Happy Hours

This is in reply to a post by Smarty Pants, looking for some Happy Spots in the Capital Dist.

I like the Troy Brew Pub (HH used to be just Wed. now its all weeknights, I think) Great Ales and fairly happy people. It's down on River St. with a nice deck overlooking the river (Not so nice in January but what the hey)

Malt River is a little hipper, a little happier, good beer too. More yuppified on Friday nights.

Then there's Saratoga!

I used to work at Troy Pub and Brewery, so that isn't one of my favorite spots to go. Although I do get the occasional free pint.
I've been to Malt River for dinner, but never to hang out. The people I work with go to The Big House or Jillians. They're a bit younger than I am, so I don't tag along. Maybe Saratoga is a possibilty. Any feedback on McGeary's in Albany?

Yes, Dice I am an Upstater but from over by Cooperstown. Up in the Catskills, it's really beautiful here, but a girl can get lonely, you know? My main source of contact with others is now the Internet, and it's really a lifeline! Just wanting to say there's alot more to this state than NYC! (which is great too, don't get me wrong)....I live about 90 mins. from Albany and occasionally visit the area to shop at the "big" malls...as we have nothing here!

BTW, 38 is NOT to old to attend college! Many people go at older ages and are considered "nontraditional" students...LOL I love that one.

You can't get much more nontraditional than this crazy hootin' mama...
