The writing live thread is starting to heat up. This guy ^^^
is kicking ass.
..
A thought, gentle poets, I propose we use the thread for next challenge.
Write live for 30 days. People are waiting. :)

I think that sounds like a fun idea. Perhaps a good way to start off the new year? December tends to be pretty busy and stressful for folks, so a 30-day challenge may seem like too much. :)

Then we are agreed? Write live for the next month using the existing thread as a challenge spot. Sounds like the best xmas pressie evah. :cattail:

I'm not sure... I was thinking it would be good for January, but you want to try it through December? I'm good either way :)

I agree, I did my first 30/30 in January and it was a good way to work through the month although thc chapbook remains unpublished.

We have long history with stones,
you and I, dragging them across the page,
laying them to fit together, artistically or proper.

Face over the pond, glad that it is late fall,
digging ivy from between liner, earth and stone,
alone with thoughts of the oddity of their shape,
resemblance of old life, bones that never were.

The best part of all that work,
all that play to lay something that strikes a cord,
brings a smile, satisfaction with the sight of achievement
tomorrow before begining again.

Damn the end of November and I can feel a Frosty influence creeping in.

Daw ☺️ it's a snowball effect, inspiration, everyone else's stuff, plus's challenges, I love it!. And I've learned more about poetry, form, metre, feet etc on here than I ever learned at school.

Every day is a good day when I log on and see a new post in writing live.

Re: Guilty Pleasure's- Almost Lost

Had a similar experience although not in winter. We drove across S Alberta from Waterton Park to Cypress Hills and didn't fill up before leaving only to discover there were only cardlock gas stations in between. We made it on fumes - which was lucky as my partner was almost ready to kill me.

However, I don't think I'll write a poem about it.

Ku's last in the Hi Ku thread makes me remember my sig line from times ago, 'What strange machinery she has between her ears'. When I woke her up early yesterday she was on melt down. After a good sleep that day she told me it was a reboot.
>>This<< poem was written between then and now. Well done. Sure would like to see it in New Poems.
..
one of the stanza has me troubled though.

R.E.M dreams closest to that prize
do most the work
sorting trivia and trash
storing, storing, storing
on our hard drives
where subconscious functions
runs scans, fixes broken links, compresses, optimises space
..
shouldn't that be soft drives? :)

Loved it and the one after too.

♥️

Some of the best people I've had the pleasure of knowing say the same.

Thanks to you and GP for giving my muse a nudge with your poems.

And todski, your poem is powerful! I truly love how we inspire each other here.
