The problem with the senate bill is it allows an arbitrary number of 5000 per day, that’s not what Americans want. The number should be zero and admit individuals based on our needs as a country not some globalist definition of what the world needs. No, it caps the number of encounters at 5000. Not every one of those 5000 is accepted but no one above 5000 is even considered.
Asylum law does not allow zero to be admitted. And disallowing refugees is a non starter to a compromise. The Geneva convention is the reason.

Remain in Mexico was the right approach, not catch and release. The law states that asylum seekers will be verified and adjudicated at the point of entry. I believe the law states that people entering illegally in between ports of entry can and should be deported by law. No where in the law does it state that migrants will be transported from country of origin to the US on the taxpayer dollar.
Right now 46 is actively pushing to have illegals have access to the VA system, a system already overtaxed with veterans. As a vet, and as one who is close to many older vets, that is pissing us off..It was Trump who actually started enforcing immigration laws, Biden who is ignoring them.
