Biker's Run..........................

Good morning, everyone...:)

Still a cold morning here in Connecticut with more white stuff heading at us....:( Christ I need spring and warm weather. With the holidays over I have gotten back into the up and coming chili cook off. This is gonna be fun...:)

Elbiscayne that is a sweet looking ride...;) When I first got my bike I was to excited about getting into the restoration. I should have gotten pictures before I started and the different stages. Guess for me it was about finding me again after being Mr. Mom for such a long time. My kids were and still are the best things that ever happened to me. But it was important to find myself again.

Want to wish one and all a great day. Ride safe, stay warm, stay dry, and keep it upright...:D

Just an ol'e bike keep'n it real and take'n it to the streets...:)

Thanks Blueeyes, thanks Jaded.

The first pic is the '96 Glide that I no longer have....may she rest in peace!
The second pic is the '02 Heritage that I now ride on the day I picked her up.
The lady on the back is my wife and best buddy of 37 years.

RESIZING PICS TO MEET FORUM REQUIREMENTS

My Lexmark printer, scanner, fax has a photo editor. It allows me to change the DPI (whatever that means) on any photo. Using DPI of 72 took both photos below 50kb. Using DPI of 175 put both photos over the requirement but cropping might have brought them back into range. Using DPI of 300 put both photos a good ways past 1MB.

The drawback of using DPI 72 is that; say one of you would save one of my pics. When you would preview the pic on Windows Picture and Fax Viewer it would appear the same size as in the forum and when you would try to zoom in the picture resolution decreases significantly.

My guess and it's a real WAG, is that DPI is digital pixels per inch, and as you increase the inches when you zoom in there's either no information to put in the blanks or the pc takes what info there is and tries to fill in the blanks...in either case the pic comes out grainy and distorted.

I hope this helps you NYWINGS. Good Luck!

Well, as I was out for the better part of 6 hours today on the bike, passing on the road may come sooner rather than later. Cold water doesn't slow me down, or put me in a car. :)

Nice Avatar Blueeyes! That's your bike? SWEEEEET!

I hear ya Biker Bo. Used to be that way myself. I'm old enough now that puttin' in the cold locks up my knees so bad that I can't unlock them to hold the old girl up when we come to a stop! Having a crash is one thing, but falling over at a stoplight is damn embarassing. I'm good to go for long hauls in the 40s, short hops in the 30s, but the 20s and below I can guaran-damn-tee you'll find my happy ass waving at you through tinted glass as you cruise by!

Have a good 'un you all.

Well, as the recipient of some knee surgery my self, I can tell you that the insulated pants from First Gear, inc, with the built in knee pads are the way to go, much better'n chaps when it gets this cold. The knee pads actually keep the knees a lot warmer...reflecting heat in.

...Hi Ya'll....

...side note......the tank is rust free and back in the frame....

Thanks for the advice on how to proceed.....

....next week, fork seal replacement....figured while I'm at it, might as well replace anything that needs replacing...:D...except for the nut behind the handle bars...

...have a verticle day....

Good morning, girls and boys...:)

It has been a very long week for me...:( Finally the weekend is here. I envy those of you still able to get out and ride. This week I don't think we ever got above 30 degrees. The nights have been in the single digits. It is current snowing here and we have picked up an inch or 2 on the ice pack...:( The roads are covered in sand and salt. Very depressing.

I would like to welcome Biker Bro. Please enjoy your stay with us and have lots of fun. This thread belongs to all that visit these pages. I wasn't sure if it would have survived when I first started it but it was people like yourself that made that possible. The intention of this thread was to keep other bikers abreast of things happening in their area and possibly find a ride'n partner...:D The New England area is pretty dead for the time being as far as events. Here it isn't as important as what you ride as getting people up and riding. Hopefully we can promote are hobby of motorcycles and safety that goes along with it. When your here your with family. You'll always be welcome here.

I hope everyone is doing fine. I have been very very busy with work. They have not been successful finding a drive so I have had to cover until they do. I pulled some muscles in my lower back, neck, and shoulders. I am get'n to ol'e for this driven shit. Planning on spending the rest of the day relaxing with a heating pad. I am working on the chili contest and tightening up in all the details.

Want to wish everyone a super great day...:D

Ride safe, stay warm, stay dry, and keep it upright...:)

Yes that is my Baby..........I am very proud of her.....the first one that I have ever owned........She is the right size for me to do all of my learning on, and getting more miles behind me.........

Bike-Bo glad that you still ride in this cold, but it is not for me....I would much rather be in my truck on the cold days that we have.......but yes, I am sure that we will pass out there somewhere one day, and maybe we will actually know it when it happens..............<grin>.......

Hope that you all are having a wonderful weekend........mine has been pretty good so far..........eye opening in some aspects, but good all the same:rose::kiss:

Good morning, girls and boys...:)

It's another chilly morning...:( Were the hell is spring. Well, today is still my extended weekend...:)

Yesterday I was able to relax with the heating pad on my back for about two hours. Then could take sitting anymore. Slapped some Bengay on the areas that hurt and got some spring cleaning in. Next weekend is Super Bowl Sunday and I have a couple of friends stop'n by to watch the game. Plus I want to place clean before ride'n season begins....:D

Sorry guys I'm not much of a cold weather rider myself. You have to wear to much clothing to enjoy ride'n. Say one guy recently in 20 degree weather riding his Harley. He had so much clothes on that I seriously believe that you could drop him from 200 feet up and he would just bounce... For me it has to be around 50 or above...;) I'm not much for clothing ask Blueeyes...

Want to wish everyone a great Monday...:D

Stay warm, stay dry, and keep it upright...:)

Good Morning all.........hope everyone is up for a great week........the temps are supposed to be up a little this week, but still not high enough for me to wrap my legs around that baby of mine and ride her.............but soon hopefully..........

Jaded, Love, you told..........I thought that was our little secret.........;)........but you are so right, neither of us like all of those clothes...........:rose::kiss:

Sunny and 40s...oh boy what a beautiful day. Been out since about 8:30, came home for some lunch and a little work, then going back out again. It's not that it's too cold to ride...It's all in how you dress. :)

...the 40's are not too bad for riding....and today was a beautiful day to roll the Earth under you...wish I could have done it..

...a side note for the nice people on thier Honda's...

A good place for inexpensive Honda parts, especially for the older bikes, is discounthondaparts.com

....I am not sure but if you own a Harley, I am not sure any cheap parts exist...

Nice site, and as one of my bikes is a Valk, it was a good find.

Good morning, everyone...:)

It's Tuesday and the start of my work week...:( I wish some rich woman would sweep me off my feet and take me away from all this...:D It's 21 degrees and I really don't wanna be outside all day today. I am starting to develop a major dislike for cold weather. Were the hell is spring?

Want to wish everyone a super great Tuesday...:D

Oh, Blueeyes I wished I knew about feeling about that tape we made together...! I would have never put it on "YouTube"...

Stay warm, stay dry, and keep it upright. Catch ya all later...:)

Jaded.......Love........please tell me that you edited the tape, and only showed my best sides in it...........as well as the best orgasms...........<evil grin>.....if you tell me that, then I just may forgive you for putting it on youtube.....

Edit... Son of a bitch I knew I was forgeting something...:(

Hey SG

If that's supposed to be bait, just want to let you know that I'm not biting.

Well, I'm up in Wisconsin now. Took a temp job offer with a telecom up here. It's below zero, with wind chills WAY BELOW zero.

The pisser is I didn't need the money as much as I needed something to do.... Idle hands and all that stuff.

Well Jaded if you aren't going to do it, I guess I will:

Damn cold here this morning, 9 below zero with wind chills at -34. Ah, it's good to be alive.....it's better to be alive and in a warm bed, but someone has to keep this country free and safe for all you Honda riders, and when it really comes down to it, I'm glad to do my part.

Good evening, girls and boys...:)

This is the middle of my work week. Being outdoors all day in the cold weather just seems to drain my energy. I would die for 40 degree days. I am so tired of 20 degree days. Where the hell is spring...

Well, I may have found another toy. I am not sure how I come across these thing. I stumbled across a 1968 2 dr VW Karmann Ghia coupe in absolute mint condition. It is not restored. Completely original looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. It has been sitting in a semi heated garage un driven since June of 2001. It hasn't been started in a long time. It is white with a dark blue interior. It has only 26 or 28 thousand original miles I couldn't get a clear view of the odometer. Yep you guessed it owned by a little ol'e lady. It has never seen rain or snow. She has to be in her mid 80's and isn't able to drive anymore. I bet I can get her to sell it to me very very reasonable...:D That way I will have both a classic bike and a classic car...:)

Well, I hope everyone has been having a good week.

Wanna wish everyone a super Thursday...:D

Stay warm, stay dry, and keep it up right...:)

Oh Elbiscayne, my buddy Joey love the fact I am GoldWing rider. Shit he wouldn't have a ride back home when his Harley breaks down on the road side! Oh an my 81 wing can blow the tin off his 85 harley. Dam did I just say that out loud... Have a great evening bro...;)

Just an ol'e biker keep'n it real and take'n it to the street...:)

I hate to admit it folks... BUT when its this cold outside those leather seats in the Buick feel real nice with the heat turned up...
I don't know any friends riding bikes with heated seats but I know its an option. I never had a problem with my butt getting cold though.
Oh Well... Just my thought for the day as I relapse into my cabin fever...
Still waiting for Blue eyes to help me with some polishing... Wax on ...

good morning guys.......hope that you all have had a real good week.....and hope that you are planning an even better weekend.........it is superbowl weekend...........I will be sitting here studying like crazy, I have my first major test in anatomy on Monday.........I will have to at least have the tv going though, so I can keep up with the score............but I hope that you all have parties to attend, and will be surrounded by many friends........

Jaded......you knew that you were supposed to edit that tape......come on now, I trusted you with that part................<grin>

NY Wings, as for cabin fever, I am having the same now..........I was stuck in this blasted house all day yestereday, and from the looks of the weather here already this morning, I am sure that I will be stuck here again today.......not to mention due to having so much homework and studying to do.........but tell me sweetie..........what would you like for me to help you polish...........<grin>....I know that right now, I could just use some nice strong arms wrapped tight around me, and then what were to come with it, well it could be real nice...... ;)

You all have a great weekend, and enjoy the game, and I will talk to you all later..............oh yes SG, thanks for the info on the site about the cheap honda parts, I have a couple of things that I need to buy for mine to make sure that she is in tip top shape for the spring......and I need all the breaks that I can get with that...............once again thanks..........

Stay upright, dry and above all stay safe guys..............:rose::kiss:

Morning Blue. Hope you and the Rebel are having a good day.

Be careful about fixing that honda rebel too much. It only requires a little attention to keep them damn hondas running forever, and they sorta grow on you. Waaay back in 85 I had a rebel...and it hung around with me for 15 years....as a second, then third, but always running bike. COuldn't part with it for mostly sentimental reasons. Never developed that with my Road king (Traded for the Valk) or my Dyna (Traded for the Road king) or my Sportster (Traded for an Autographed Junior Seau Chargers Jersey and a pack of smokes.)

See you on the road at some point this year. And yes, I'm riding up to Richmond this morning, leaving in about half an hour. Rain gear and a windshield works wonders. :)
