❓ PLP Inquires II ❓

A handful of those salad shrimp go really well with the pineapple on the pizza...super hot oven...

Technically...salad shrimp aren't really shrimp...at least in the way people think of shrimp. They are part of the krill that the whales eat. Newport Oregon accounts for 90% of all salad shrimp. Fuck that plant stinks...but it part of why the sea lions are there year round. Easy eating

Alright I want to hear your Food Wierdsies. What foods do you put together in weird ways? What do you eat that makes others raise an eyebrow? What do you refuse to eat that shocks people? What foods do you get creative with?
I think my weirdest food thing is that there’s food that I like mostly because it has a fun texture. Like Trader Joe’s white cheddar puffs - they’re light and crunchy but also kind of styrofoam-y, which I weirdly like.

I can’t think of any weird combinations, except maybe raw carrots with peanut butter, but I don’t think that’s really strange. The only (regularly available) food I won’t eat, so far, is broccoli.

My main one is that I put coarse ground salt on vanilla ice cream. It's so good and will elevate even the plainest vanilla.

I don't think it's weird, but I love Tabasco on my French fries.

As for refusing to eat, the list is long and mostly has to do with textures. I can't really explain it beyond that.

My weirdest food thing is I love baking decadent cakes, ones with sooo much sugar I almost get a sugar high making them. The weird part is I never eat them. Never eat anything that falls into a "junk" or "processed" foods category.
I avoid anything high in carbs like the plague but still manage to find myself gaining winter softness every year go figure 🤷‍♀️

I don't know if I call it weird...but I believe in using Boursin cheese in mashed potatoes to create variety (sometimes i want something more than butter and cream or sour cream) or in my lasagna white sauce. I also add molasses in baked beans. And I use crisco...not butter in cookies. Keep your shit cookies...my dog won't eat them why should I?

I am not a chocolate fan. So moles are out.
Boursin mashed potatoes are sublime! Cheesy creamy goodness? Get in my mouth!
Yes yes yes to Boursin cheese in mashed potatoes and in pasta dishes, SO good!!

My weirdest combinations probably come from my Persian side of the family - there is this dessert that was only made on special occasions like the Jewish new year and its grated (yes, grated) apple that is soaked in an ice batch with rose water and partially frozen so its like this slushy frozen apple treat but when I brought some to work once everyone was grossed out and said it smelled like perfume or potpourri
My Persian friend makes saffron rice with ground hamburger and oil plumped raisins. The first time I saw it I thought "nope nope nope", but it is amazing! Sometimes I crave it like crazy.

Green olives. 🤷‍♀️

As for myself, I love pickles and peanut butter. Grosses people out.

Olives are a no go. I even tried one again last night to make sure I still hated them. I do.

Ok I've heard of pickle and peanut butter but I've been too scared to try.

If you like sweet and sour candy, you'll like it. I give GGA a hard time because I love olives and they're a no go for him.

In my refrigerator, I have a deli tub of marinated black and green olives with little cubes of hard cheese. Not feta, which just crumbles, and which you can suck and dissolve into a delicious creamy mess in your mouth. But hard, big girl cheese, which you need to use your teeth to enjoy and bite until you can swallow.

You want the cheese.

You know you want the cheese.

You can't resist the cheese. You're helpless. Your fingers are twitching. You crave it. That need. You will do anything to take it in your mouth and close your eyes and taste that creamy ecstasy...

And that, kids, is why Dad is banned from Olive Garden.
^^^ deserves a NC-17 if not an R rating 😂

Whata one of your favorite things to be complimented on? Why? Is it something you actually get compliments on frequently? If not, how does it differ from what you do get compliments on?
What is the "compliment" of which you speak? We know it not on my planet.

Fresh ground black pepper on....fresh strawberries.

I will never eat Vegan again. I was at a Vegan party (all the food was vegan). I was sick for three days after. Never again.

Creative: I'll just leave this here:

Anything can be cooked on a BBQ...and its even better on a smoker (most recently: berry crumble)

My favorite thing to be complimented on is the kind person I am. That reflects on how I was brought up and how I have always tried to represent myself to my kids, so they in turn would pass it on to their kids.

I also like it when I get compliments on the job I do at work. What I do at work also says a lot about me as a person in terms of hard work and dedication to being the best I can be at something.

That's really it. And it's all that matters.

From a physical side, there really isn't a whole lot to be complimented on. There's a rumor that I have nice calves. Not sure where that started. 😂♥️

Geeky numbers guy. I see patterns, and numbers have extra meaning for me. The obvious: 69, but how many of you notice when 69 is in a post number. Recently I noticed two different people who posted in teh Oral Sex survey thread that their survey post showed that they had 69 posts. Playing online cards I will see cool number in peoples scores.

I know that sometimes people really don't care about cute number patterns. I'm a CPA, patterns in numbers let me do my job.

My face gives every thought away. Blessing because people know when not to approach, and also all the good thoughts 😁. Curse because doctors don’t like it when they know you think they’re a moron. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Our playing poker would be a hoot. We would be competing for the most obvious tell.

What's your personality trait that's a blessing and a curse? Tell us how and why it's both?

I was just talking about this...

Perfectionism - When I do something, I do it really well. If you want something done right, I'm your gal.

But if you want something done fast, I'm not your person. "Good enough" is never good enough and is often a detriment to my time and sanity.

This reminds me of the old saying - You can have something done well, fast, or cheap. Pick two, you can't have all three.
