Anyone watch that series "Dead Like Me"? I just caught the first episode in reruns and it seems interesting. Wondering if theseries works, or if it flops after the first few episodes?
No, its pretty good overall. Just to let you know, there's only two seasons, it was on 2003/04 I believe, used to catch it on Showcase.

I was hesitant to admit it until now, but... i am a Sci-Fi fan for life. Since age 8 with Sta trek:TNG.

Martin was the first. Now Joe Barbera's gone. That's two very painful strokes for fans of animation and comic books. I wonder what great will finish off the death trio this time?

I agree, truly a shame to lose 2 such great minds. What trul makes me sad is that my kids have no modern equivalent that I can think of, so these art forms may be lost to future generations.

I recently got around to watching "The Island", I thought it was alright, not nearly the bust that it got labelled as.

Star Wars geek right here.
Do you get Moviemax, been playing all the episodes as of late, been watching bits and pieces myself.

Anyone got any opinions on "Dark City", have it on tape, had heard about it in the past, was gonna watch it sometime?

YEAHH!!!! There are others here

Major Sci-fi / fantasy / horror geek checking in here.
The new Battlestar Gallactica
any Dr.Who but have to say that so far the fav's are Tom Baker and the new series.
Star Trek (all of them)
Matix series
Star wars
and I could go on and on
As far as books go so far I have to that Lovecraft's Cthulu mythos is by far my all time favorite.
I would also be out of line by not mentioning that I am also a good 'ol pen and paper gamer and damn pround of it.

Glad to see that I am not the only one here who likes to use their imagination.

I swear to god I witnessed the hubby and both of the eldest boys here have a freaking orgasm while they watched the trailer for the upcoming Live action Transformers movie.

I loved "Dark City". seen it four times. The color, the story, the visuals got me first. If you got a thing for big mysteries and comic books, I would think you'd like it. ;)

Anybody read "Day Of The Triffids"? I know a movie was made a long time ago, but they should make an updated version.
I read the book about 8 years ago after seeing the movie on TV. The book is so much more amazing. I wish someone would do a big expensive version of it that includes more of the sub-plots from the book.
I tried to write my own screen-play based on the book but I didn't get past page 3 :p

Hell, my guys'll love it just because it's got big mechanical things in it. Now if they ever made a live action Zoids movie my guys would just expire from the joy of it.
