Too bad about he show, But it kinda worked out that you didn't go ahead with the BBQ only to have this happen to your party.
We had a crazy day here in NY. Started out with heavy rain early so taking the bike out was out of the question. By 10:30 AM the weather was looking great! Blue skies and sun! I decided to wrap my ass in fiberglass and take the Vette (the other passion)to a local car show.
Not much of a turn out there either but still some interesting cars and I got to drive mine a little.
By 3:00pm the sky changed again turning real dark with sudden wind gusts. The storm blew on us real quick to.
Now sometimes thing go right for me and I get lucky. Today was one of those days.

I was dusting off the Vette when I saw a woman trying to take a pic of the car. I was bent down by the wheel and jumped back out of the way so she could take the pic. She shook her hand and told me she wanted to take the pic with me dusting the car. I went back to dusting as she focused her camera. I enjoyed her accent and remembered the announcer welcoming some of our Canadian friends there earleir. She had a simple brown and white dress on thet buttoned up the front. She had nice legs which I noticed were nicely tan with a tattoo of a rose on her ankle. She told me to smile and just as she snapped the pic the wind blew her dress all the way up on her. She had the camera in her hands so she couldn't get to it in time. She tried running up between the cars for "cover" but I was right there and she ran up to me trying to do this. As she first ran up to me I was already in position to have full view of her white thong. Lets just say by the time she got the camera down and the dress under control I had a very up close and personal view of her ... undies. At first she said something in French but quickly corrected herself to repeat it in English. " Well we both had a show today A..." with a giggle in her voice. I must have had a huge grin on my face !

I hope the weather gets all the rain out of it's system so I can enjoy the White mountains in sunshine this year.

Even though I'm worried about safety, and would really need to know the guy is a good rider. Almost to the point of riding resume. lol Still, you're all undaunted... and so sweetly offering to take me.

I wonder what those vibrations feel like. Maybe thats why you're all so generous about it... horny woman on the back.

Man.... someone up there likes you! You had a good day. I wish I was here, but don't have those assets. I'm canadian, but I don't speak french. I can't tan, I'm snow white. My legs aren't great, and I'm to chubby to look good in a g-string.

My brother inlaw, was a body man, and he fixed and painted cars on the weekends, he had his own shop for awhile, later in life he fixed a car up from scratch, really old one, and took it to car shows.

I've always thought that was the coolest thing. To be able to do that. It was amazing how the car looked when he started them, especially that antique one. How they looked when he was finished. It was amazing. I can defiinately see why guys get so into their cars.

Actually Dinny I had a simular incident with my daughter. She meet a guy that was into drugs (usage and sales). We would get into somehell of fights. She left for about 5 years and I had no idea were she was. She had moved out to the Boulder area and was living with him. She finally came to the realization what a looser this guy was and threw his ass out onto the street. We got back together. She is now married to a GREAT guy and living in Texas. Good to here your shake down run went well...

Sound like you had a interesting day NYWings. What year Vette do you own? I had a 1967 StringRay Roadster 327 cu. in./ 365 h.p. w/a 4 spd. Also had the removeable hard top. I had to sell it when I got married. The now ex wife said it wasn't a fitting ride for a married man. I couple of years ago I did car show with a 1958 Caddy Coupe Deville. Which was lots of fun. Christ I could tell ya some storys at shows with it. Women just loved that car...

Webbo sounds like you had a good relationship with you Dad. Unfortunately kids in this country don't seem to want to be involved with there parents that much anymore. They don't seem to have that respect.

I've learned quite a bit of patience over the years, not my strong point. Canada is good, but I"m not opposed to a nice vacation road trip through the U.S on a Bike, with someone.

Lorelei, Got a big pot of chicken soup for you hun... Gotta get you back on your feet again. Now don't be so hard on yourself... I actually like the folks that don't speak French better since we were treated so rude in Old Quebec.
Now about that ride... I like to cross over in Alex Bay to ride the Queens highway around the lake on my way out to Sturgis. Maybe I'll have to swing up your way to give you a little ride. Any idea how they are about boarder crossings now? I hear you need a passport this year. I got torn down by customs a long time ago and that was not fun.

No a/c , no P/S, No P/B but when you nail the gas and the old carter AFB open up it still pushes you back in the seat and she still handles so nice in the turns. There's a lot faster cars on the road today but its fun to drive.
Bet you wish you still had that 67 today. If it was still in decent shape your talking 75,000 to 100,00 for the small block. 427's are untouchable thanks to Barrett & Jackson Auctions.

Good day to ride with leather on. Brisk in the morning but she runs so nice with the cold dense air. Got a cabin on Squam lake NH so I'm ready for Laconia! God I need my Turkey farm fix! And I adore riding the White Mountains.

I just got word they extended my nephews tour in Iraq and he voluntered to go to the front. He's a sr medic with special forces Airbourn. Our prayers are with him.

looking forward to some good weather this week while I have some time off.

The Vette's a 1964 Coupe, 300hp with m20 4 speed, Daytona Blue with dk blue int. Lacquer paint from the 80's that still shows well. Never been off the frame with 56,000 original miles. 100% orig int and everything works. No a/c , no P/S, No P/B but when you nail the gas and the old carter AFB open up it still pushes you back in the seat and she still handles so nice in the turns. Oh trust me I would love to have my ol'e vette back. However it wouldn't have been my first choice. My first choice would have been my 1967 Shelby GT350. It was 1 of only 25 built. It was factory Paxton Supercharged. I had the original bill of laden. It was a early 67 built in L.A., California. It was a dark navy metallic blue with white skunk stripes and black interior. It had a top end of 165 m.p.h.. I sold it with 23,000 miles on it. Sold it and bought the now ex wife a new Pontiac Grand Safari station wagon. My son was about to be born and we need a good car for her to get around. The car she bought from her day was a piece of shit. I meet Carrol Shelby at bridgehampton (a race track on Long Island) he was working with the Bud Moore race team. We took it out on the race track (with him driving) and I got him to actaully sign my owners manual. Today disregaurding condition as long as it's a matching number car they start at $250,000. I have a buddy that owns a 1963 Plymouth Belvedere black 2dr sedan 426R. There was only like 10 built and is a million dollar car. He won't part with it.

Actually I raced a guy with a 427 cu. in. HO coupe (with the tri carbs) I switched the carb on my 327 to the 4 barrel used on the 427. I changed the secondarys on the four barrel from vacuum to mechinals and re cut the advance on the distributer. My roadster was lighter than his coupe and I bet him... Those little 327's weren't bad at all....

Your right about the small blocks. They are lighter and handle better too.
The 67 Shelby was my favorite year. They were making kits for "Elenore" after the "gone in 60 seconds" Movie but Carol put his foot down and stopped them. They could make it a custom but when they put the Cobras and Carols name on it they crossed the line. I tried to put a pic of the vette up. Hope it works.

well i got pulled over by a cop for the first time on my bike. mesa cop actually. not for the speeding i did earlier in the evening or the stupid things i have done on my Sportster 1200. no, i was pulled over for making a left turn, and going into the right hand lane.....when there were no other people on the road. i saw his head turn and watch me from the turn lane of the west bound road at val vista and baseline. i knew he'd find some dumbass reason to pull me over.
I sat on the curb while he ran my name. sadly my propensity for beer bottle caps betrayed me. the ones from this evening and two from last night happened to be in the same pocket as my wallet. and of course...one falls out at his feet. i had two beers earlier this evening that have been long gone from my system. yet i sat there explaining our beer bottle cap table and my friend's willingness to participate in building it further. he was unamused. also i had to declare my cia boot knife, and then explain why i care for my own personal safety. so one pat down, one backpack search, and one PASSED dui test later, he left. with my boot knife sitting 6 feet away from me till he left the area.

so no ticket. it was a retarded, wasted 15 minutes of my life.

i think he just didn't like bikers....

This trip to Laramie was made with excessive haste, in fact we passed three Colorado State Troopers having breakfast in a one horse town called Livermore about fifteen miles from the Wyoming state line. We'd been averaging 80, but doing 90 coming off the grade from Ft Collins, and hit a rain squall that slowed us down a tad... thought we'd all get at least written up, but it seems the troopers didn't want to get their boots wet, so we eased up till we were sure they weren't gonna follow us and slipped out of the state for a couple of hours. When we came home they were gone... it was Sunday, they probably were having a barbeque. My two buddies were in a bigger hurry than I was on the way back and passed the century mark getting around some other traffic and another dickhead on a hog that just didn't have the ponies he thought he had. I was just cruising not taking any chances. Two of us are teatotalers, so we weren't worried about sobriety.

Mmm chicken soup. Exactly what I'd like. I have a flu and chest infection. I make it homemade. Once I do, I can't eat Campbells for a couple of months, its just gross in comparison. Have you had it homemade? Perhaps cook it yourself?


People tend to think I'm being hard on myself when I mention the things I did to you. I can get even more graphic. I don't know you well enough though. lol Its not that.... I'm just being realistic. I'm the kind of person that won't ask you if my ass looks fat in these pants. I already know my ass is fat, and I have a full length mirror, and another one, so I can examine how the pants look myself. I'll tell what I want and need, or whatever I think may be wrong. I'm straighforward. Im nice about it though, no one is perfect, and its good to let people know where you're coming from, what you love, what you need, what you'd like.

At the same time, I'm sweet, cuddly, cute, lovey dovey, kind, easy going, down to earth. I'm a great cook too. Nothing french though. I can go on and on about whats great about me. Even my looks, overall I'am attractive. Beautiful eyes, and lips, great hair. I love my cloths and dress nicely. So, theres the good and the bad and the ... kinda so, so stuff.

Gawd.. I forgot about the passports. People were waiting in lines so long here, they were sending friends to go for them. Now people are taking number so they can come back later. Yes, you need a passport, and so would I, to go back with you.

It's a beautiful morning here in Woodbury. Really hate the idea going to work today. Would much rather be out ride'n.

Ender and Dinny I really can't believe that you're both are promoting outlaw'ish behavor here on Biker's Run... I seem to remember a story about a young lad that out ran a local officer on a windy road on a modified Honda 750F in the small town of Middlebury... Yep he just left him in the dust and never was caught...

NYWings that is one super sweet looking Vette. Be proud my friend you keep her looking great. Those were the days when America built real cars...

Lorelei_11 and Doc now you have me think BBQ. I am going with the standard burger's, dogs, and chicken this coming weekend. But with all the talk of BBQ sandwiches has me thinking. I still have one container of my own BBQ sauce in the freezer. Maybe I'll get my meat guy to get me a nice pork roll and slow cook it in my smoker...

When I am in the mood I do listen to country. I prefer the rebel side of country though. Willie is one of my favs. I can handle some Charlie Daniels.

Yes until last year I lived one hour from Memphis. I must admit I am a BBQ Connesiur (even if I can't spell it). Memphis in May BBQ cookoff is the best time to be had. I have tried KC BBQ, St. Louis BBQ, New Orleans BBQ, Texas BB@, and now South Carolina BBQ and I always come back to Memphis. In my opinion it is the best.

Even tried the thing they call BBQ in the Northwest but....yuck. We had a little african american man that would drive up once every so often from Memphis and sell out of the back of his truck in the Safeway. I would load up and freeze some. Now my Native brothers and sisters up there know about smoking some food, especially salmon. That was one of my favorite dishes there. Cannot get that anywhere else without losing an arm or leg.

Have to admit though, tipping my hat to our host, Jaded I have not had any Woodbury, CT BBQ. Slow smoked hickory is the way to go in my book though.

Morning All, Looks like the temps are really going to warm up this week. I got out for a short ride last night after mowing for 3 hours or so yesterday.

Oh No... Jade!!!

Not outlawish behavior!!! In fact just the opposite. In the west, it's called defensive driving... nobody yields for a bike and they are usually doing 95 on the straight aways, including the truckers. The stretch of US 287 between Laramie and Ft Collins is one of the worst Interstate bypasses in the region. Truckers, travellers and cowboys use it like it was the Indianapolis speedway, but unlike eastern states, we don't have a lot of alternative routes we can take. On the front range you've got three major roads north to south out of the state, US 287, US 85 and I-25, all of them are overused and under maintained. East to west you have three major highways out of the state, I-70, US 50 and US 40... and for 30 percent of the distance, US 50 and I-70 are the same road. These highways carry 100 percent of the thru traffic in the state for trucking and passenger cars between the east and west destinations...hell for bikers... except for Sturgis week when this disadvantage is turned to our advantage by sheer numbers. Sanity, that I would question, but outlaw, I think not.

Some people just hate motorcyclists. Even cops. I had a cop in a one horse town tell me that if he could outlaw them he would. He followed be around for weeks until he was handing me a reckless driving ticket. Long story but a friend wrecked my bike and I was out driving it to see what, if anything, was wrong. Even had proof of it as my friends girlfriend who was on back when he was driving was on the way to be fixed up at the doc. The rear brakes kept locking on me squeeling the rear tire. Told me I should have turned around and went home the first time they locked and figured it out from the house. Simple adjustment fixed it after I had diagnosed it by riding around. It was late and NO ONE was on the rode except him and me. Asshole. Not like it was a crotch rocket or anything but a Suzuki 650 street bike. Paid for that ticket 10 times over in insurance for 7 years.

I always got stopped back in the 80's with the shovelhead chopper...that was before choppers were PC like they are now. You rode a chopper you were bad news....lol.....
