๐ŸŽต Monthly Song Challenge ๐ŸŽต

I should probably pop this into the thread โ€œa litster you appreciate todayโ€ but just wanna let you know how much I appreciate this thread.

Itโ€™s a good challenge, makes you think and itโ€™s interesting to see everyoneโ€™s different musical takes on the theme.

I can also imagine itโ€™s a hell of a lot of work.

So thank you, @morelikeasong
Honestly I can honestly say I come here for the music more than the e-bangs and shit posting.

Day 15: A song with the word blue in the title or lyrics

I slept in too long to get any of the first songs that came to mind but now I get to spend my morning listening to The Corrs ๐Ÿฅฐ

The Corrs - When The Stars Go Blue (feat. Bono)
Ryan Adams cover nice.

Thanks so much @Wonderer67 ๐Ÿคฉ. This thread means a lot to me and has been a real highlight of my year honestly. Iโ€™m glad others have found enjoyment in it, too.

Seconded!
Thank you @morelikeasong!

Day 16: A song you didnโ€™t like when it first came out but has grown on you

I was a die-hard Savage Garden fan.. when they split up it broke my little adolescent heart ๐Ÿ˜ญ Then I felt betrayed when Darren immediately said he was working on a solo album; it felt like a bad break up when one side just jumps on to the next thing that comes along. I was soooo mad!

Buuut I managed to grow up a little bit, and now I really love everything from Spin to Homosexual ๐Ÿฅฐ

Darren Hayes - I Miss You

Day 16: A song you didnโ€™t like when it first came out but has grown on you

Back Of Love - Echo & The Bunnymen
i Love The Teardrop Explodes and Wah, but couldn't warm to the Bunnymen, even going to see them live, something was missing. The edgy guitar intro and the thundering drums were wonderful, until McCulloch's voice came in! I'm still not a great fan, but i have bought their records and this was probably the first one to start the thaw

Day 16: A song you didnโ€™t like when it first came out but has grown on you

This song is before my time, but I never understood why it was considered a great song and then one day I did. I just "got it." Adult maturity -- it's a good thing sometimes. It also contains one of my favorite lyrics of all time as well.

"And I need you more than I want you.
And I want you for all time."

Day 16: A song you didnโ€™t like when it first came out but has grown on you

Was not much of a fan when these guys got massive airplay in 90s but it is a pretty good song and also band is one of saddest stories in rocknroll history.

Hey Jealousy - Gin Blossoms

Day 16: A song you didnโ€™t like when it first came out but has grown on you

Save your judgments!! I started liking this song ironically and now it's in my playlist. Sometimes, you just need someone to state it as a matter of fact so there is no confusion -" I wanna do you girl!" No room for misinterpretation ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Day 15 - A song with blue in the title or lyrics
This just happens to be one of my favorite indie artists making music today, even if this clip is close to a decade old. It's one of my favorite songs of hers, and is very indicative of both the soul and the lyrical density of her music. It's unique and to see her live is to appreciate the pieces of herself Aly puts into every damn song.

Well I bled blue blood from my back last night, I was alone
Aubergine sheets on my bed now, oh no
And your blue eyes lie just like an atlas
In those sockets
Yeah, your blue eyes cry mapwater
When you're sorry
Oh so sorry, oh no

Day 16: A song you didn't like when it first came out but has grown on you
"Thrift Shop" - Macklemore
I bought it for this, but the album is surprisingly emotionally deep and introspective. I have posted several of his more serious songs here. The songs about marriage equality , being an independent artist, and his struggles with addiction are very powerful. Went in for the goofy, but I really enjoyed it.
