Biker's Run..........................

Good Morning all and Happy Mother's Day to any Mom's who visit today!

Class was good Sassy! All done for a month now,,, so maybe I can get some riding in. Still can't get to CT for Jaded's BBQ this next weekend... but the following months aren't scheduled yet!

Thanks for the ride info Doc. Hopefully we'll be able to make one some day.

Glad you had a great visit with the family, dinny! I understand about the wanting to tell them about what you have experienced and what to watch out for,,, but I think it only goes in one ear, picks up speed, and goes out the other!

Chilly here this morning.. only 38 but supposed to be 64 later. The sun is out so that will make a huge difference.

Sounds like fun Shagly!

Have a great day all, stay safe.

Good morning, everyone... :)

First order of business is to wish VAboy. I didn't want you to feel that I snubbed you yesterday. Unfortunately this has been a too busy week with work. I could have sworn I was semi retired... Please enjoy your stay with us and have fun. When you're here your among friends. This little thread belongs to all the brothers and sisters on here. Welcome to the family... ;)

Well gang today is my weekend. Got out of work yesterday at about 4:30. Only to come home and to cut the lawn. So I finally started to make dinner at 7:00. By that time I really wasn't in the mood to eat. Just wanted to sit down and relax. I hit the sheets last night at 10:00.

Today I do need to knock off the laundry this morning. Then I am going to kick back at the patio table. Going to do my first hamburgers of the season on the charcoal grille. Plan on spending the remainder of the day in the sunshine with a couple of ice cold ones. Become one with mother nature. No phones or work.

KnightWing I'll bet there is a lot of heat coming up from that nice black top. Well buddy enjoy your riding time.

Hazeny I hope the concert was great.

Doc want to thank you for posting events up and coming in your area. Besides the friendships that we have started here on are thread it's about promoting biking.

Sassy sound like you got your small slice of heaven. I moved from Long Island to Connecticut some 35 years ago. Been out in the country to long to want the city life again. Love the smells of the country. The mountains, the trees, lakes and streams. I have bird houses and feeders all over the yard. Love watching the deers, foxes, coyotes, rabbits, butterflys, occassional black bear, moose, etc. As far as the cemetry goes their great nieghbors. Always quite... :D

Dinny it was great to hear about your trip. Sounds like over all you all had fun together. Kind of a touching story. I get pissed if I don't get to talk to my son or daughter in just two weeks. My daughter lives in TX. Unfortunately we only see one another a couple of times a year. One of these days bro I wll give ya a shout about Stugris. It has been a life long dream to party there. Nothin's better that party'n with another old soldier... ;)

Lorelei_11, I think I like the ...ya never know part the best...! Remember what happens at my place stays at my place...

Whspr, I do hope your enjoying this great weather.

Secret has to be off pedaling her ass off all over town again.

Webbo and Roze hope you enjoy you fall ride'n.

Shagster still trying to make up your mind...? The ride'n season will be over for your area soon... ;)

Ride hard, ride safe, and ride naked... :D

Morning All, Had a great time last night and had a picture taken with Buck Dharma.

NYwings they played at Northern Lights in Clifton Park.

Sassy, I'm the same way, I have old shirts that should go from concerts but I'll never part with them. The first time I saw BOC was in 76 in Utica, NY. That's when they still had the laser show which was out of this world. The feds came down on them after a couple of years and they had to stop using them. I'm still here and don't wear glasses so I guess they weren't too bad....lol.....

Everyone have a great day and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms on here!

Great Day here in Aussie, sun shine - temp about mid 20's (f) and no cold wind....just got back from an early morning ride and I think I may go for another one soon.

Why????

Hell why not :D

Happy Mom's Day to all the Biker Moms here (it was mums day yesterday here). Hope you all got what you wanted.

Its sounds absolutely wonderful where you live. I live in a city and I don't like it. I can see why you would never leave.

(smiling) Your place is like Vegas, only out in nature. Sounds just perfect to me. :)

Good morning, Gang.... :)

That weekend was way to short... :) The ol'e back need the day off. Felt good to just sit in the warm sunshine and get in a little reading. Do to a lack of response I am going to pull the May 20th cook out. Didn't make much sense to be the only one sitting at the patio table with the party hat on and noise maker.

I do hope everyone had a good weekend. I am getting excited about Super Sunday in Hartford next weekend.... :D

Want to wish everyone a super great Monday... ;)

It's off to get ready for work. Catcha all later.

Ride hard, ride safe, and ride naked... :)

Hi gang.......yes, I'm still among the living.

Some updates first. He has only been on our thread a couple times but Smuttboy told me this morning that his mom passed today. She's been ill for a long time and this was expected but still it's difficult. My heart breaks for him. {{B}} :rose: :rose:

Second - doesn't look like I'll be doing the Iowa ride. My friend, who was in the accident, isn't gonna be able to do it and I won't go without him. His health is more important than a stupid ride and there will be more rides. I miss him something awful - really can't put it down in just words. {{{{{L}}}}}

NOW, as for the rest of you. I've been missing you all too. J, Snake, KW, Webbo, Doc, Haze, Din, Shag…...........the whole lot of you…....the guys I haven't met yet and all the biker chicks here too. It's been a long time away but I'm back now - even if I don't have a bike or a ride I still luv ya all and I would still love to backrest for anyone that needs it – or anything else you need.

Well folks it looks like it is time for me to go shopping for a good crash helmet, I thought of buying a Bell helmet but there are other ones on the market, nothing like a helmet when a emergency occurs.

Good evening, everyone... :)

One day down and four more until the weekend. I am looking forward to attending Super Sunday motorcycle show this weekend... :D

This is a link to their web site:

Secret, sorry to hear about your cancellation of your cross state ride. But I understand were your head is with your riding partner down. Sometimes things do have to be a team effort. On the other hands it's good to have you back...

Shagly, perhaps it's just me man. But wouldn't you want to invest in a bike first before buying a helmet... The try of buy you buy would also dictate what style helmet would work best with your bike! Riding in your truck on public streets should be that dangerous. Unless your running down those windy country roads head butting trees...

Lorelei_11 I left the suburbs of Long Island, N.Y. some 35 years ago and it was the best decision I evey made. The current population is approx. 1300 and virtually no crime. When I'm home I never lock my door or windows. I love living surrounded by wild life, trees, stream, etc. I could handle the high rises and all that pavement. Sorry to hear of your plight. Sounds like one young lady need to find herself some country living.

Hazeny happy to hear the concert was a hit.

Webbo keep on two wheel'n... :)

Sorry your bbq didn't have enough response for you to go through with it. Yeah, I could really use some country living. Close to some city, so not in the middle of nowhere with nothing nearby. It would be so nice to walk out of my house into nature. Concrete jungle here, to many people. Lots of crime its unsafe. I feel like a rat in a maze instead of a human being.

I always wear a helmet no matter what State, country or type of motorclcle or snowmobile I am on.

Pavement can do a number on a human skull.

Hey all...I usually only lurk here....but I'm DAMNED glad to see Secret back. :D Secret, sorry about the ride, but you'll kick ass next year.
:rose: :nana: :rose: :nana: :rose:

My husband rode a Harley for years, then met me and made me a convert (I was one of those "not gettin' MY ass on a loud....ohhhh....this is nice" types). He had to sell his bike a few years ago because of some health issues, but I still perk up every time I hear one. These days, like Secret, my ass sees only bikes of the pedal type.

Anyway, hi.

Thanks chicklette......I may not have a bike other than a self-powered one but I do feel at home here. Truest and best friends. Thank you all.

Good Mornin' Everyone,

...Hate to hear 'bout your trip secret, but damn good tohave ya back postin' again, been missin' you. I know how much that ride mean't to ya, but perhaps there will be another time/place...keep your chin up woman...
...I hear ya 'bout the 4 days left this week jade, seems thats all i do anymore. count the days down, from Monday to Friday...Been busy here gettin' ready to cut hay, worked till dark last nite, gettin' the mowin' machine ready. No more rain then we been gettin', could probably cut it perty much anytime..
...Helmets are a good thing shagly, but I must admit, i enjoy a day of ridin', without the confines of a helmet.
...Welcome crvygirl, hate to hear 'bout you and the ol' man havin' to give up the 2 wheels, but good to have ya on here postin'. Don't be a lurker atall, jump in, and make yourself at home, we are all good ol' folks, who have met few strangers in our life..Just a thought, perhaps ya and the ol' man could be interested in a trike, I know a lot of folks go that route, when their knees/health get to the point they can't handle 2-wheels anymore...Just an idea, glad to have ya here with us... :)
...Keep your chin up jade, Fridays comin'... ;)
...Hope everyone has a great Tuesday....

....New asphalt is more attitude, then it is road...

Good morning, girls and boys... :)

It's Tuesday morning and the skys are a light grey overcast. Last weather report I heard is we had rain heading are way tomorrow. I need to get my tomato plants in the ground when I get home tonight before the rain. I guess its time seeing they have buds on them... :)

I am hoping that it is going to be a morning shower and clears by afternoon. I am off tomorrow and wanted to wash my GoldWing then head on down to Corey's here in town. Tomorrow night is bike night and there will be anywhere between 150 to 250 bikes there tomorrow night. That was last years counts I expect more with the interest in motorcycles because of gas prices.

Crvygirl welcome to Biker's Run. Like Secret said when your here your always among good friends. This thread belongs to all of us and that is what makes it special. Each one of us has taken the time to keep it going. Snake likes to call it his extended family. Lot of great people here. Sorry to hear about hubby's health problem and the lose of his toy. Well have fun here and enjoy your stay with us.

Lorelei_11 where I lived the big city was slowly moving outward in my direction. There were no more building lots left in my town. I knew it was time for me to make a change and did. There are times in your life ya just have to go for it. Start all over again. Ya never know until ya try... ;)

Well gang I need to get ready for work. Want to wish one and all a super great day. Catcha ya all later... ;)

Well Jaded did you say 150 to 250 bikers will be in town by you?

Is it a Hells Angels or Cycle Lords convention?

Lots of cycles for that little town in the woods.

Time to go get fuel for the truck and pay some bills.

Have a fast work week.

Good evening, everyone... :)

It is a warm 82 degree humid evening here in Woodbury. Was planning on planting my tomato plants this evening however they are saying heavy rain and high winds late tomorrow afternoon. Then is is supposed to turn sharply colder. Maybe I hold off until after the storm and see just how cold their talking about...

In response to your question Shagly. Nope no hells angels. Just a great bunch of people with the same interest in cycling. Most of which are Harleys. But there is still a lot of metric too. Hell even had a new Indian motorcycle last week. I am very surpised at the number of lady riders. Way to go gals... :) Corey's bike night is one of the favorite bike nights in Connecticut and there are quite a few of them. It is easily accessible from the parkway too. Although much like me they enjoy the windy back roads to get there. I have a strong felling that it will be called off tomorrow night with the storm coming in... :( I have a lot of fun chatting with the others at the show.

I will say Snake one of the smartest things I did was to take early retirement. The difference between retiring at 62 or retiring at 66 was $110.00 a month. I can still work but my hours for now have to be limited. I am permited to earn up to a $1000.00 a month on top of my retirement. At age 66 that limit no longer exists. I have limiteded myself to working 4 days a week. Actually tomorrow is my day off... :D Yah me... :nana:

Well gang I do hope everyone is doing well. Gonna run for now... :D

Man

Who turned on the friggin tap here???

gotta love it tho :D

woo hoo MUUUUUUUD RUUUUUUUUN

Have a good one every body

Hey gang,

...Sounds like a great evenin' jade, good food, and makin' new friends, as well as meetin' some old ones. We use to have somethin' similar here, met at the local pizza plus on Wed nites, was buffet nite.. ;) ...Was never that kinda number, mostly just us regulars, and ocassionally a few newbies, but we always had a great time...
...talked to my buddies wife last nite, said they were havin' a great time at myrtle, been down to the suk-bang-blo, and I reckon he got me some fine pics...Theres always some fine lookin' ladies, wantin' to show their 'wares'... ;)
...Been a slow nite for me here, babysittin' the gr-daughter, only time I was outta the house, was to push her in her lil' tyke swing... :) ...Not been to bad, much as I been workin' 'round here lately, I could use a few nites rest...
...Like the sound of that retirement jade, Plus ya still get to put in some time. One good thing 'bout havin' the farm, theres always somethin' to do. After workin' all my life, don't think i could just stop..
...hope ya get that bike soon shagly...gettin' to some serious ridin' time...
...Hey webb, glad to hear ya are still beatin' some saddle time in as well, guess you and Roz, are still sharin' the same 'steed'. probably too late this year to get another, but gives ya plenty of offseason to hunt for just the right bike...
...Where are ya secret?...been missin ya at every turn woman...Hope you are still training. Theres always another ride hon....But Like I have told ya, nothin', compares to a nice ride, with feet up, and Brooks-n-Dunn blastin' out the stereo....
...hope everyone has a great Hump day...

....Ride safe, but ride....

Jade, I hear you...

Retiring early cost me about $300 a month, but my VA check more than made up for that. I don't know what kind of vegetable I'd be today if I hadn't been able to retire when I did.

Anyhow, back to bikes... Everything is Sturgis for my crowd right now, and the three of us that are going on from there are being ostracized as 'retirees.' Ow, that hurts.

What ever happens on the trip, I'm going back to Austin later this year... I've never seen a busier Harley dealership than the North Austin shop right off I-35. Dropped another $112 on tee-shirts.

I'm dealing with several health issues, will be awhile with that. Then going to college. Then, we'll see what I can do about getting more out in the country. The jobs tend to be in the city though. So, just getting through things now, barely. Will see what can be done about getting out of this city in the future. Wish I wasn' there, but life sucks sometimes.

I've been missing you too babe.

Rained like crazy here today so only riding I did was on the stationery inside.
Had an interview today at my local Fire Department. Gonna start out as Data Entry/Secretary/All Around Gopher and slowly - with any luck work into Fire Inspector. If, of course, all depends on my ability to convince the City that they do, indeed, have enough money to pay me. Anyway, I'll keep you all posted.
