I am glad your Mother is holding her own. Each day is precious, as you know, and I am glad she is feisty and lucid. She is very fortunate to have a devoted and loving son to be so supportive of her!!

Thanks for the invite to Laconia, I know you can't due to your Mother's situation. It is o.k. I was going to go on Thurs. but weather is not promising.....That area of the state is so beautiful as you know. And Merideth is a great little place. The H-D dealership there is amazing. I got stuff there a few years back.

It's good though, that you get out on your bike locally to get away, and also ride away your troubles, if only for a few hours......nice to see she clean and dry now!!

Well, riding season is definitely here. I haven't been able to get into looking at the clutch problem with the bike. I have been busy with trying to find work in the area and boy is the job market pure shit. The price of fuel keeps climbing and the price of food is right with it. The value of the American dollar keep tumbling down ward and large American companies continue to be bought up by outside investors. Pretty soon we will all be working for foreign corporations. The pay scale will be piss poor and the profits will be returned to foreign countries. Country for sale...

China already owns most of our foreign debt in the form of Treasury bonds, bud... that's old news. Hell, the jobs you been looking at probably own their corporate allegance to a Chinese holding company.

They did to us what we did to Russia... out spent and out waited us, letting us sink to the bottom of the financial food chain due to our own perpetual overspending!

Good morning, girls and boys...

It's a beautiful morning here in Woodbury, CT. It would be a super great day for a bike ride. I am hoping I will be able to get my clutch problem straightened out soon and back up on two wheels.

I have been busy trying to find job with out much luck. The job market is brutal. I need to get out of where I am now. Working only 12 hours a week isn't hacking it. Both kid got married in the last two years and both kids provided me with grand kids in this last two years. So dear ol'e Dad's savings took a big hit. I have to get that built back up again.

I did get one lead. The town's building maintenance dude quit. So I did apply for the job. The job opening for the job will stay open until June 27th. Then they will make a decission. So Monday morning Jun 30th I will be in the selectman's office making a pain in the ass of myself.

I do hope everyone is out enjoying themselves...

Back from Rock Springs Rally...

... it sucked... it sucked so bad that we felt good about leaving. Now, if you advertise on your website and you send flyers to everybody on your mailing list... and your customers come from all around the Rocky Mountains to attend your rally, wouldn't you order enough merchandise so you could sell tee-shirts, belts, ladies accessories? Not if your Flaming Gorge Harley you wouldn't. And if you're going to sponsor a 200+ mile poker run with 5 stops in two states that starts at 9 in the morning and the last hand has to be in a 4:30 in the afternoon are you going to start in at your dealership or at a hard to find bar in a little town fifteen miles away? If you're Flaming Gorge Harley you have to. So we decided to get a tat instead of trying to figure out why FGH was trying to confuse the hell out of us... and the tat artist was no where to be found. Total miles for the trip... about 800 for two days riding. Oh, well, saved the tat money for next month.

The ride and miles was worth it, though...

Best ride I ever had through Wyoming... no wind! Usually you have to ride sideways and fight a head wind in both directions... sun and blue skies and miles hills and sage brush more than made up for the poor planning on the part of FGH. We had a great ride.

Good afternoon, Girls and Boys...

Sorry I haven't been around much. A combination of a possible town job opportunity, installing a A/C unit that wasn't really made for my wall opening, doing the laundry, and coming down with some sorta stomach bug...

I am not sure if I mention but at were I work my hours of work was cut dramatically. I have been trying to find another job but with the economy in such a shambles I haven't been able to turn up anything. I learned of a town job recently and applied. The hours are good and it's local. The job opening posting closes on June 27th. Then they will make a selection. Which means June 30th I will be on their door step making a pest out of myself. Working for the town shouldn't be a bad gig...

The landlord showed up last week with a new A/C unit for my apartment. I gave the maintence weasel here all the spec's to get another unit. The outlet is 220 volts used on commerical A/C units. The landlord showed up with a 110 volt unit. Not compatible at all. He was going to take it back and get a 220 volt unit and would return on Monday. Well, yesterday came and I hung around to make sure that he wasn't blowing smoke up my ass. He finally showed up a 4 PM. The unit was in fact a 220 volt unit. However, it was a little to small for the wall casing were my old unit mounted. I removed the old unit yesterday and had to build up the opening for the new unit. It is in and sealed correctly. I didn't want all kinds of flying/crawling creature wondering around inside the place...

This put me way behind schedule for doing my laundry. So I didn't finish that until 9 PM last night...

And I have been doing all this with a dam stomach bug. I actually took off work today because I wasn't able to get a good night sleep last night.

I hope this job opening comes through...

Yes, Boys and girls, I have acquired a 2005 Valkyrie Rune. It only had 300 miles on her when I picked her up. 1835 ccs of Flat-6 power....zoom. It and the other Valkyrie tend to growl at each other when I park them too close.

Well Jaded it looks like GMC has done it again.

I have high mileage of 25,000 miles on the chevy pickup truck and already the front Anti lock disk brake pads need to be replaced, The brake peddal has a pulse to it when I lightly put on the brakes but there is no rotor marks on the front end wheels, something tells me that the Factory OEM pads were asbestos, I will put ceramic pads back in it this time.

With anti lock brakes do I push the caliper back in with the master cylinder caps off and push the fluid back into the master cylinder or do I open the brake bleeder screws while pushing the caliper back in?

I checked out one of these rides at the dealer... what a radical front end on these bikes. How does it ride?

Power for daaaays, lots of torque with a very smooth delivery. It's a crisp, almost stiff ride but it tracks like it's on rails. The single swingarm rear suspension and trailing drag link dual pushrod front suspension make it seem very solid at speed. anything beyond a walking pace, the bike seems to shed it's weight, and though not exactly nimble, it is very maneuverable. I love it.

Put it this way...you can find 'em with low miles in the $16-18K range. They run circles around anything HD is putting out for twice as much. I just had a frioend drop big $$ on a screaming eagle ultra, and he's kicking himself. *Sigh* But I suppose once locked into the HD mindset, there's difficulty escaping. I know, I ran three consecutive HD bikes before getting the Valkyrie and kicking the Road King to the curb.

I had that mind set when about thirty years ago, when I was young, stupid and my back was just a part of my body... thirty years later apes and rigids have totally taken their toll on my body, so now comfort and distance mean a lot. I look someplace other than Milwaukee for access with my body's handicaps and limitations. But, there are clowns out there that want to keep up with the Jones, regardless of whether or not they can handle the vibrations or the lack of ergonomic realities of old age.
