First EVER Supreme Court Leak: Roe V. Wade overturned

It’s interesting that so many of the screamers fear things that are extremely unlikely to materialize. The good news as time passes, they will come to realize that their deep anxiety was unwarranted.
The same thing was said about Roe...yet here we are. Lobbyists for evangelicals are consistently working for legislation that goes beyond acceptable and constitutional. The same exists for fun control.

You ignoring reality doesn't care about "unlikely to materialize".

The same thing was said about Roe? Wtf are you talking about? I was in high school when Roe came down.

That roe was precedent and that abortion would always be legal.

You are blind to what legislation is being crafted all over the US meant to push the envelope on what is acceptable. If you don't think there are laws being crafted right now that deal with obergfell and Griswold, you're absolutely blind

The question never arises if the court decides that the 4th Amendment's Right to privacy extends to all medical decisions between a patient and medical provider. The 14th never comes into the picture because "person" as currently defined in the law requires that the child be "born alive."

What you're advocating is not only changing the law regarding Roe, but also a complete revamp of the legal system in order to fit your views. How is this not different than those who support Roe as written? Is your position that mob rule ok if it's your team which comes out on top and that the US runs on mob rule now?
I'm not pushing my views in particular but those that are already in the public realm and reflected in the changing state laws on abortion. Those states and the people in them aren't going to be satisfied with a federal law that embraces the abortion-on-demand position and the controversy will continue to rage on as it has for 50 years. If a federal law is passed and it doesn't embrace abortion on demand, the other side of the argument will go nuts and the controversy will rage on as before. I don't see the left or the right compromising on the issue.

Here's where that leak has brought us to, as plannned:

Trump supporters harassed secretaries of state in multiple states outside their homes.

This isn't a liberal or conservative thing.

It's not nearly as bad as when you 🤡s were convinced Obama was coming for your guns.

Abortion rights advocates claimed Roe was precedent and would/should always remain legal. They are still claiming that. And it will remain so in a majority of states where the overwhelming majority of the American population lives. And it will be illegal or heavily restricted in other states. Why? Because despite 50 years of Roe, the country remains deeply divided on abortion. As the WSJ noted in today’s edition:

“In 1975 Gallup found that 21% of Americans said abortion should be always legal, 22% never legal, and 54% legal only in certain circumstances. Last year the figures were 32% always legal, 19% never, and 48% sometimes. Whatever the High Court thought it was doing in Roe and again in Casey, it didn’t come close to settling the debate. And judges are ill equipped to draw the distinctions in abortion policy that a plurality of Americans say they want.”

The pending SCOTUS decision has nothing to do with Obergfell or Griswold. The legal principles are clearly and explicitly distinguished in Alito’s draft, and more to the point, the country is not at all divided on same sex marriage, interracial marriage, or contraceptives.

We don‘t have tens of thousands of people descending upon the nation’s capital each year to march against gay marriage, interracial marriage, or contraception in freezing January weather like we do for the annual March for Life event. Gallup polling shows well over 90% approve of contraception and interracial marriage. When Obergefell came down, 58% approved. Just 7 years later, it’s shot up to 70%. It will probably keep rising.

You guys are free to believe your crazy ass predictions. My prediction is your anger and anxiety will diminish with each passing day they fail to materialize. The abortion industry will be squashed in some states, and will thrive in others. That’s it.

Recent polls I've seen show 64% support.

I just see a court that has struck down privacy protections and realize that people, specifically religious freaks, will take advantage of that to advance their agenda. Whether you believe they will or not doesn't matter....they've been doing so for decades. And they've got the ear of an entire party who loves their votes.

Abortion pills will become the go-to..so will self induced abortion. The second of which have historically been the norm when abortion was restricted as it will be shortly.

Yes it is. The difference is if the left gets the chance they will assault one of these Justices or worse.

Actually, this isn't true and the fact that it isn't true is why abortion supporters aren't talking about how the draft decision in Dobbs puts the question back under State control rather than Federal control.

Someone on one of the talk shows mentioned that the number of States which potentially will outlaw abortion ranges from 0 to 3. Those States, if any, which do so will face legal challenges and keep this issue tied up for a few more generations.
26 states have trigger laws already in place
south dakota's kristi noem has already declared that if the final ruling returns rights to the states, she is making it law in s.d that NO unborn child will be aborted.
back to the classroom, idiot, or read actual, factual news
Actual laws are already in place that get enacted immediately once roe is overturned.

No rumors are needed.

abortion pills already being targeted... some places refusing to allow them to be posted, others with laws dictating they must be taken in the presence of a doctor (and prescribed by, too, i believe)

I'm sitting here listening to the likes of my dumbass senator Warren and NY's Chuck Schumer screaming to a fever pitch, hypocrites. What I say to them is ***SHUT THE FUCK UP *** you have the house, the senate and the WH, TABLE IT!!! VOTE ON IT!!! and CODIFY THE DAMN BILL. No need to wait till June. Stop the fucking whining, riots in the streets and codify it already.

That's the weakness of being the Democrats/liberals. We're the good guys. We won't end the filibuster to save the fucking planet. Just like we won't actually shut down the government. Remember when the Republicans refused to budge under Obama and lowered our Credit Rating? Remember when the Dems did that to Trump? Oh that second one didn't happen did it?

Remember when Dems shut down Trump's Stimulis package? I don't.

Remember when Dems got on the news and screeched for weeks that a president shouldn't be allowed to seat a Justice in the final weeks of their administration? Did I miss where that one happened to?

Downside of being the good guy is you never go for the throat.

Two sham impeachments later. LMFAO Yah you're the good guys. At least show a little self awareness.

You are confusing being "good guys" with deliberate and dangerous incompetence. Good guys don't let the bad guys run amuck. Good guys take their jobs seriously. Good guys don't put women's reproductive rights at risk.
