What was this thread about?....oh yeah ADHD...support group? 😅

On today's ADHD problems...
Fuck...excuse me while I go down memory lane and think if this has been a thing for me...

This tiktok talks about out of sight out of mind subject as it relates to emotions

I never thought about it this way...but it makes sense? Does anyone feel this way or relate to this?
YES! Absolutely! Mainly if I’m working on a project. It’s not a reassurance of emotions for me, but it’s when I have a question and no one responds to me in ANY way! I am currently working on something where the person in charge of organizing gives ZERO updates until absolutely all the details are worked out in their mind. In the meantime, if I have a question, no one will respond. And I’ll eventually move on ahead without approval and make everyone mad. Well if they had answered me in a timely manner, there wouldn’t have been a issue!

I don't feel this applies to me now as an adult, but I think I felt this a little when I was younger. Like a lot of the traits I have, they've become easier to manage as time goes by.

It is not overriding for me but it does make sense with me.

I think this thread highlights the differences between ADD and ADHD. :)

Now it's all ADHD, and they're classified as innatentive, hyperactive or a combination.

But yes not everyone has the same symptoms or they don't display the same way

I have the inattentive type...if it wasn't obvious 😂
I had a tendency to space out when I was younger. The men I was involved with took it personally. So they could be asking me about camping or upcoming plans, but I was spaced out thinking about other things. Maybe work, politics, family, etc. I remember being in the car with my husband and he started yelling at me. Because I wasn't paying attention to him. He refused to accept me the way I was. An introvert who was too much in her own thoughts. That hadn't changed much if you look around Lit. I'm older now. I'm not so much lost in my head. I do get turned off off of discussions threads though. Esp foot long posts. :)

I discovered my hyperactivity is my loud talking. And talking in general. I’ll keep talking to fill in gaps of silence. Or I get excited and talk louder. Apparently this whole thing is a real turn off to other people...

I am the same way. There are always things buzzing in my head. Usually 3 or 4 different things at a time and I space out. I was in the dentist chair and my only job was to close when she said close. I kept spacing out and she had to say it a couple of times

Do you guys ever feel like all the shit flying around in your head actually paralyzes you? It’s like so overwhelming I don’t get anything done.
Absolutely! One of the things with ADHD is that we struggle with executive functions, which include things like being able to prioritize. Everything can feel just as urgent or just as unimportant 😂

It was like an insane weight was lifted off my shoulders when I was diagnosed. So many of my set backs finally made sense, and gave me clarity on my internal struggles.

I truly feel for those also suffering from this. It can be maddening knowing your brain is one of your worst enemies.

I do feel that. When I see all of these things together, it is overwhelming a paralyzing. Probably why I work best with deadlines. They help cut out individual tasks clearly, in the order they need to be done.
