Oh good, because it would be a bit silly to make a thread for two years...especially since most people on Lit who are 18 or 19 tend to be lurkers, I think. :(

I think you're probably right. I wonder if they feel intimidated?

Being in the 20s, what a dilemma for me, hehe. Maybe not so for others? *wink* Here goes...*warning, lots of ranting ahead.* I had my first kiss in 2nd grade...been asked out several times and then when I hite college, it stopped! Not stopped exactly, but I'm not being asked out by girls anymore *pouts.* I'm not sure what it is about me now a days that girls just are not interested in. Second of all, college is almost over. Although the non-girl aspect of it sux, I truly enjoyed it! It was really easy for me, setting my own schedule and exploring lots of core classes. Now, I have to go to graduate school and kind of stick to what I pick you know. That's another issue. I got an offer from one of my jobs that they would pay my full tuition if I would go into an MBA program...but umm??? I'm a biotech./premed. major for heaven sakes. I've always done really well at this job and I find that I am loving it. On the other hand, I've done science all my life and I love that. oOh and with where I work, it's all guy co-workers, ummmm...I CAN'T do THAT all my life. LoL, that's it for now. Thanks for letting me rant! I did warn ya! :rose:

LOL....I'm not laughing at you Xectxny I promise....your post was just so funny. I can totally agree with about 95% of it. I had a very active relationship life when I was in kindergarden...boys fought over me...seriously...and it's been all downhill since then. I've probably had a total of 4 real boyfriends since then, and none of the relationships lasted longer than two months...and don't even get me started about dating...that's a joke within itself.

Anyway...I loved college too for the exact same reason you pointed out X. I loved being able to pick my own classes, take what I wanted to take, etc....but honestly, grad school is sort of the same way. Yeah, I had to narrow it down, but I still get to take three or four classes outside my major...anything I want. So while it is more concentrated there's still the option for me to pursue other stubject that I enjoy.

As for what to major in and hence do for the rest of your life....I picked what I loved. While the whole idea of a company paying for your schooling sounds great, if you're not certain you want to get an MBA, and you know you love bio-tech....do bio-tech. There are enough schools out there that offer financial aid, as well as assistanship programs. I'm a grad assistant where I go to school now, I only pay $300 a semester and they pay me $400 a month just to do research....

So today was my first day back to classes....and oh my goodness I am so tired. It's like I haven't used my brain in years instead of just three weeks. I need a long nap followed by a prolonged vacation....anyone want to go to Hawaii with me to open a Tiki bar on the beach?

I do! I do!! We'll call it "Haole's" and get tanked on Mai Tais every day:)

We don't start classes until next tuesday, but that doesn't mean I'm on any kind of actual "break." The bright side is, this is my last semester of classes. EVER.

am wondering what weve learned from Lit and community?

i learned that i wasn't a nymphomaniac - just a girl with a healthy sexual appetite... ;)

i'm 25, another crazy grad student. my program is 6 years long, which i recently realized would mean that i will have been in college for 10 years.

but, it's still better than having a real job, even if it means that all your friends with real jobs have way more money than you do and don't have to eat rice for days when your stipend dwindles away...

anyway, thanks for starting this thread - great to see so many other 20somethings around...

I totally can relate, only I had four weeks off, five hours straight of politics is too much, thankfully i think I took a nap in the middle somewhere lol.

is it bad that ive had two days and im already dreaming of reading week?

I second X's point, when do we leave?
