Say Something

(*^_^*)

Do I?

I might have practiced a more upbeat sound... (>_>) In my head. It's always far less enthusiastic than I plan. :p

I think it's an American thing that everybody always sounds very enthusiastic. I sound weird when I speak English just because of that. I try to sound more enthusiastic than I normally do and then I sound just... weird.

I think you sound very sophisticated. :) Definitely not weird.

You're probably right about the American enthusiasm thing. If something good happens and I'm excited, people that don't know me get very confused. o_O; "this is excitement?"

Yep. (-。-;

For special occasions I tend to fantasize that I will be a chipper and enthusiastic person and then I get there and fall completely flat. :sigh: Though, the recording was done just after finishing a piece and I was quite happy with it. So maybe that was my happy sound?

Interesting observation :)

Bumping this thread.

New year, new voices? Or old voices who want to replace the expired messages? :)

Going to do this later. :)

Also, Seela, you should be doing some of those guided meditation recordings. I have no idea if there is any actual money to be made to doing them, but if there is, you would be rolling in it with your beautiful voice!

ETA: Somehow I missed Meek's post. You sound awesome, too!

I sound sophisticated because I do hard math.

I sometimes try to make myself to be more entusiastic than I naturally am and the people who know me always find it funny. But yeah, you sound happy. Happy is good! :)

Interesting observation :)

Do you think there's any truth to it? :)

I think it would depend perhaps still on area accent, just like we were saying with different languages, to me not all Americans sound upbeat, Scandinavians sound humorous, but drier.

A big revelation to me in truth was German. And I hear more polish now in local area, and while I cannot ' get to grips' with it it sounds not how I imagined, the women here speak in higher register generally than Russian women I know.

Sure, the local accent plays a big role, but generally American women tend to sound very enthusiastic to me.

Polish women often speak in a very high register. When I'm around Polish women I do that too and after a while of speaking either my throat hurts or I can sing really well. It's funny, you never know which it is. I think I should warm up my voice before speaking Polish. :D

I don't think I've ever heard anybody say something like that about my voice, so sweet, thank you so much.

Yes, do this. I remember liking your accent a lot! :)

I feel silly spamming the thread, but oh well. I started it, I can spam as much as I want, right?

I was asked to make a new recording in Finnish like I did the previous time, because apparently Finnish sounds funny.

So here it is, with a special shout out to Iris.

But what's really interesting about the recording, to me at least, is that I first speak a little English and immediately when I change to Finnish my register drops and when I switch back to English it rises again. One day I'm gonna have to record myself speaking other languages too just to see where the pitch lands. :)

Haha Seela, I heard you loud and clear!
I will not be covering any electical radiators any time soon.

I might record something again when I find some quiet time in this house.

Whew! My work here is done. :D

I hope you and Elle will contribute. :)

What it is is that we have 45 million dollars we need to move from Nigeria into accounts in other countries, and we are seeing who has the best telephone voice to open these accounts. When its done Winnie Mandela is going to give us a million each for our trouble and group endeavour, then we are having a group BDSM play party, where we do not much play or sex, but sit and chat about life.

Now, we see from our computer records that there is an urgent problem with your Microsoft windows software......

You really shouldn't go telling everyone about our plans. I really didn't want the millions to be shared by so many.

Naturally I had to record myself speaking other languages too to track the pitch. Finnish is by far the lowest, Polish is clearly the highest and the rest fall somewhere in between.

This was interesting. :)

I did this, too, but I'm going to go bury the results in the backyard now because that was very embarrassing, even though I was the only one listening. :D

For anyone who's curious, English is the highest, my terribly ungrammatical Spanish the lowest, and my downright atrocious Dutch is somewhere in the middle. I don't know enough of any of the other languages I'm studying to even attempt to say anything in them yet.

It's always embarrassing for me to hear myself speak especially in a foreign language, so I can relate. I only notice the mistakes in pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary. So posting me speaking English is a huge deal to me. I'm not going to let people here hear me speak the other languages.

Besides I have an odd hang up about my voice. Many moons ago I tried to have phone sex with someone and was accused of being a man based on my voice. So there's that. I've been very conscious about my voice ever since. Stupid. Maybe I should have phone sex in Polish. :D

Here's me again. :)

I could possibly be persuaded to post the two foreign languages I can successfully butcher, as long as everybody promises to keep their hysterical laughter where I can't hear it.

Awesome! Thanks for posting. :)

I'd love to hear you speak other languages if you feel brave enough to post. No laughing, I promise!
