Contest III "Wet" Voting

Credit for the inspiration

This is a note to give credit to a photographer I don't know for the photograph I used to draw my entry for this contest. I found the image sometime ago while surfing german and french eros blogs. I loved the image and hoped I'd get a chance to draw it. Trouble is I have know clue who the photographer is ... so if any of you do please help ...

patty :rose:

thanks to halo_n_horns ....

... And the photographer's name is ... drum roll please ... Vlastimil Kula.

Say that one three times fast.

Thanks for getting that in there, Patty.

Note to everyone: While using photography done from others as reference material is typically very widely accepted, its always best to reference the photo(s) and the photographer's name(s) that was used for the artwork. Having known, or at least been associated with, several professional photographers I can say without reservation that many of those people are, to say the least, egotystical and highly protective of their work. Its always easier to deal with someone who has been given proper credit than someone who has not.

Also, if using your own photography, it would be best to reference the photo(s) that you took JUST IN CASE they bare any kind of resemblence to another photogrpher's work.

While I doubt that our little corner of the www would ever stir up such trouble, its always better safe than sorry.

Does that mean I should post all the pics that I took and used in each piece that I submitted? Most of mine have 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 pics merged into the final image.

I'd say that's a good idea for two reasons: 1) What I stated above. 2) I think it would be extremely interesting to see all the components of your works. There's probably others who would enjoy that as well.

OK :)

Do you suppose I should do it in the old contest threads where I entered each piece? Like I said I have a lot of pics that I used for each.

I need to get busy hunting them all down. I think I burned some of them to disk...now where did I put that disk hmmm?

I'm probably being overly cautious, but I would say to post'em to the threads that the final products were in.

However, being that you're the originator of the pics (yes?), perhaps just putting them in your gallery thread would be more than sufficient and appropriate.

Here are the 2 pics I used for the final piece "rain". Both taken by me with my crappy digital camera.

That's just too cool. I've been away from photo-manipulation for too long. I wouldn't have even began to think that you did as much as those two photos needed to bring them together. Thanks for posting them. :rose:

:)

I love to play around with my photoshop. It relaxes me and I learn something in the process. Plus I come up with all sorts of cool pics ;)

Thanks halo!

yes, you do[/i[ (come up with cool stuff)!

I think your work becomes even [i[more[/i[ impressive, seeing a bit of the process.

There is way more vision, skill, cretaivity than just a few filters on someone else's photo (or even one's own).

YOU actually show mastery of the tool of photoshop.

bravo!

Oh wow! Thank you for that DG :)

I am still in the learning phase though. I never took a class...I just play around till I learn what every little menu offers and what gives me the desired effect. One of these days I want to get a tablet and see what freedom of creativity that offers me. Oh, and I also want to upgrade to the latest greatest version of photoshop. I hear it has more features than the current 7 that I am using.

I hope I keep on learning every time I crank the program up. The sky's the limit baby!
