I have questions; is there a set number of hurra's from the PM after she proclaims him king, is there protocol for such a thing ? The ringing of the church bells, is that a freestyle thing or is it a set of pre thought out chimes, I listened but couldn't hear any sort of melody :ROFLMAO: .

It is the great thing about having a Royal family... it gives everybody a patriotic, friendly focus, with none of that pesky politics getting involved! People can just celebrate together, and feel such unity as they do so! โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

Lรฆnge leve kongen!

Exactly, the thing positive take on having a monarchy is, that we do not have to vote for a president, it is not about politics - the Royals are not even allowed to vote! They are (supposed to be) as neutral as neutral can be.

They are just, the regents. Our representative family. They are our history and legacy.

Yes yes, they killed for that position.. but, people have done worse. And all in all, for better or worse - they are our monarchs. ๐Ÿ‘‘โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ

Yes, the 9 fold Hurrah is supposedly a set number.. Although.. we do not really have a specific way of doing this.

Which is interesting, as we are the oldest Kingdom (one of the oldest, or the oldest? Time to consult Dr. Google). So we have been through this a couple of times before.
- But we have a tendency to modernise things quite a lot.
(Changing the rules for succession of the crown.. before Margrethe the II, women could not inherit the throne.
Margrethe the II being just the second, in the whole history of our Kingdom to abdicate.. and, Queen Mary being the first civilian born Queen ever!)

I think..there were no melody today in the bells (I was thinking about the exact same thing, when standing there!!! โค๏ธ).. could be it was just freestyle chiming? ๐Ÿ””๐Ÿ””๐Ÿ””๐Ÿ””๐Ÿ””๐Ÿ””๐Ÿ””๐Ÿ””๐Ÿ””

Sadly, but it was cold! I did not record the canons being fired.

Since I always has a bottle of Gammel Dansk at home, I will raise a glass for the new King today when I prepare the evening food. I will miss "Dronningen" though.

I think I can answer that question. Denmark has a military salute that is three kanon shot in a row. Sweden has two kanon shots in a row. So the royal hurrah in Sweden is four times (two times two) and the Danish is nine (Three times three). And were I live we hurrah three times as a small protest that we are occupied by the Swedish. :D

Our Queen, she is still Queen just not regent Queen anymore, and your king is after all cousins. ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช - they have the same grandfather!
I am kinda in awe of that generation, Queen Elizabeth the II, Queen Margrethe the II, King Carl Gustav and King Harald.
They are/were cut from a different cloth.

But, I am sure that our new king Frederik is going to find his way.. after all, he is a part of Frรธmandskorpset, he has been on the Sirius Patruljen, he created our annual Royal Run.

He is not his mother, he is himself, unapologetic and happily himself.
... And very much a loving family father!

He and Queen Mary even decided to let their kids attend public schools. For the first time were the royal kids not homeschooled.

Time will always be changing, and the new generation will do things their way.
I am sure it will be good.

Og ja, Lรฆnge leve Kongen!! Hurra Hurra Hurra! ๐Ÿ‘‘

I've always thought that Queen Margrethe II was a very good Queen, and did a good job. She was also very much one of the people, and have been know to do her own shopping.

King Frederik is in my opinion also a very capable man. He have grown in to the position over time, and have in my opinion very much also become a man of the people. I once had him as a customer when I worked at a gas station, and he put gas into his car himself, and also came in and paid for it. That gave me respect for him.

I think this is good, they will have enough speciality in their lives - being normal kids in at least something is most probably healthy.

Would anyone have a โ€œmust see or do listโ€ for a 4:40 and a 20:20 Copenhagen layover?
Oh and a must eat.. drink list!

It all depends on how long you will be in town. But I always say Sรธerne (The Lakes) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lakes,_Copenhagen is always worth a visit. It is an oasis in the center of Copenhagen and you will find restaurants in the area as well.
Not far from there is an old traditional Danish lunch place (Lunch is called Frokost in Denmark) https://cafeogoelhalle.dk/ . I'm sorry I couldn't find this link in English, but the adress is there. Or you can eat at Torvehallerne https://torvehallernekbh.dk/ . No English here either. But they have several places to choose from at lunch time. And if you are interested in food it's just fun to walk around and look what they have to offer.

Kรธdbyen is also a part of Copenhagen that is filled with food and drinks. It's a bit south from Sรธerne.

What to eat and drink? It depends on what you like. That town is full of beer! Carlsberg and Tuborg of course, but also Mikkeller, Amager Bryghus and Braunstein are other great brands of Copenhagen.
You can always get a good steak or a Danish sandwich (Smรธrrebrรธd) when in Copenhagen.

I'm sure I've missed things, but maybe others will fill in what I've missed.

I know who I would like to see, do, eat.

Water is fine to drink, as one should stay hydrated.

It has been quite a while since I visited this thread ๐Ÿ˜

What have I been doing... Well, lots and lots of running! Until I was a dripping sweaty puddle on the floor!

Obviously, I found some time for some recreational and experimenting drawing ๐Ÿ–๏ธ

And... Well, the forest! There will always be the forest. ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฒ

Don't kill yourself with the running. But I like the picture very much! Beautiful and erotic!

I like your drawing too! It reminds of late 60's or 70's pattern. You're good!

The picture of your forrest house looks so cosy and inviting.
I'm glad to see that life is good! :)
