its all about connections...its also why neurodivergent people seem like they talk about themselves a lot. we make a connection based on what someone else was talking about and in order to connect or empathize we recall a similar story that is somehow connected to what the person was talking about or feeling. sometimes the connections only make sense to us, but they are always there....what do you mean your sick dog has nothing to do with that time i got drunk and stubbed my toe on the coffee table? of course it does.
