This is a great call. I took a flight somewhere once and put this on (not the first time), the attendant came over after the introduction like "are you ok sir?"

Every time I watch it I cry every single time when his wife passes away

I don't even like romance as a genre, and yet for some reason this scene is, to me, perfection. I love Pride and Prejudice. I'm not even sad and I still want to rewatch it tonight.

And "what excellent boiled potatoes" has lived in my head rent free for going on 20 years now which is making me feel exceptionally old

For whatever reason film’s not really the media I gravitate to when I’m feeling sad. But, when I’m not feeling well, any one of a number of empty action or comedy films will do. I chose this one just because I love Swayze and being nice is excellent advice.
