Do Sadists Generally Preffer Submissives to Masochists?

Either I'm slipping terribly, or nobody here had a clue who I was refering to in my reply to alice on the previous page... not a single reply, giggle or spew... *sighs*

Either that, or I'm way older than the rest of y'all and so the references went *swoooooosh* over the heads...

Because I LOOK more like Carl Malden and ACT more like Rosco P. Coltrain...

*shrugs* That's just the way it is...
Sorry for not responding, Geoff.

I don't think you look like Carl Malden, and I don't know who Rosco P. Coltrain is. That's my excuse! :)

Edited to add: I ask so many idiotic questions, I suppose one more won't hurt. WHO is Rosco P. Coltrain?

Ok.

Back to your original second/third question.

By challenge, i assume you mean a la Dangerous Liaisons, corrupting the incorruptible. While it may be a crowning achievement to accomplish, it ain't all it's cracked up to be. More often than not, i equate such a feat to Phyrric victory.

Re the third question, humiliation, whose, the sadist or the dominant?

*chuckles*

Rosco P. Coltrain was the hick sherriff in "The Dukes of Hazzard".... one of the worst cases of Hollywood stereotyping ever. But dayum... I'd watch the show just for Daisy.... *grin*

I was trying to steer away from the "Liaisons" references, as I have used it in so many past examples. But, yes.

I was speaking of the dominant being humiliated in that case. I was assuming submitting would stir feelings of shame to someone who was not accustomed to it.

Thanks. I'm not a TV fan, but I've heard of the show.

Geoff - Very clever, working both a different "Carl" and a different "Rosco" into your response to my post on my fantasies.

And... fyi... self-deprecating humor is always charming. :)

That's a very sticky wicket, and why i asked.

You can humiliate someone without forcing submission.

You can physically/emotionally hurt someone without forcing submission.

i, for one, occasionally enjoy the vicious bite at the neck near the nape. While i equate my pain threshold as medium low, it does get the juices flowing. At no time, however, do i ever feel like i've submitted.

You're probably right.

Next thing you know, you'll be telling me that RJMasters isn't a cowboy!!!

Actually, I use to ride rodeo back when I was 18-19 in the marines from the 29 palms rodeo team. We competed in quite a few rodeos.

My greatest and last ride was a bull named "Kanasa City 99". He was the biggest MF in the pen and I drew him.

I enjoy wearing boots and a leather belt. My stenson I wear occasionally whenever the mood stirkes.

I do have a bit of a southern accent, though I don't think its very pronounced, others tell me otherwise..

Does any of that make me a cowboy? Probably not.

But the fact I do spit tobacco with amazing accuracy up to 6 feet, can outfish most people for trout, streelhead, bass, crapies or catfish, I can hunt with gun but prefer my compound bear bow, I enjoy country music and being called a redneck is something I just grin at. I'll often pass you by if you insult me, but you insult my family or friends I'll knock you on your ass. I hold firm to what I believe in. I love my country, I believe that three of the best places to fuck are in a barn, the hood of a truck and a river bank after going skinny dipping. I believe in having respect for your elders and setting an example for those younger than you to follow.

Does any of that make me a cowboy? Nope. But the way I reckon it, it does make me a country boy at heart.

I wear the AV of a cowboy because it reminds of a much younger me when I use to own a set of yellow leather gloves and a jean jacket when I stacked bails of hay, and also because it looks like I am looking down at a women who is laying in the hay at my feet tied to a horse's stall; and her heart is racing with fear and excitement, panties wet, as she watches me put on my yellow leather gloves.

Is he white? Cause quite often white people who aren't racist won't notice racism. Me and my mom and my sister were like that till we made friends with a black woman. We were SHOCKED at the way that some people would treat her - we thought that their wasn't racism in Oregon.

Do you think as a Sadist you are more inclined to be attracted to a submissive person instead because they yield to you out of the desire to please, not because they enjoy the pain aspect?

Better yet, do you ever find yourself preffering a dominant to either one of those just for the sheer thrill of the challenge and humiliation?

For this first one, I don't see submissive and masochist as being mutually exclusive. I for one am both so while parts of our play and life are related more to SM, other parts of our life and/or play are related to D/s....they co-exist happily.

Not sure if I can answer for everyone, but my thought would be if a Sadist felt drawn stronger toward a Dominant for the thrill of challenge and humiliation they might perhaps have some self esteem/image issues to work through. The relationship between Sadist and masochist or submissive can be just as challenging and humiliating with a much more positive outcome for all involved I would think. I know for us, there is never a lack of challenge simply because whatever our desire and inclinations, we are human and prone to any number of variables which prevent things being 100% predictable...of course that also is because we develop our own challenges on a regular basis as opposed to doing just what comes easy for either of us. :cathappy:

Also a lot of subs aren't submissive with anyone but their dominant. So if the dom is looking for someone that's not easy to dominate they can still end up with a sub.

Definately....LOL, I pity anyone who dares attempt to dominate me apart from F because it just ain't going to happen on my part, and he is likely to get a 'little' irritated himself and take things into his own hands. :catroar:

Given your avatar and the "no mercy" line, I initially thought the "angelic" part of your name was meant as a bit of a joke.

After reading Quaint, I inferred that "angelic" meant you struck from the sky.

However, if I understand your recent post on the hobbies thread correctly, you named yourself after one of the Morag Tong.

That's what I meant when I said "the quaint led me astray".

Breathtaking photograph, btw. Thanks for posting it.

RJ,

I sincerely hope that my attempt at humor did not offend you. I was absolutely not accusing you, or anyone else, of being disingenuous.

As for your response here.... * blushes profusely * ..... it would be really, really inappropriate for me to tell you what I think of it!

Let's just say that Rebecca's avatar (the hands) used to be my favorite. Given the accompanying commentary, the cowboy just pushed those hands right down to second place. :)

Catalina I live in Cronulla where the Race Riots took place on Sunday . There is no doubt in my mind from what I witnessed first hand they were racially motivated. I get teary for good reasons when I view the Australian Flag. On Sunday I felt shame. After the 4th consecutive day of helicopters 'buzzing' there was no peace to be found in our normaly lovely Community. The people participating may well 'own' the beach but they travelled here to do so. Cronulla consists in major by the retired ,the elderly, young families, sea lovers and all within such of diverse and embraced ethnicity. Roads in and out were blocked, Police in full combat gear , Police Cars, Fire Brigade, Mobile Command Units ,Police on horse back for both crowd control and to permit ambulances in and out with victems of the violence that erupted. Yes its a fact that the two men that bashed the Volunteer Surf Lifesavers were of a Middle Eastern Heritage it does not condone however the conduct of the 'Australians' (ie 'white', tanned , drunk , ignorant, racist, swearing ....charming huh). Interesting to recall as well that all in Australia are infact immigrants with exception of the Aborigine (lets not go there shall we, wouldn't want to make people feel uncomfortable pfffffffffffffffffft)
Apologies to all for mini hijack, I have been upset over this for days and never would have dreamed of posting this on the Boards. Catalina drawing attention to events of recent days and the fact that for now I take no pride on my profile information 'southern beaches' for good reason currently I was unable to resist posting.
