World Cup 2026

It's pretty bad when you get a yellow card and you're not even on the pitch

Tough to lose when you were the better team but you have to put the ball in the back of the net.

Here's the thing about this Balogun situation. He didn't whine about it, he even thanked the officials after the game, because he was trying to set a good example of sportsmanship for young people. The team didn't appeal the card.

Then the orange fuckwit complained to his daddy, like he did his whole life when things didn't go his way. The team didn't ask for this. And now they are in this untenable position. It absolutely sucks.

I wasn't even a supporter per se. But I thought they had a mature talented team. I was happy for them.

Honestly, it almost feels like the only solution is for Balogun to Become Ill and not play. But... fuck.

This is why we can't have Nice Things.

Ten-man England defended bravely to beat Mexico 3-2 to advance to the quarter-finals. We saw two quality goals from Jude Bellingham and a penalty from Harry Kane but both players ran their socks off to support the defence as Mexico laid siege to the England goal for most of the second half after Jarrell Quansah received a red card nine minutes after half time.
With 12 added minutes and constant controversy on and off the field it was a night of tension and drama in the red-hot cauldron of the Azteca Stadium, but the Three Lions held firm to make it to the last eight.
I wonder if towering defender Dan Burn, a second half substitute, will keep his place to try to nullify the aerial threat of Erling Haaland when England meet Norway in Miami on Saturday.

Lovely

It’s the WC dodgy decisions to favour the home team are historically part a parcel of the whole thing 🀭
Belgium are a really poor team USA should beat them easily whomever they have available
I bought a Belgium away jersey because it had this great RenΓ© Magritte reference inside the collar. (My favorite artist. πŸ₯°) Ironic now that this has come up.

Again, what a clusterfuck.

Sad to see Neymar bowing out of the international stage today. One of the absolute greats of the game at his peak. And his own demise seems to kind of sum up Brazil right now who just aren’t Brazil enough. I mean who’d have ever thought the Norwegians would have twice as many passes.

Spain should end Ronaldo’s international career tomorrow. Tho there’s every chance he plays in the 2050 WC
