WaPo LIBERAL LEANING?

Whose Kool aid are you drinking?

WaPo Fox and Gallup are the only three entities on the planet that have a Romney win projected. WaPo lives in a genteel echo chamber of right wing hill smug so strong that you have to put a mask on just to read the thing.

There is only ONE real bias in major news outlets and it's corporate bias. I could see how people MIGHT say this about the NYT or NPR (still wrong, but whatever)

If there's ONE paper that exists to make WASPS feel as comfortable as they do reading Barron's it's WaPo.

Hey, let's not diss Barrons. ;)

Sorry - I should have put a  or otherwise indicated that it's "liberal leaning" only to the Tea Party folks. Mea culpa. I was trying to be dry, and instead got drowned.

My bad I should have assumed a

There's one way they're gonna win this, and it's been done before if things are close.

Theft/purchase.

Dudes, go back and watch Michael Steele interviewed on Jon Stewart this last week. My head almost exploded.

'course you have to ask yourself why the hell he wasn't willing to say this in service to his job back THEN, but it's nice to see a robot redeem itself. Sly move on his part.

And I agree about the Ron Paul thing 100 percent.

Ye gods/desses and little fishes, political peoples are DUMB!

Russian ships displayed at DNC tribute to vets

On the last night of the Democratic National Convention, a retired Navy four-star took the stage to pay tribute to veterans. Behind him, on a giant screen, the image of four hulking warships reinforced his patriotic message.

But there was a big mistake in the stirring backdrop: those are Russian warships.

While retired Adm. John Nathman, a former commander of Fleet Forces Command, honored vets as America’s best, the ships from the Russian Federation Navy were arrayed like sentinels on the big screen above.
Yeah, there's a lot more in the article linked through the headline above, but no explanation yet. I'm sure someone will try to blame it on undercover Republicans trying to sabotage the Dems, or something stupid like that.

No one's got a monopoly on stupid. I'm thinking about how conservos loved "Born in the USA" as political fight music in the 80's.

Except maybe Paul Ryan. I'm not sure. To insist you're gonna fix everything without stating a single valid stat is either stupid or hoping everyone else is.

Back after the Sarajevo violence, a Serbian woman was talking about how horrible it was that some Bosnian men stabbed a Serb soldier to death.

When the reporter reminded her that the Serbs had just massacred 150 men and boys in that same town, she paused for a moment and then said; "Yes, but they STABBED him! TEN TIMES! Horrible!"

That's what observations like Sir Winston's remind me of. Yes, it's a dumb mistake for the dems to have made. If the GOP only made one or two dumb mistakes, not to mention malicious actions and harmful lies-- I might care a lot more about the one or three foot-in-mouth moments from the Dems.

I completely agree! I was mostly just amused, especially at the part that points out that at least one of the ships had a clearly visible marking that no U.S. ship has ever had, amid the whole fact checkers "controversy" that's been going on the past month or so...

And to compound stupidities... Romney now says Obama sympathizes with the asshats who killed the ambassador to Libya because he said that the film many people in the Mideast are protesting was inappropriate? WTF? Even Republicans are screaming at that, yet Mitt won't back down? Oy vey!

Mitt has made the inevitable mistake of all reactionaries: because he defines himself by being against whatever the President is for, Mitt has no choice but to make claims that are foolish. If the President came out with a proclamation that we should not eat yellow snow, Mitt would be right there claiming that yellow snow has remarkable nutritional properties and it's the very American thing to do to eat yellow snow.

I was actually kind of surprised to see what happened in the polls, but I think this entire cycle is demonstrating to me that insane people are just particularly loud not actually a majority.

Some astute T observations.

If Obama wins, we're ok.

If Romney wins, we're ok. It'll suck but we're OK.

If Romney wins, then dies we are so completely fucked.

Because people are all pretty stoopid, part of me thinks this was called when the Irish setter story broke.

Now, short of the dollar collapsing like a lira and having a twig based economy, I just don't see it happening.

Anything exciting happening locally?

We have two exciting nazi ballot initiatives - papers, please and let's write it into the state constitution that teh gays not marry, even though we've already got a law for that.

I have not seen ONE not ONE "vote yes on quashing the queers" lawn sign in the entire metro region, including in crazy Michelle Bachmanish Anoka territory.

I'm cautiously optimistic that our Ron Paul redstate flava is actually in favor of smaller government when it comes to the state constitution.

It's the "papers, please" thing that I worry about more.

I'm just around the corner from the Joe Walsh vs. Tammy Duckworth prize fight and it's a doozy. Walsh has the brain of a demented shrew and sometimes he even leaves it at home. The scuttlebutt is that Duckworth is going to clean his clock and I will drink heavily to celebrate his banishment from Washington. At home our congress critter is Jan Schakowsky (used to be Mark Kirk but we got redistricted into the northeast part of Chicago proper and no Republican stands a chance here) and her odds of winning are roughly 3 zillion to 1. There's almost no political news coming out of Illinois these days except the tussle between the Rahmfather and the Chicago school teachers. But that's a good one for sure.

Back again. Jigeddy-Jog.

Well, my congress critter, Debbie Wasserman Scultz, has a shifted congressional district, so I can't vote for her. I went from the 20th to the 26th.

Teesip Allen West ["95% of Demos are commies"]who actually lived in in the 20th-- DWS's district, illegally got himself elected in the 22nd. He also campaigned in full military dress-illegally, of course. He got redistricted somewhere west. All slightly confusing.

My new district -- just created -- has Lois Frankel, West Palm Beach mayor, as the Demo candidate.

Meanwhile in the Senate race, the generally hapless, Cornelius Harvey McGillicuddy IV (R), generally known as "Connie Mack" or sometimes "Half Mack" for his encounter with the damsels of Hooters, has picked up a few million campaign bucks that were diverted from the scientific genius, Todd Aiken.

Damn it's a soap opera!

Amazing how many ways Romney can find to fit his feet in his mouth...

‘‘There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what,’’ Romney is shown saying in the video of a May 17 fundraiser in Boca Raton, Fla. ‘‘There are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it.’’

Romney said in the video that his role ‘‘is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.’’

In a new clip ... released Tuesday, Romney tells the donors that Palestinians ‘‘have no interest’’ in peace with Israel and suggested that Mideast peace efforts would languish in his administration. He says Palestinians are ‘‘committed to the destruction and elimination of Israel’’ and that the prospects for a two-state solution to Mideast peace were dim.

‘‘You hope for some degree of stability, but you recognize that this is going to remain an unsolved problem...and we kick the ball down the field and hope that ultimately, somehow, something will happen and resolve it,’’ Romney said. He said pushing Israel to give up disputed territory for a two-state solution with the Palestinians ‘‘is the worst idea in the world.’’
I used to joke that the only time certain people opened their mouths was to change feet, but it seems that Romney only opens his mouth to jam yet another foot in it. The man's a centipede!

My favorite headline was from the Wonkette: "Even David Brooks thinks Mitt Romney's 47 percent comment 100 percent dickish."
