It's a cold morning here in the small New England town of Woodbury, CT. and it's only going to get colder over the next couple of days. Tomorrow night below zero... Where's spring?

Well, it's a back to work day for me today.

Never made it to the Run yesterday.

I met up with Joker at a truck stop for breakfast. It didn't take much to convince each other to head back home.

Too old, too cold, no bold......I'm sold!!!

Spent the rest of the day watching Monk reruns and scratching my legs from those damn long johns.

Good morning, everyone...

Burrrr, son of a bitch burrrr it's a crisps 4 degrees windy morning her in the small New England town of Woodbury, CT. Giving me a wind chill factor of -12 degrees. Are predicted high for the day is 15 degrees ... It's another work day today.

The guy they had driving the refrigerated truck walked off the job last week. So today and Saturday I have to train some new kid the job. Hopefully he'll stick around a little longer than a month.

Now, Blueeyes if you remember I told you I got someth'n I wanted to give you. Sent you some flurries so I would stay in your mind and that you would be thinking of me... It's good to share baby...

OK, time to get this body in gear. Want to wish one and all super Thursday...

Oh Sweet Jaded.......I do not mind sharing either, I mean that is the right thing to do..........but it is not the snow that I am wanting to share with you........ hope you have a great day, and good luck on training the new kid.....I know that can be rough going at times........and as for our weather here this morning, we are at 21, with a wind chill of 11.........I do not want to get out there in the cold but I have alot to get done today, so I guess that I really have no choice.............Keep dry and upright sweetie.............

Good evening, girls and boys....

Reporting to you from the ice covered tundra of Woodbury, CT... Son of a bitch it's fuck'n cold out. We were 20 degrees below the average for this time of the year. With the sun out it actually made it to 15 degrees this afternoon. However we where also being hit with gusts of wind to 30 mph so it was impossible to get warm outside at all. The wind has died but with the clear cloudless sky we are heading for below zero actually temperature quickly. When I got home today I got the shoes and socks of immediately. I couldn't feel my feet any more. Put on my warm slippers and I'm finally feeling comfortable again....

A heads up gang. Cover up and stay warm....

Now is when I love my king size heated water bed...

Good morning, gang...

It's Friday... Only have to put up with my shift today then my weekend starts. Yesterday I was supposed to train a kid to drive the refrigerator truck but the new kid never showed. Problem lies in the fact they don't want to pay and the truck they have isn't equipped correctly to do what has to be done. It is way to low for the loading docks and doesn't have a hydraulic tail gate. So the drive has to strong arm everything on and off the truck. A box of Montana beef ranges any where between 80 to 130 lbs each and the average order is some 25 boxes. That's a lot of weight to have to manually load on and off a truck. They want me to do the job. I told them I don't want it. I don't care what it pays. My health is more important... But they got a good deal on the useless truck...

Good morning, girls and boys...

I decided to sleep in this morning and it felt dam good... Today it's un decorate the house for from Christmas. Traditionally I leave the decorations up until after the three kings. It's a bright sunny morning here in Woodbury, CT. Understand we have a chance of reaching the low 40's here today. It will feel like a heat wave in comparison to the -12 degree Thursday morning.

I need to do some grocery shopping for myself today. I was planning on checking the bike and giving it a big hug. Tonight's supper I was planning on a nice marinated Philly cheese steak grinder which I wanted to cook the steak out on the Webber grille this evening. Cooking it out on the Webber grille will chase the reality of winter away in my mind for a little while any ways...

I happened to drive by the site where Corey's hamburger stand stood yesterday. They finally knocked down the building. Only memories of Wednesday night bike nights left there now... It was the site of the largest weekly biker's gathering (over 700 biker's recorded) held on in Connecticut. Where both american and metric bikes sat side by side and no ego problems. Never any violence. It was sad to see just a pile of rubble... It was taken down to make room for another mini mall. Just what Connecticut needs another mini mall...! Wanna bet theres a starbucks in it...!

Good morning, everyone...

It's a boring Sunday... It is a warmer than average morning. There is still snow in parts of the yard. I think I am going to get outdoors and pick up some of the downed branches in the yard from the snow storms today.

There is a bike show in Hartford at the Expo Center today. Backrest and I was there last year and it was pretty lame. I just thought I would pass along the info in case you were REALLY bored out of your mind.

Well, it's off to get the day started. I want to watch the Giants game today at noon. This is about the time my Giants self destroy them selves...

good evening all.....hope that everyone had a little warmer weather today and managed to take advantage of it...........I had to let you all know, that i did manage a ride on my bike today........now do not get me wrong, it was basically just around the neighborhood, but that was better than nothing at all...............it was nice to feel that metal between my legs once again.....put a big smile on this old girls face anyway..............

Jaded Love, I hope that you have managed to knock that cold out of your system by now..........

Believe it or not I still have a little stuffy head. But it gets less and less with each passing day. Thank you for asking...

Yesterday I did spend some time with my bike. It felt good to sit in the saddle... My hands automatically went up to the cushioned grips. Dam I was wishing it was spring already. There is way to much salt and sand on the roads around here to consider taking her out. Last thing I want to do is drop the pretty girl. To much TLC went into her....

I do envy you for just getting out in the neighborhood on your iron horse. The rush that flowed through you body as you felt something hard between your legs... Now should that urge become to great I have something hard that you may be interested feeling between your legs... It's not metal and won't rust when wet. Plus it doesn't require a battery. Oh, and I've never had anyone fall off ether...

good morning Jaded, I have to say that your offer of something hard between my legs sounds very very interesting........If I ever make it back up towards your neck of the woods again, I just may have to see if I can take you up on that offer.............and believe me, I do not plan on falling off..............

Hope that everyone has a great week..........I will be starting classes again on Wed, so I have a couple of days still left vacation time............it is already 50 here this morning, so this may actually end up being a day, that I can really take the bike out for a spin................

I really am not trying to rub that in to you all up north, but I love to ride my bike as much as what you all do.................

oh my goodness...............71 degrees here today, and I had to be working in the basement.......what a waste............but the job does have to come first.... whether I want it to or not............lololololol...........I did take about 20 minutes though, and ride my babe around the neighborhood......it was so much fun..... No work tomorrow though, and it is supposed to be another beautiful day, and if that is so............well I will be geared up and riding her down the road....it will be so nice if I can do that................

Hope you all got a round of warm, weather up your way today, and that the snow is maybe starting to melt some............I know that you all can not ride as of yet..........but everyday that goes by, is one day closer............

The hosts for this ride are Ken Gray and Chris Terry. They have meticulously planned the ride and fine-tuned it by riding it 3 times. We will be riding approximately 250 miles each day. The roads and scenery are awesome!

well now NY, I really did not mean to kick you guys when you all were down, but I did want to let you know that there are a few of us, that can still ride occassionally..............believe me, I would love to be riding that baby on a daily basis, but there is no way that I can do it with our weather either........anyway, I will try my best to not kick you all when you are down again...................<grin>.........................

They were attached to an bald eagle on top of a flagpole with an American Flag flying proudly beneath.

You Honda guys crack me up. I guess if I had a bottle of Budweiser that was one day past it's born on date I could call it vintage.

"You meet the nicest people on a Honda!"

It was the mid 60's as I flipped through a Hot Rod magazine and saw this ad showing this preppy looking guy sitting on what might have been a 90 cc red Honda with that slogan written across the top of the add. I was in High SChool and the thought of trying to start a Sportster scared the crap out of me. I would watch a few die hard bikers in front of a local bar as they went through the routeen of priming and pre-kicking the thing. Standing on the side of it so they could put their full weight into a good kick. Maybe a "POP" and puff of smoke on the first kick... Quickly flipping the wrist to keep the gas going in at the right moment. Then "BAMM!" the thing would thunder to life and shake the ground! WOW! My heart would skip a beet my legs would shake as I saw him straddle that thing and ride off hitting the gears and announcing his way across town. Yup loved it but it scared the crap out of me to try it myself....BUT, this 90cc red bike with the preppy looking kid on it? He had three college coeds standing next to him with big smiles so you know this little red bike was a chic magnet! At least that was my thoughts. I wore those pages out dreaming till a few years later when a friend asked if I wanted to pitch in to buy an old Honda Super 90. It was a piece of junk but for us it was a dream come true! Black bullet shaped tank with chrome side panels... And it was fast! We could pull wheelies and outrun all those lawn mower powered mini bikes. As far as the chics... Well lets just say we were a hit in that department to! The girls goals and ours may have been totally different but we had the big lolly pop and loved giving rides on it!
That old bike lasted for quite a few years and neither one of us admitted to our parents we owned it...Untill that one day the cop drove us home to explain why we were doing 60 mph down the street with no license , no reg , no ins, and no helmet ( no laws back then)
Wasn't till a few years later that I landed a great deal... A fine looking CB175 I "stole" from two college girls who couldn't bring I home either. That little bike ran like a charm even with my total lack of maintenance. Still every once in a while I would hear that sportster thunder up the road and my heart would always skip a beat.
I love my harley... and I doubt I'll ever ride anything else now... but I have a real soft spot in my heart for those old Honda's... Vintage? Well for me the answer is a resounding yes!
Honda worked wonders to make the motorcycle something that was accepted by the general public as something more than a "bad boy" machine.
So lets all tip three fingers of your favorite beverage ( JD for me) in tribute to those old Vintage Hondas!

...vintage is another word for old....sort of like a now "vinage" Harley I use to own that had AMF on the tank...swore me off Harleys (I am sure they make 'em better today because they couldn't make 'em any worse)

I say "vintage" because it is one day past the born date....and.....

...recently I went to a Honda shop for a tune up and they told me they couldn't do it because no one there had ever worked on one that old (it was older than the mechanics who worked there)....<true story>

I went to another shop to buy a seal and they had to look it up on micro-fish (know what that is?)...<true story>

...yup....we Honda guys drop names like vinage when we should say old....mine will be 30 next year and it will have another 15k on her by then...Jaded has a beautiful Honda that is a young 25 years old....Blueyes has a Honda that is a kid at about twenty years old....Cyikac has a Honda that will likely become an hierloom to her young niece's before it quits (if Honda's ever quit).

To me, going for a weekend ride usually involves at least two states and neither state is where I started from...last year it rolled over seven states before my weeks vacation was up...

So when you are pushing your ride past those flagpoles and you look up to those gold wings on those bald eagles that stand guard over the flag that proudly waves, don't threat, I'll tow ya...after all, my "old" G'Wing has a trailer hitch......

...you didn't throw that Bud away....did ya????
