Ouch. Been there, I know how much that sucks. You don't need to get a new account, but if you're not willing to change your password, then I can't really think of anything you could do. And really, changing your password isn't really that tough or inconvenient. I spent about an hour one day running around to all the sites I frequent and changing all my passwords the day after one of my accounts was hacked. I was changing them all to the same password. Now, I'm not saying you absolutely have to do this, especially since you can just make the change as you visit sites periodically, but whoever hacked your account has your password. You need to change that if you want to keep the account. Sorry to put it like that, darlin', but them's the breaks.

Parents love their children, in most cases. At least, that's the conventional wisdom. More realistic wisdom states that parents have dreams for their children, and they usually don't have much wiggle room on them. If they want you to be one way, then they they expect you to be that way. Most people, parents included, don't actually want the truth. They want to ask for the truth and hear what they want to hear. Nobody likes having their covers yanked. Finding out that your child isn't the paragon of success and mental stability that you hoped they were qualifies as having your covers yanked.

It sucks, but that's the truth of it.

First off, look at how you addressed that question. Keep this in mind for later responses.

As for your question, you don't have to be mean to get a point across. Remain polite in everything you say to him. Just because the message isn't going to be fun for him to hear doesn't mean you can't be polite about it. And if it doesn't work the first few times, try pointing out that you're being polite and warn him that you don't have to be. And neither does anyone else. If he still persists, I suggest orbital strikes.

As for the person in question, there are several reasons I don't do the Nerd Thread much anymore. Some of them are people. That's all I'm saying.
