What Are You Thinking? Continued 14

Staying home in your pjs and having coffee brought to you!
Might I add a small detail? How about... and I can understand if you don't agree with me.... the person who brings the coffee on command is tall, dark, handsome, with passionate eyes, abs, and a voice the melts butter. Just a thought of course....

Now to find one and get rid of hubby for a bit. LMAO

lol this is winter in Alaska…if I waited for the sun to come up I’d never leave the house!

It was -15 so like I said princess parking! Up front and a plug in so my car won’t freeze up. And no cars at the coffee cart so I didn’t have to wait! There’s a silver lining!
-15?
I love cold weather, but I'm not sure if I love it that much LOL
I would need the coffee poured directly on me, not just in me at that point.

Haha that’s not how it works up here! Poured on you it would immediately freeze!

Seat warmers, heated steering wheel, heat cranked up. Make sure your window didn’t freeze closed BEFORE you get to the coffee cart or you have to open your door. When you get to work put on your gloves and plug your car in and then grab your stuff and waddle as fast as you can across the icy parking lot. Get inside to your office while cursing under your breath and asking yourself why you live where the air hurts you and finally sit and enjoy your still surprisingly hot coffee!

I got more good, actionable comments at the critique of my revised short story last night at my writer's group meeting.

“why do you live where the air hurts?”

I picture myself covered in layers a shirt, a flannel, a jacket, a beanie and hood. Icicles forming on my make shift mustache and melting with every chilly breath just a bit warmer than the air. I am moving faster than it seems trying to find my way to the door across the Black Sea of asphalt. If I take a moment to take it in the sight is beautiful, if I take a moment to take it in time might stop, if I take a moment I might just die in the frost.

My mind wanders when I read words that seem poetic. I’m thinking maybe I could be a poet some day…or maybe I’ll just stay where it’s warm but think it’s cold and drink my iced coffee today.
