I enjoy and cringe at this thread. It should be required reading for all new members before they are permitted to send PMs.

Does anyone think that would change things?

In theory, yes. However, you know they would not read it. Most of these show they aren't even bothering to read signatures or profiles. But yes, in theory if people read a little, there would be less cocktars, unsolicited dick pics, boring "wanna cam" messages.

I don't actually mind unsolicited dick pictures and random perv. Hell, the stranger dick pics give me a reason to use my bizarre image collection. However, in my profile I say I will do this, and yet when I reply with meatloaf baby, they are confused. Hence, one can only conclude they will not read anything provided.

Of course, these aren't my hall of fame, not even close. My personal hall of fame is hate mail. There are seriously men who come to Lit to yell at wives for being on Lit. I find it is usually posting pictures that triggers it. The real irony is they don't even see it as misogyny. Like, I will admit I am a little sensitive to being told I can't do something because I am female, and spent a good deal of my life picking up "typical male" hobbies, traits, and even my career partly as "fuck you, I can do it too, and better". Thus I will call them out when they say "a woman should not do that" or "a wife" "a mother" etc. I will say that sounds incredibly sexist that a man is welcome to share but it is offensive if I do. Then they complain that I am pulling the fake woman card and it has nothing to do with me being a woman. Even after they actually said "a woman should not" . Topped off with not a single one has ever been able to tell me a single man they have chastised for being here. Not a single cocktar messaged, ever. Yet they still cling to it has nothing to do with me being female and they have some sort of moral high ground.

It is mind boggling that they really can't see what they are.

My personal favorite was the man who said it was women like me who prevented him from finding the proper women on lit. He could not elaborate in any way that made sense, but apparently whores like me sharing tits are the reason the single wholesome virginal women of lit refuse to become his future stepford wife. Well I guess they are pretty big, maybe the proper women are afraid they will come right for them is some sort of virtual titty attack.

You know.... I'm occasionally jealous of the posters here. Free entertainment... And after a fashion; validation.

Not particularly great validation mind you; bit comparatively I just don't exist.

My CP here has been increasingly inexplicably broken. My PMs are back on, can't turn it off; suddenly that dreaded "unread 1" means something again and it's driving me insane.

I've heard many times people say they cannot be at everyone's beck and call. This is as much the same as opposite; I cannot let myself become a slave again to maddening emptiness.

FWIW, I'm relatively confirmedly female and usually average about 10 PM exchanges a year, honestly I don't think it's even that many. Over the course of 9 years on Lit I've emptied my inbox twice, so that should paint a picture of how many PMs I get. That's fine by me, btw, because I'm not really the PMing sort anyways.

This year has been incredibly active for me. I just checked, I've had 15 PM exchanges already, not counting a few answers to a PM I sent to a bunch of people requesting they edit a post they made to delete a link to my pic. What's changed is that I've posted on the PG a few times. The PGers really seem like sending PMs, BDSMers less so in my experience.

The number of PMs you get, asshatty or other, is not a sign of your worth as a human being or Litster one way or another. But I suggest that if you want to get PMs you start the conversation yourself and/or go to the PG!

Th PM function is difficult to keep up with in the first place. By the time alert emails apoear on the phone, a message can be old. People are impatient. And, I agree... Seems that most of them just want quick get off sessions.

I actually enjoy playing out scenarios, writing a short story ad you go, and really explorung ideas. But it seems that not many have time or patience for that.
