they should feel free to run ads against Trump if they feel he is hurting their own campaigns. According to senators attending private lunches with the Majority Leader, McConnell is taking the approach that Trump will lose badly in the general election and that senators should sell themselves as a bulwark against a Hillary Clinton presidency.

Hobby Lobby founder endorses Rubio: Trump ‘scares me to death’ but Marco ‘gives the glory to God’

The founder of Hobby Lobby, a $3.7 billion Christian-based arts-and-crafts retail chain at the heart of the fight over the Affordable Care Act, threw his support behind Sen. Marco Rubio, reports The Hill

CEO David Green, whose company successfully argued before the Supreme Court that religious businesses should be able to deny contraception coverage to women, issued a statement Sunday morning endorsing the Florida senator.

“Marco Rubio has impressed us with his preparation and the way he carries himself. But most importantly, Marco regularly exhibits humility and gives the glory to God,” he wrote.

HP CEO and former GOP governor nominee Meg Whitman labels Trump ‘unfit’ to be president

Meg Whitman, the head of technology firm HP Inc said that Donald Trump was “unfit” for the U.S. presidency on Sunday, NBC reported, and criticized New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, whose failed presidential bid she supported, for endorsing Trump.

Trump’s insurgent campaign has riven the Republican Party, with party leaders openly discussing how to thwart the will of the tens of thousands of members who have voted for Trump so far, helping him comfortably win in three of the four states that have so far held nominating contests.

Party leaders are nervous that Trump, a billionaire real-estate developer from New York City who deviates from some of the central tenets of Republican conservatism, may alienate voters if he is their candidate in the Nov. 8 general election. He has proposed banning Muslims from entering the United States and declined a journalist’s invitation on Sunday to condemn the Ku Klux Klan, the violent white-supremacist group.

Has Trump done enough to destroy the Rethuglican party?

Nope he's still gotta give the knife a good twist.....but prospects are looking good for 2016 being the year the GOP as we have known it for the past 50 ish years ceases to exist.

The question is at what price?

Whatever comes out of it ain't going to be very pretty.....
