Christian Conservatives Face Reality: Increasingly, They Stand Alone

"By all indications, conservative Christians are poised to vote again overwhelmingly for former President Donald J. Trump in November. But now, they are facing the reality that many of their views are not widely held, and that to advance their goals nationally they need power at the highest levels — power that Mr. Trump suddenly seems less inclined to give.

In that way, the coming election feels like a referendum on the role of conservative Christianity in American public life. And some conservative Christians worry that it is a race that is harder and harder to win."

I'm pretty sure Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin were deists, not Christians.

Jefferson supposedly had a Bible where he removed all the miracles from the New Testament and Franklin was a known womanizer, famous for many things including saying that most people stop living at 25.

Your point?

Economics are not based on Religion
What is a tariff?
Who can apply them ?
Wii controls the money raised?
Why aren’t they controlled by CONGRESS ?
The Constitution puts the purse strings closest to the People in the HOUSE and Senate

A tariff is a tax levied on imported goods or services by a country. Tariffs are a type of trade barrier that can increase the price of imported products, making domestically produced goods more competitive.

Tariffs can be applied in a number of ways, including:
  • Ad valorem tariff: A percentage of the value of the imported goods
  • Specific tariff: A set amount, such as $100 per ton
  • Compound tariff: A combination of both ad valorem and specific tariffs
Countries use tariffs for a variety of reasons, including:

    • Protecting domestic industries: Tariffs can help protect industries like agriculture and renewable energy

    • Retaliation: Tariffs can be used as a way to respond to unfair trade practices by other countries

    • Revenue: Tariffs can help raise revenue for the government
Tariffs can have a number of negative consequences, including:
    • Hurting consumers: Tariffs can hurt domestic consumers by increasing prices
    • Creating tensions: Tariffs can create tensions by favoring certain industries or regions over others
    • Trade wars: Tariffs can lead to a cycle of retaliation with other countries, sometimes known as a trade war

So!! If your supplier brings in goods and pays a TAX!! That tax will be passed on to you as a consumer!!

If you produce the same goods in America? You can easily raise your price to a bit below the same DEMAND value that is set by the tariff!

Tariffs raise international shipping costs. They hurt supply chains. Those costs are also passed on to the consumer !!

Duh!!

I think about trans this way. I like who I am. I liked myself when I slept with men, and l like myself now that I sleep with women. I also have a hard time getting 'trans'. But to me, that's really proof that it has to be real. Why would a man put on bra without a really good reason? Why would anyone take hormones to change how their body? Why even consider surgery that could be argued a form of mutilation.

It has to be real. Nobody does that to see a woman in the bathroom, particularly in an age when one can go to the web and see women go to the bathroom on each other. This must be a deep and powerful feeling, something that really feels like it's at the center of who a trans person is.

And let's look at Jesus. Look at who he uplifted. It was an adulteress who saw him as a prophet, and certainly none of the Pharissess or Sadducees where the priestly orders of his time. It was a Levite who waked by a man who'd been assaulted on a highway. If you've never studied theology, Levites were a subgroup in Judaism who were in the priestly orders. It was a Samaritan, a man who had major disagreements with the leaders of then Judaism. He took tax collectors as apostles. Roman soldiers recognized him while priests scoffed.

Jesus consistently reached down to the bottom Lepers were fine, and he consistently stood against those who used others.

Trans people are being used as victims, to gin up culture wars to make sure the vote goes the right way. And to be fair, many people don't get trans. But it has to be real. Otherwise no one would go through what they do to find the other side. Jesus taught that you are to love the Lord God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as you love ourselves. IF y ou can't do that, then how Christian can you claim to be?

Bigotry is not Christian. it's against everything Jesus, and frankly the prophets taught. And if you have to hate people to uplift yourself, how can you claim to follow Jesus?
