I find myself attracted to people in professions that elicit change, hold power (I said what I said! ), artistic, or just require a lot of drive and determination.

I myself am singularly driven in my career and like when a partner can match my pace and hustle or tap into my competitive streak (keeping it friendly of course )

Past partners have all been similar to where I was professionally when I met them whether it was in the arts and they were working towards a gallery opening, or tech and having a start up, etc. all my past partners—save for one *shudders* have been extremely passionate in their fields.

So I guess for me it’s not so much what they do that turns me on, but how they do it. Professions are 9/10 things we just sort of fall into. I think it’s the core personality traits of being successful (through self definition and goal setting) that really gets me hot under the collar

Edit: I would hope it goes without saying that "success" isn't based on income or accolades but doing something well

From the time I was in high school, until I married, I dated military men. Army, Marine, Air Force...except for two foreign exchange students my freshman year of college. Even after my divorce, I've dated a guy in the Army and an EMT.

I'm not sure what this says about me. I don't think it has anything to do with a uniform, but maybe a familiarity growing up around military bases.

I do like a man who is clean and well groomed, but I think guys with tool belts are hot, too. Something about a man who can fix things, not just a parts changer, but one whose mind can solve or think of solutions. Does that make sense?

Certain professions yes.

I do notice men who tend to fix computer or point of sale machines now. Maybe that is because I slightly have picked up on the fact I have walked into a store like Walmart and seeing my man fix or install a a machine you will be checking out with after he is finished. Or the fact if you have an ATM down, yeah he could be on the other side fixing it so you can deal with your banking needs. What can I say those men are trained, problem solvers and do not like to be bothered while on the job.

Also men in a military uniform. I can't help it, I am married to one. And when I go to Fort Dix or at his unit. I can't help but stare at the men in uniform.

Fireman as a fantasy...never dated one. But in California...we LOVE firefighters. I am no exception. So I've been drawn to:

I honestly don't have one! I like people who are hard working and passionate about things but I also know that those things aren't always their professions. Sometimes a job is the thing we do to fund what we are actually passionate about.

I'm actually .... well nicely we could say I'm a nonconformist, not so nicely I could be called a bit of an asshole so because everyone loves a man in uniform or musicians or [insert cliche here] I often avoid those types out of stubbornness which is silly. I'm also less impressed by someone who thinks their job makes them better or should be an attractive thing all by itself. Aka Hey Baby I'm a Doctor Syndrome as the great Shania Twain says - that don't impress me much.

Some professions are inherently fascinating though - Are you a detective? A sex worker? An FBI negotiator? An archeologist? A PR fixer? A writer? Logistics? A zoo keeper

Hmmm. I’m not seeing a trend, other than co-workers, but that is likely more due to exposure than a sexy profession. A vet, plumber or undertaker can all be a turn-on if she’s sexy!

Other than Politician, or any (professional ((and sometimes private))) affiliation with a political party, I can’t think of a profession that would turn me off—assuming she is amazing in every way.

I do. Hairdressers. Blah blah, I hear you yawn...boring male cliché where I sit in a chair and pay a woman to take care of me and make me feel good. I’d approach it with an open mind. There is certainly a niche that can be filled using AI.

It could also help authors generate ideas and storylines that can then be incorporated into their writing. I don’t think it can, nor will it ever replace actual creative writing.

There is also the standpoint of what is something trying to get out of reading a particular story. Are you trying to explore a sexual fantasy or enjoy it as a piece of literature? AI might struggle there.

Are you just trying to use it to get off, probably pretty good for that

So, I've played around with ChatGPT to write stuff (there's a thread now, actually). It does OK writing stories, at least short ones. @Bry1313 had one that I thought was really quite good. I posted one that was kind of OK at least. They aren't "erotic" really because ChatGPT won't really do that. I can, of course, imagine that it could.

Some of the stuff that humans write is pretty derivative anyway. It's "wank fodder" and it's OK and I don't know when I'm reading it for that purpose, that I really care much about who wrote it. So I think, honestly, yeah...it could work.

From what I've seen though, a really good prompt is important, and so at the end of the day, a human has to give it direction. So maybe it's not so bad.

But I don't think it can ever really "innovate" in ways that are interesting. And I'm not sure it can really bring emotion, in ways that are as good as a human, but I could be wrong on that.

As far as an AI chat bot, you know yes, I can see that. But I don't think it can be as rewarding as really connecting with a person.

In some ways, the "trials and tributions" of a real relationship bring together the people as they overcome them. The misunderstandings, the missteps that you move past because you sense and feel something worthwhile. I can't believe the AI would really be able to do that, from the other side. I think the flaws are part of what makes perfection at the end of the day. The abililty to be flawed and have someone still want you. The ability to see past someone else's flaws and see the underlying beauty. And I'm not sure that an AI could really do that, and make me feel that.

I think AI will do a lot. Even write some good stories. Even be a good "wank" partner. But I think a lot of us here have found real people behind the screen names. I've made friends here that I cherish as much as anyone in my off-line life. And I don't think that an AI can do that. Maybe I'm naive.
And at the heart of the best relationships I've had here (one I think in particular) is a connection that I don't think an AI chat bot could do.

AI is currently at the toddler stage. Over time it's capacities will just increase. I don't doubt that, eventually, we'll have good music, good art, and good stories told primarily, if not completely, by AI.

Where it sits now, it's not good and highly derivative. The hurdle of creativity remains ahead of us.

The same holds true for the chatbot side of the picture. Eventually, it will get really good and you won't be able to tell you're e-boning a computer.

No, I have zero interest in AI. The individual is what makes something wonderful. And that is what’s lacking in AI. A picture, a story, poem, song, etc. made by a person—a flawed, spontaneous, moody, unpredictable, individual person, is the only way to get anything real.

AI is closer to what you get when a bunch of people make something—crap.
Too many chefs.
A camel is a horse designed by a committee, etc.
