Recommendation from a friend who's also heavily into avant garde metal / modern metal / whatever-ya-wanna-call-it metal.

In this case not that avant garde, but a great mix of clean and growling vocals, elegant instrumentation, strong songwriting, and great performances. It's my first spin on Bandcamp, but so far I like it well enough to spring for the $9.99.
