where do you hide your toys?

...So I have skipped over this thread a few times thinking that there was nothing to add since I keep my toys hidden in a box in my closet. Then I remembered (when I was at work of all places:eek: )a time that I had to quickly hide my toy of the moment.

My favorite pillow I keep on my bed has a zipper cover so it can be removed and washed or the pillow inside replaced etc.... (Yeah Wise..if you are reading this...THAT pillow:p ) Anyway, in my haste, I just unzipped the case and threw my toy in there zipping it up and never giving it another moments thought. Actually, I forgot about it!

A couple days later, my 4 yr old and I were laying on the bed and he happened to be using that pillow. Just before I drifted off to sleep I heard that distinct sound of a zipper...and it alllllllllllllllllll came back to me.:p I did manage to get the pillow away before any further investigating could take place..............:D Needless to say, I am a little more careful about such things now...:)

In one of the drawers under the waterbed. We have in the past kept some of them in a box distinctly marked "Electrical Hazard."

That's got to be one of the greatest ways I can think of to keep prying eyes away! :D

Yeah, and if they're shocked at the contents they can't say they were not explicitly warned.

We had a bad experience with one of our teenagers. We were hiding them in the very back of a cabinet in our bed room bath. We had to get on our needs and reach way back to get them out. She found them! She had to be searching and were not found be accident. One was missing and we found it in her room. We do not trust her much now. At 17 yrs I expected her to respect privacy of others and not disassemble my room. We now have purchased a small gun safe, which has the ammo on one shelf and toys on the other. Look out for those nosey/curious teens!

We kept them underneath a bedside table, for quick and easy access, until a friend's dog found them one night during a dinner parter and hauled one of them into the dining room for all to see. Now, we keep them in a box, under the bedside table!

As opposed to not trusting your teen, have you ever had the conversation about respecting other's privacy and space?? It's not like she doesn't know what sex toys are at her age...she KNOWS. Why not confront her about what she did and talk about it openly & frankly as opposed to not trusting her.

Lust Engine,
We did have the talk about privacy and confronted her! It's just that trust to me is something that is earned back by there actions. It has not been long ago.
I think what made her not grossed out about it is that we are the part time parents. Meaning the mom has custody and she visits a couple of weekends a month. She is not as connected with us as she would be with the mother.

well I don't really have any toys as such... but I do have a reasonable condom collection.
I keep them in a 3.5" diskette box, which has a fliptop and a clear panel... very obvious if you look.
Alas it's too small to hold the collection but can you say lucky dip? :p

Anyway, I keep the box on a bench near the head of my bed well out in the open where everyone can see.
I mean everybody should be mature enough to not care :p

Alas this might be one of those cases where you guys just might have to buy a lock for your own bedroom, Good Lord knows if she's going to filch your toys, next it's going to be porn, cash, jewels and all sorts of other things she can hock.

I guess there needs to be a talk- a non-confrontational one with her about repsecting people's privacy. The danger is what you consider non-confrontational might not be in her perspective though.

Good luck.

With other adults yes, but what about smal children or like a poster earlier- an animal strolling through thinking it's their chew toy?

My wife and I aren't pervs, but we have been collecting the occasional toys, videos and whatnot for years. Problem is, the stash has grown so large I'm wondering if we need to add a porn wing onto our home.

We keep it all in a big locked box in the closet -- and live in mortal fear about it. We're not so concerned that our kids will open it. But what happens if -- god forbid -- we both perish in an accident or something? We can just imagine our grieving, 70-year-old parents discovering the contents of our porn stash. It's a thought worse than death!

Maybe we should add a clause to our will: "If we die, only a friendly neighbor can open the big locked box in the closet."

Oh, I wouldn't necessarily say that. My daughter, it's true, did filch one vibrator and two of my Nancy Friday books but that was it.

Alrighty... what are the consequences of her larceny then? ANY??

Oh I was specifically referring to this house... no children here... and the animals aren't the type to be interested, one has a horse toy and the other just prefers to sleep on my bed :p

She probably bought herself better toys and she still has my books.

Okay...now that I know what she might have done, but what about you folks being the parents?? What did you do to rectify the situation??? Wasn't there at least some sort of confrontation to set her straight????

I would've at least demanded my personal stuff back IF you know for a fact she took it without your permission.

If I had to, I'd hide them where I hid my sons toys.........in a locked suitcase.

right now I keep mine with my underwear, but my daughter is getting older and i fear she will start going through my drawers. All these locked boxes are fine, but what about those spur of the moment times when you need them right away? By the time you get them out, the mood is gone.

We hide them in the closet. We have a box for the videos and dvds, and we keep the toys nearby. I usually hide them back in the closet when my parents come to visit. My father has a propensity to snoop, though it would serve him right if he found them. Somehow, he'd still managed to make it all about what I was doing, rather than how inappropriate it was that he was snooping.
