What was the last thing you watched on Netflix?

They just added a new episode of Sandman so I watched that and just now started Echoes

It was so sad. It broke my heart because he seems to be a really good person. It’s crazy to me how much it hurt him in the draft.
He was a good person, but the league is the most macho bunch of men on earth. The whispers were that he was gay. It cost him more than $10 million in his draft year alone.

Army of the dead. Which was pure and complete shit. But worse because it was a kind of sequel to Army of thieves which wasn't the greatest, but had some clever and interesting parts.

While it makes a good documentary story, or a good way to bash the NFL macho thing, or claim homophobia to say the catfish thing cost him all that money and draft position, it's just not based on fact. The reality is, he was a creation of the college football hype machine on a team that was one of the most over-rated teams in the long history of over-rated ND teams. They played one of the weakest schedules in the history of college football to get to the national championship game (before even the current 4 team playoff). He was too small, too slow and just not that good. He and the whole team was run over by the only team they played all year that had any NFL level talent on it.

He joined a long line of undersized overachievers in college football, who made great Rudy like stories, but in the end, while they can't spot obvious QB busts to save their lives, NFL scouts can spot a 6'1... 4.8 40 running, overrated LB a mile away. By the time the draft rolled around, the luster of being the leader of an undefeated ND team had been stripped off by the realities of playing a real opponent and having his physical weaknesses laid bare.

He was a second round pick and if you look at his career, he was not worth a 2nd round pick. He played for parts of 7 years and was hurt all the time, didn't play a single full season. Even at the height of the hype, he was seen as a late 1st round player. Had he been a first round pick or a top 10 pick to get the money you say he lost, he would be considered one of the greatest busts in history.

Finally got around to watching The Intouchables. Wish I'd watched it sooner. Wonderful film.

Before that I binged Sandman. Having read the graphic novels loooong ago, I think they did an excellent job interpreting it for the screen.
