Morning Blue. Hope you and the Rebel are having a good day.

Be careful about fixing that honda rebel too much. It only requires a little attention to keep them damn hondas running forever, and they sorta grow on you. Waaay back in 85 I had a rebel...and it hung around with me for 15 years....as a second, then third, but always running bike. COuldn't part with it for mostly sentimental reasons. Never developed that with my Road king (Traded for the Valk) or my Dyna (Traded for the Road king) or my Sportster (Traded for an Autographed Junior Seau Chargers Jersey and a pack of smokes.)

See you on the road at some point this year. And yes, I'm riding up to Richmond this morning, leaving in about half an hour. Rain gear and a windshield works wonders.

HI the Biker Bo........The rebel and I did not do anything today.....I just decided to be real lazy today myself...............now as for the work that I am going to do to her............I just have to replace the chain and the sprockets........I have to keep her in tip top shape, so that she will take good care of me, when I have her on the road..............but she does not require much you are right about that...............hope that you had a good ride today, and did not get too wet out there................

Friday was rainy most of the day, but then around 5:00 we were riding under clear skies and on into the night. made an audible, and rode westward, Slept under stars and rode back today. Saddlebags+High tech sleeping bags=good flexibility when you finally hit a patch of good weather. Woke up a little chilly, but a hot breakfast in a hole-in-the-wall diner and all was right with the world.

BTW, I finally did come off the Rebel. Gave it to a neighbor lady who wanted to learn how to ride. She's on a 1300 VTX now, and her daughter is nowriding the 450 rebel.

Concur on the chain/sprocket changes. (Front sprocket too!)

Well, I'm up in Wisconsin now. Took a temp job offer with a telecom up here. It's below zero, with wind chills WAY BELOW zero.

The pisser is I didn't need the money as much as I needed something to do.... Idle hands and all that stuff.

...No Mr. Cayne, it wasn't bait.......that old ad campaine from decades ago didn't do as good for changing the image of bikers as Elvis riding a Honda in "the cage of death" in one of his movies, I am inpressed NYWings even remembers it...Honda's will always be a good starter bike for those who will ultimately roll the roads flat on a Harley...

Recently I learned my boss owns a Fatboy that he complains he never has time to ride....I made an offer on it so he can reclaim the space in his garage....

....was $100 too low of an offer?

........now that might be bait.........seriously, I hope to coax him out this coming spring to explore some of the roads here in the lower Hudson Valley...
...with a man like me working for him, I am sure he needs the stress relief...

Bo, I am definitely going to change the front and back sprocket.....I had an old friend tell me that would be the best to do..........he also told me to change the chain at the same time of the sprockets, so that the old would not wear the new out.............I just have to trust that he knows what he was talking about............I am sure that he does when it comes to bikes anyway.....<grin>...........

Spent the day replacing a clutch seal that was bugging me...from there I reinstalled the mufflers, rear wheel, shocks, trunk, passenger boards, fuel level sending unit, and battery box.....and only had a few left over nuts, bolts and washers...

...been a relaxing and fun day....

Good morning, girls and boys...

It was another very busy week at work. Because of the economy they have cut back on staff. Making those left to work even harder...

I had the opportunity to talk with a good customer of mine last week. She is a married doctor (a physiologist). I am not sure what her husband does if at all anymore...? I do know he is on medication with major problems. We got onto the discussion of motorcycles by accident I guess. Only to find out that her hubby has three of them in the garage. Now these people have loads of money. All three bikes were purchased in 1972. All three are European made. A BMW, a Triumph, and a Norton. None of which have been run in a very long time dure to his illness. The Norton is apart in boxes. Loving classic bikes I would die for the Norton. Actually all three...

Yesterday I got to just relax and enjoy Super Bowl Sunday. My Giants pulled through and are the 42nd Super Bowl champs... Being tired I wasn't much into a drink mode. But as usual I made way to much food. Yesterdays feast consisted of Jaded's Santa Fe salsa dip and Jaded's four alarm buffalo chicken wings. At least I have yummy left overs for the week... Not saying the wings are spicy but I couldn't feel my lips for about 2 hours after eating them.

The clock is ticking down on the New England Regional Chili Cook Off. I will spend today on the web site learning what new has been added and making final adjustments to my chili recipe. I have also registered to compete in the people's choice chili competition at the event. I have to find out if there any regulations on what you can and cannot do in that category. From why I have seen so far that category seem to be wide open. This really is a hell of a lot of work to be competitive. But my intentions is in fact to win...

It is still nasty weather here in Connecticut. The ground hog saw it's shadow this week which means 6 more weeks of winter. The temperatures are supposed to approach the 50's this week. However the roads are still covered in sand and salt. I think maybe Thursday I will take the battery over to the storage unit and at least start the bike. Then put the battery back onto the battery tender. God, I need spring bad...

Woke up Sunday Morning planning to lounge around the casa and eventually watch the Superbowl. Got a phone call about 10:00 AM, then rode over to a friend's house to help him with a bit of wrenching in the Morning...then the day turned so nice we sort of took off and ended up watching the last quarter only of the SB at another guy's house, about 100 miles away. Spent most of the day on the bike, in other words. Rode home after the game, Flopped for a few hours, and woke to another glorious day here in VA. This makes getting any work done today virtually impossible. I have decided to pack all my weekly errands into a series of forays out on the bike throughout the day, boomeranging back to take support calls and answer e-mails. Sucks to have your office and your house in the same building, don't it?

Net result of the weekend is 600+ miles split between the two bikes, Nary a drop of rain after Friday. Gotta love Virginia in Feb.

Biker-Bo kinda envious of your super bowl Sunday. Right now its about 30 degrees here and snowing... I hear ya about Virginia in Feb. But New England is breath taking for fall foilage rides...

......I was after some rust in my tank and had to dismantle the rear half of my Wing to get at it so I thought it was a good time to do maintenance on everything back there while I had it apart...<grin>...

...spring is on it's way so I will rap this fun project up and get the can of wax out for that final polishing.....hope you're thinking of doing the same soon...

Good morning, everyone...

I like the way everyone rubs their warm sunny weather into a brother that isn't as fortunate... How ever I still say that New England is still one of the most beautiful area to ride in America come the fall. The tall majestic pines, The ol'e colonial homes, ol'e barns, rocky sea coast, the beautiful multi colored leafs, the smell of fireplaces, it's pretty dam hard to beat. Everyone should experience it at least once in a life time...

However on a cold rainy day like today ya really don't want to have to be outside. Unfortunately I have to be today...

BlueEyes, congrats on the test yesterday.

To those capable of getting some saddle time in enjoy the day...

Good morning, Girls and Boys...

It's Wednesday and rain like hell. BUT, it's not more snow... That is in the prediction for Thursday and Friday. I do hope the weather guessers are wrong.

Saturday I think I am going to go over to the storage unit and get my girl started. Last year it was simply a matter installing the battery and hitting the start button. It's that Honda reliabilty... I'll wait to get it home before draining the tank. I am out of 104 octane booster anyway. Love the little extra booster it gives and the health smell from the exhaust. This year I need to register the bike. I will be working to prepare for the chili contest the rest of the weekend. The husband and wife that organize this event ride also. They both ride Indians which is cool. I have sent them a link to are little thread. So give them a big Biker's Run welcome if they show up. They are extremely busy getting the contest all together. It is going to be much larger than year. The competition is going to be brutal. I'm looking forward to it!

Watching the news this morning I am hoping no one was affected by the freak tornado that hit the South East. Not sure if it was Blueeyes that I saw whip by my windshield yesterday in the air... If it was she had a panicked look on her face. I couldn't tell what she was screaming...
