What's for dinner?

Giant piece of toasted stone wheat sourdough bread covered with butter, chive cream cheese, rice/veg/chicken leftovers with a couple eggs over easy on top and carrots on the side.

After weeks of heatwave, we have a bit of respite with cooler weather. Kitty needs feeding. So lunch today is sausages and mashed potatoes. Supper is lettuce soup, slow-cooked lamb shanks and Brussels sprouts, and greengages for pudding.

Don't forget to poaster pictures to keep Fussy Britches happy.

Not happy. Quiet.

He dislikes Happy.

🤣 :nana:

Wine poached whitefish in a white wine and cream volute sauce with shallots and parsley; rice cooked in chicken stock with sweet pepper and green onion.

Dessert is a Lemon cream puff made from pate choux pastry filled with lemon pudding and glazed with a lemon icing. This particular serving was also topped with a drizzle of chocolate and dusted with confectioner's sugar.

That particular image has me considering making a berry custard and topping with a mulled red wine reduction. I probably won't do it, but it might be interesting tasting.

<-- is very much happy. Also prefers quiet, because quiet is a rare occurrence here at The Hotel Of Eternia. Whole lotta screaming and begging going on all the dam time.

Yeah, I know. I was teasing you. Quiet is nice, too, but you lot have that collection of Carbon WaterTM denying libturds, past, present, and future to torment until they howl for less - and then they get more. A thing to behold, for certain, howling and all.

They don't howl. They show up at the arrival kiosk sniveling and begging and demanding to see the guy in charge because they KNOW there's been some kind of mistake!!!

What they think they know and what Mr. MorningStar actually knows are 2 completely different things. What those 2 things are is that, 1) He'll bet your soul against a fiddle of gold because he knows he's better than you; and, 2) you ain't Johnny and can't play a violin.

OTOH...

<-- DOES know how to play a violin.

Now, about the overwhelming dearth of pichurs in this thread. Someone who happily fetches Mr. MorningStar's laundry from the dry cleaners on the rare occasion when he's asked to do so, could, maybe, accidentally, casually mention how that's a mistake...

I'm all but certain that I have never held a violin.

Beef.

Lovely Argentinian beef that Trump is buying, bred on Argentinian farms subsidized with US dollars, that China has rejected because it contains banned antibiotics.

Too low a standard for Chinese consumers but good enough for Americans.

I sing bass in Allah's Heavenly Chorus, so I'm good.

And those virgins and all the head on the side . . . .

Are you sure you're understanding what you heard correctly about all the head you think you're going to get?

Because a phrase like that conjures up images of a toothbrush and seemingly endless hectares of gleaming white tiles which are purportedly very filthy despite how they look to the naked eye of the miscreant bathroom attendant.

I would suggest you read the fine print of your contract because TANSTAAFL.

I'm not coming there.

It is the will of Allah.

He holds the Higher Ground.
