The ladies of lit's amateur pic 2007 calendar

I have a question on this BBW topic.

It seems that there are more and more BBW than there ever were. And my question is:

Since it has been accepted that big is beautiful and OK (and yes I do think it can be and no one should be discriminated against or put down by anyone for being large. That is just common decency.) have some women begun to quit watching that they eat properly and get appropriate amounts of exercise?

I am not talking about constantly going on diets and spending hours in the gym just to stay waif thin. That's stupid. I'm talking about healthy meals and moving around enough to burn off the calories you eat.

I tend to be attracted to women who are sized from average (I'm guessing 15 to 25 pounds over ideal weight. It might be more.) down to gently curved and thin. This is partly because I am extremely thin myself and I feel more comfortable with those women. I also like smaller breasts. Both of these preferences may have been because of the girls I dated when I was just starting. I got used to that and liked it and still do.

Let me know what you think, please. :rose:

And I would also like to know any approximate timeline on this calender thing.

I think it's obvious this is the case. Some people are bigger than others and that's a fact. I'm also a slim person, but I'm not usually attracted to the ultra-thin women. However, it seems that some people are taking this Big is Beautiful idea to mean that they can simply let themselves go and not take care of their bodies in any way.

Sure, there are some people that will never weight less than 140 pounds, but obesity does lead to a shorter and less healthy life, so it's not a good idea to say you're a beautiful person on the inside and outside when you weigh 210 pounds. You're headed for adult-onset diabetes and/or heart disease.

some thoughts

Had those ads been a hit with average American women, they'd still be in constant use. (They didn't stop the campaign because it was making money, after all!)

So, we know that those ads represented the average American woman, and we know that the ads didn't sell the product. I think it's safe to assume that even women with curves don't want to buy products sold by other women with curves. People (men and women) would rather look at slim model types.

As a person who has studied this and recently.. I have to say I disagree. It is the same issue as why David Carradine was Kane in Kung Fu.. The producers didn't think people would be interested in watching a show with a "real" asian. Similarly producers of visual media don't want to take a risk. It has much more to do with what research has determined to be 'in' than it does what people actually like in real life. For instance.. you may like nice warm woolly hat's or the color chartreuse.. But if that's not the hot thing, you won't see it on TV.
As far as the ad you are talking about. There could be any number of reasons why it featured bigger girls, from the purpose of the product itself (firming?), to the demographic they wanted to buy their stuff, to what profesional "trendspotters" told them would go over. Similarly there are as many reasons it could have gone off.. (Like their promotion budget for the product launch was gone). I don't think you can reduce it to an argument that big girls don't sell soap.

That said, (uh oh, looks like a rant)
I think it is odd that there should be this dichotomy. Girls come in verysmall, small, medium, large, extralarge & everything between. Why not call short girls SBW? or redheads RBW. I am a 'BBW' but I actually don't care for the term. I'm a woman.. call me a fat woman if you want.. call me curvy, or "that lady with the glasses" or whatever. If my body type isn't your cup of tea it is not an inferrence that I have been declared "unbeautiful". If I'm BBW I hope you also think of my slender sisters as SBW. Whether you wanna get with us or otherwise. We should all own our preferences. If you like me it's not my fault for looking some way. It's yours.. for liking me. So why lable me based on that. (Although you could argue that prefereces are genetic or something.. Still it's not about me commanding your interest.) (Which brings up a point in relation to my earlier statement about the media and only showing what's cool. Do you think the proportion of gay to straight people has changed in the last 10 years or is it just the media figuring out homosexuality on TV will now sell ad time)

So, yeah. Whether it is just this board or a conspiracy affecting the whole world. Some people like girls bigger, some smaller, some in between. The ones who like em medium to big are blessed with a board chock full of larger sized beauties, and the ones who like them small have a decent selection of smaller lovelies. What is the point of this calender anyway.. To be a representation of what you like to look at.. Or a representation of what is here. Because I'd argue that if it is about personal taste.. We would be better off making a variety of calenders Like 6 or seven.. B/c even those who like "BBW's" don't all have just the same tastes in pics. Some like more/less explicit or especially want to see tits, or faces, asses etc. If it is about the whole of the board, and the interactions and support we seem to have going on based on showing eachother what we've got.. Then we should represent more equally the shapes and styles. However.. With just 12 pics won't please everyone.. If it's going to be all digital.. Maybe a weekly calendar would be better? Or do photo collages with like 4-6 pics a month(especially b/c most of the pics up here are pretty small).

So yeah. (whew)

My First Post

Hi Everyone,

Guess I've been a "lurker" checking things out and trying to get a feel for your chat. Too bad the name "Shy Guy" has been taken. ;)

My suggestion for the calendar is to use ALL of the pics, one for each day, 365 days.

From what I have seen so far, that should NOT be a problem! :p

Ok I think it's about time we get this done.

Here's my suggestion:

  • We make a male and female calendar. I honestly don't think we should divide it up into any categories at all.
  • The pictures should be as high quality as possible, so the graphic person have something to work with
  • we need to figure out who gets what month, so they can make a themed picture if they would like that.
  • A couple of people have offered to help with the graphics. Will those members please PM me, so we can get more info out about this.

Yay :nana:
Just let me know what pics you want and where to send 'em :D
In terms of months...can we request or just be assigned them?

Yeah, what kind of pics are you looking for? What size? Content should be Lit appropriate? Just the small details. And where to send them when you know.

:D

I keep reading posts on the Fat / Thin debate and personally I'm more interested in the photo than I am with the body type. A sensual erotic photo can be arousing because of the quality and set up of the photo and not because of the body type. Personally, if this calendar is to be a representation of Literotica AmPics, I feel it should contain the type of picture that is erotic in the true sense of the word ... independant of whether it is a curvy body, a slim body or an average body.

This was a good idea, unfortunately it seems like it won't work out.

Any particular reason that you can share?
We need somebody to do the graphic work, but nobody have contacted me about doing it.

Let's get this thing going!

I’m so glad to be able to say that I’ve been approved to help with most of the graphics for the upcoming Ladies/Gents of Lit Calendar for 2007!

So, all those interested in being in it (I won’t go just by ShyGuy’s list, you’ll need to contact me this time round) please PM me and I will PM you back giving you my email so you can forward your pictures to me that way.

As far as the photos go - you may send black & white, landscape, portrait, small, large, and anything in between to me as long as the area of all the pictures total will add up to around the size of an 8.5” by 11” landscape piece of paper (I can’t be stretching the photos out too much because no need for any of this Lit sexiness to look blurry or distorted!). So you may submit 4, 6, 8, etc. small photos, or one large one, it doesn’t matter one bit to me.

I am also able to fix or alter photos upon request. Such as changing it to black and white (or a different hue for that matter - or sepia), removing dates for those digital people out there like me, cropping photos out, creating black/white backgrounds, removing blemishes, fixing red-eye and pretty much everything in between.

So all you ladies and gents that have previously signed up with ShyGuy, here’s your chance to get this thing rolling! Just PM me letting me know who you are and what calendar you wish to be in (male/female - some screen names aren’t so obvious), and I will PM you back with my confirmation and my e-mail address so you can send me your photos!

Thanks so much everyone for your cooperation and any questions you have, feel free to ask me. I won’t bite… too hard. :)

Any rules as to 2257 conditions? ie: restrictions on any naked content?

Thanks for helping.

Also...any news on who'll appear on which months...?
Just to help with photo selections ;)

Thanks to sexychik69 for stepping up to the challenge about taking care of the graphic work!! It seems like this will happen anyway.

Same rules apply as per those here on Lit. :)

I'm not so sure we're going to be doing themes, for now just submit general pics and if later we decide themes then we'll announce that. :)

I'll second that...

Erotic is erotic, body shape makes very little difference.

I look forward to seeing the results.

Volunteers?

Do you have all the pics we need for the calendar? Will volunteer a couple of shots, mouth shots and can even sub a creamy if it will help sales!

So many ladies

Well there are anywhere from 28 to 31 days in each month make the calender big enough to have a picture in each day! The more the merrier.
