Day 8: A song that is a Pt 1 ot Pt2
A song in two parts, not my fault Rod chooses to sing both parts together. πŸ™„πŸ˜‰ (and possibly the most 'affected' video performance ever πŸ˜†)

Day 8: A song that is a Pt 1 or Pt 2

AJR's "Turning Out" trilogy is spread out over three albums and ...it is a ride. I am going with the first one, which is much more hopeful. I enjoy Part II, but it is a little...a lot for this early in the morning. Part III is a bounce back, but worse for it. (I am sure there will be a Part 4 that is just Jack crying over an acoustic guitar and bass drum riff.)

"You say I turned out fine
I think I'm still turning out
I hope you stick around
We're gonna figure it out
Who can I turn to now?
When I'm still turning out"

"Turning Out (Part 1)," AJR

Day 8: A song that is a Pt1 or Pt2

My mom passed away yesterday afternoon. The last 1.5 days were very difficult and trying for her. Now she is in a much better place and in no pain.

She was 95 and born in rural Indiana in a very conservative home.

Altho I would have played James Browns Payback pts 1/2, my mom was a (sort of) religious woman. So this feels much more fitting. Justin Hinds did many ska, rocksteady and reggae interpretations of many spirituals.

Justin Hinds and The Dominoes - Mighty Redeemer Pt1. (1971). Love this old scratchy version from a record.

Sorry to hear that, a great music choice. Take care.

Day 8 A Song that is a Pt 1 or Pt 2

Made for Each Other (MFEO) pt 1 - Made for Each Other pt 2 - You Can Breathe

You barely notice on the record that it's 2 different songs because of the way the thing flows together. But when the piano transition happens around 2:23, you can feel the tonal change. There's something very beautiful about these two songs and the way they fit together.
