What Are You Nosey About Today?? šŸ¦

I’m nosey about how people feel about charts & tests that supposedly tell you about your personality. For example, a full astrology chart, the Myers-Briggs test, the Enneagrams, etc. Do you believe they’re at all accurate? Or are they completely bs? And even if you think they’re bs, what are you?

I think they’re fun & the tests can at least give some insight. And since I’m asking everyone else, I’m Cancer sun with Pisces rising & moon and an INFJ. I’ve never been able to figure out my Enneagram.

I think they are fun. I don't put too much belief in them. But they are fun.
I'm a Taurus. That's all I know.

I haven't looked at anything astrology related, although I do identify with some of the traits of a Capricorn, but haven't delved further. I have had both a Myers-Briggs and an Enneagram assessment recently done as part of a work leadership program.

I'm a M-B ESTJ (extraverted, observant, thinking, judging)
I'm a type 3 Enneagram - Threes are self-assured, attractive, and charming. Ambitious, competent, and energetic, they can also be status-conscious and highly driven for advancement. They are diplomatic and poised, but can also be overly concerned with their image and what others think of them. They typically have problems with workaholism and competitiveness. At their Best: self-accepting, authentic, everything they seem to be—role models who inspire others.

I think those are really spot on when I self assess. Part of the program was to identify who you are and how others view you and they have very good advice on how you can work with people who are different from you, especially when they're very different.

I think I’d be one of those very different people! šŸ˜† The INFJ profile does seem to fit me pretty well:

ā€œAn Advocate (INFJ) is someone with the Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging personality traits. They tend to approach life with deep thoughtfulness and imagination. Their inner vision, personal values, and a quiet, principled version of humanism guide them in all things.ā€œ

I never do this type of thing. Yesterday I was who I was, today I am who I am and tomorrow I will be what I will be.

I am a Capricorn and, upon looking this up just now, I apparently get on well with other Earth signs and I need to have sex with a Cancerian. Apparently don’t come near me if you are a Gemini. The truest part of what I read was ā€œ All in all, sometimes, Capricorns actually just like to be left the hell alone. But we love them too much to do that.ā€

I know there are some strong scientific studies into personality types but I do feel that when characteristics are being measured by people with their own characteristics, then there is going to be some ambiguity. I think nature plays a big part in who we are but nurture can skew who we turn into.

Astrology I do not believe in.
Enneagrams, I have not encountered.
MB? Probably you can perhaps broadly categorise people with it, but nothing beyond that. Some fortune 100 companies appear to disagree with me.

I am Libran with... no idea (I'd make a 'but you know what is rising!' comment since it's Lit, but, y'know, bit cliche, so I'll hedge and just reference it but with some distance).
I am INFJ-T, apparently (just done it before posting), but, and here's the rub, many of my answers could have plausibly been something else since they're on a sliding scale, leading to a different outcome.

Ask me in a year or two and I'll probably be something different on MB. I vaguely recall doing it a while ago and I'm sure it wasn't what it is now.

I believe in a lot of that stuff, Astrology and chinese animal years seem to go hand in hand, i believe in fate, you have your destiny pre planned but how you get there ie the route you take is down to you. Palm readers would say the left hand is what your born with and the right is what you make of it. I also believe your eyes, feet, and hands can display a lot about what is going on in your body to those who know what to look for.

I have been known to give Tarot readings.
The Rorschach Test sounds like it may have some validity in analysing sashimi.
Astrology...no. MB et al...reductionist bollocks.

I'm nosey about this.

Do you sit or stand when you pee?
And why do you do what you do?

Finally an easy one.

- I sit when I can't see (like in the middle of night)
- Yes, TMI but I sit when I have to pee after sex when I have that half-erection thing still going on...otherwise it's hard to aim and tends to spray rather than have a nice stream.

Otherwise, I'll stand.

Exactly the same!!

Except I will add one more time that I sit... when I am drunk... my aim is bad... it's just easier to sit.

I find the various typologies (personality types) are useful. I am an advocate of, and use practically for work, Meyers-Briggs. They're not perfect, but they are accurate enough and provide me with personality insights that I can ruthlessly exploit in my quest to rule the world!

Okay, that last part isn't true, but in my work as a project manager they help get things done and give me a framework to work off of - for example, the practical differences between an introvert and an extrovert are good to know and have an impact on day to day operations.

Psychology, once you get past the post-modern and over simplified junk, is a powerful and useful tool.

On Meyers-Briggs I'm an ENTJ. It's accurate, as to how I work, what I want, and what motivates me. Here's a link to the ENTJ Summary.

In the Zodiac - I am a triple Cancer. I like to think I embody the good parts of it, but I will admit sometimes I demonstrate the negative aspects as well. I am not a real follower of astrology, but it is also useful.

It's all about the practical and useful parts of information to me.

I stand. Because...I can.

LOL - I blame my early formative experiences. We had an outhouse (before we had running water at the ranch) and so if you sat you were sitting on wood (splinters) with a high risk of bugs, mainly spiders, crawling on your butt. Not to mention, you've never lived until it's the dead of a Nebraska winter in a raging blizzard and you have to go out and use the outhouse.

I sit most of the time because I can.

Public toilets are a different story. If they are in a very clean state, I will wipe the seat and then sit. If I can see that they are normally very clean but it has been a busy day, I will wipe and squat over the seat. If they are totally disgusting I will either wait and find somewhere else or I will wipe everything and then stand with one leg either side of the seat. If, on a drunken night out, I need to go outdoors, I squat.

I'm a lady, so I sit. Or I squat. I only use public restrooms if I have to.. and if their dirty, I don't use them at all. I'll wait until I get home. If I'm at a bar or a club and the restroom is dirty, I bitch about it to the bartender or the manager. That has only happened maybe twice to me and it got cleaned, so all good.

When you morning pee standing up...your blood pressure drops precipitously. This can cause you to pass out and hit your head. Seriously...Google bathroom injury causes. So I always sit unless I am out in public...where I just go behind the tree

Edit: <<<<see the tree?

If I'm healthy I stand.

I gave myself a UTI in college because while traveling across France I couldn't find a WC I could bring myself to use. Every single one on the train was nasty as were the ones in the train stations. I'm surprised I didn't pee myself!

During our motorcycle travels in Europe in the 90's, we found that the toilets with a cleaning lady in the door and a plate were you put some change, were always spot clean, even along the highways. And also Mc Donalds had nice clean toilets.
Today the lady is replaced with a turnstile and a machine were you can insert your credit card to get in. :(

If I pay and it’s not clean… šŸ”ŖšŸ”ŖšŸ”Ŗ

Well, let me say that I miss the old system.
It's more like a lottery today. Since I stand I go in to the mens toilet first and report to the rest of the family if it's acceptable.

I have this awesome thing called a Tinkle Bell.
It lets me go standing up in any place I don’t want to sit and is fucking awesome.

I will say, mine is named Peter and he has only been a bad idea once: concert port-a-potty when super drunk (covered my leg in piss, took my sock off, wiped up, cursed a lot, was all good but fucking gross)
