Patrick Gale

My favourite author - he's written so many books - all really good.

Currently reading his latest - Notes From an Exhibition.

My favourite of his - Rough Music - when I read it I bought six more copies and gave them to my friends to read - it's an absolutely brilliant book.

Good stories - quite often a gay protagonist - and such wonderful characters. His use of language made me very nearly want to give up writing.

The Bible...still

The Pact by: Jodi Picolult. I'm not really into it because it seems to predictible. Who knows maybe I have it wrong so am hanging in to see if I'm that good or not.

Mere Christianity by: C.S. Lewis

We are going to the library tomorrow I hope so maybe I can find some better things.

I did enjoy We are Their Heaven http://www.amazon.com/We-Are-Their-Heaven-Never/dp/0743291123 There was a section that reminded me of you

Just found out I've got the rest off the week off work! But am fiscially challenged so I got a couple of more books out from the library.
Bind Willow, Sleeping Woman a collection of short stories by Haruki Murakami.
The Day Watch by Sergi Lukyanenko. Im looking forward to this one since I loved the film, a breath of fresh air from the usual tired holywood vampire formula.

Perfume is superb! What a concept to describe all the smells!loved it.

I've just started Rant by Chuck Palahniuk(Fightclub) and its promising to be a cracking read on page 24 and ive all ready got a quote i love.
"How folks lay claim to a loved one is they give you a name of their own. They figure to label you as their property."

Looking forward to getting into this one.

Great read,brutal,black humor,pace and twist n turns i highly recommend it!:D

Right now I am rereading the first Sookie Stackhouse book "Dead unitl Dark" by Charlaine Harris. :) Preparing for the start of the new HBO series True Blood based on the books. I have been waiting for 2 years for this series to start.

Getting ready to leave for sunnier climes, so I am packing two books from Terry Brooks' High Druid of Shanara series that I've been meaning to finish. Otherwise, I've been alternating between children's fantasy books, Dresden Files, and Terry Pratchett. It took three tries, but I finally aprreciate Pratchett's humor. Loved his Good Omens with Neil Gaiman, too.

I tend to fall back to Jane Austen when I need to stretch my brain a bit, although I did read Atonement by Ian McEwan recently. Beautifully clear writing there.

just finished visitiny the Harry Potter series again. Probably going to start on Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series tonight.

A book about Danish Resistance fighters, who killed collaborators and snitches during World War II here in Denmark

If you are still looking for a good read

Try anything by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (they are coauthors of several books)...they write some very incredible stuff...haha I can't read them when I am by myself they scare the crap out of me. But any of their books are well worth the read. - FFOTS4Life

Anyway check them out they are awesome books!

I am reading a book of essays which are less fluff than they looked from the cover called "The Modern Jewish Girls' Guide to Guilt"

I'm reading The Burning Man by Mark Chadbourn. It's in the fantasy genre, but I picked it up yesterday and cannot put it down. Highly recommend it for fans of fantasy fiction.

Never heard of him David Gemmel is my fave fantasy writer.

I'd never heard of him either till I picked up this book. Haven't been doing anything else but reading to be honest, it's that good - but it mixs everything I like: fairytale, magic, historical figures, dark gothic horror and even a bit of romance.

Sounds good. Raymond E Feist is good too.

Yup, and Robert Jordan, Stephen Lawhead and the guy who wrote Shadowmancer whose name I cannot think off the top of my head lol

And I am starting to love Christopher Moore although he's not technically a fantasy author.
