What Are You Listening to Now 7.0

Beethoven Allegretto in C Minor... oops... Pachelbel Canon now. Damn Pandora.

I was going to write, once again, 'silence,' but I stopped to think first. Part of my dogsbody life is to listen to many things at once, competing opinions, the cacophony of many people doing many things, all of which form a background noise which is constantly with me. When I am alone ...

I want the opposite. I initially thought it was silence, the absence of noise. Coming back to this thread, I realized silence is valuable but contains less information than I discovered I need. The information depends on my needs: the mathematics of Bach, the wild exuberance of Beethoven, the lyricism of Copeland, the hormone-enhancing throb of Bob Seeger, the Delta Blues rooted rock and roll of the The Rolling Stones.

What am I listening to? A playlist of meditation music as I read and write. Why? Because.

Eldovar: a Story of Darkness and Light

Elder and Kadavar

mash up of two German prog bands making really neat Pink Floyd sounding music.

When You Wish Upon A Star - Linda Ronstadt

Heartbreakingly beautiful version, her voice is like a bell, alas now forever silenced by Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a rare form of Parkinson's disease for which there is no known cure. A crying shame.

Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms

I think I got the allure of Dire Straits now. So relaxing, still a good listen with many nice details. My, what a difference 30 years make. :)

Sylvan : One to Zero

First listen. They're a pretty decent German prog outfit, so I have high expectations.

Rhapsody In Blue - The Sinfonia of London, conducted by Kenneth Alwyn on EMI CFP Vinyl 1969

Piano Concerto in F (A1)
1st movement; Allegro [A2]
2nd Movement: Andante con moto [B1]
3rd Movement: Allegro Agitato [B2]
Rhapsody In Blue

LP has just the most wonderful Art Deco sleeve, it was worth digging out just to admire the sleeve artwork
