I'm hosting open stage at the Northfork Bluegrass Festival in Hotchkiss CO on the 9-11th of June. Can't ride the bike cause I'm supplying the sound system, too. One riding weekend shot to hell, but I'll make up for it in August.

Thanks, I finished taking the antibiotic, I'm only 90% better though. Going to the doctor this week and see what happens. May have to take more. At least Im feeling much better than I was. Just worn down from it all.

Sounds like you're going to be having fun. That must be some sound system you have, if its for a festival.

Morning All, Looks like it's going to be a wet Sunday here. Just as long as it stays dry in Indy and Charlotte that will work though.

Sassy, sorry to hear about your problems. As far as the neighbor thing I can relate. The parcel above me was just purchased by a family with 3 kids and they are going to build a new home. It will be about 500 feet away from me so it won't be too bad but I'm not looking forward to it. It's the last parcel so that will be it. He asked how bad the snow was...lol...last year we couldn't get in or out for 4 days! Anyhow, at least nobody can't build below me blocking the veiws of the valley.

Sound system?

Yeah... I build it with a sound engineer last year. The sound engineer is going with me to do the board... his system is a 48+ channel 100,000 watt behemoth and takes a tractor trailer to move... mine's only 16 channels and 1600 watts... we can move speakers, monitors and the whole kit in my 1-ton Dodge van. Do you record any of your songs?

Good morning, everyone...

The skies are a light overcast here in Woodbury this morning. We have a remote possibility of a thunderstorm this afternoon. I attended the semilar yesterday morning on the "Culinary use of herbs" and found it very interesting. It was also a excellent source of networking. After that I took a ride to my buddy Joey's house were we left to pick up Tommy. The three of us went for a short but very nice cruise on the bikes. It was two GoldWings and a Harley. We all played nice together... I need to cool it today I got a little sunburnt ride'n yesterday. It was beautiful riding weather. It got a little humid later in the day. I got home later in the afternoon and cooked out on the grille. I decided to sit outside and watch the sun drop bellow the mountians. It was a beautiful night so I light my Tiki torches to keep the bugs away and enjoy a star fill sky. The cool air felt good on the sunburn...

Today I am going to do the chicken cutlets out on the charcoal grille in a nice citrus Polynesian glaze. I am going to do a nice herb and garlic rice side dish, chilled cranberry sauce and I am not sure of the veggies yet. Nothing like a guy that knows his way around the kitchen AND the bedroom...

Lorelei_11 happy to hear that you are in fact getting better. Infections can be serious. If you need anything like rubbed on your chest (or other places) let me know. I can rub as fast or slow as you'd like...

Bimori sounds like you had a ride'n week this week. Even if I rode my bike to work each day it would only be 1/4 there and a 1/4 mile back... I usually just walk there!

Last but not least Sassy. I am so sorry to hear about your neighbor developing the property. When I get home at night I like a bit of privacy awayt from strangers. The great thing about living next to a cemetry is that no one is going to build on it. The cemetry is extremely old with familys and soldiers dating back to civil war time. I sorta consider myself as a sentinal. Kids seeem to have little respect for this bit of history and in the past liked to toppled the old grave markers. I keep a eye on the place. Especailly in the evening (night vision great stuff... ) and notify the local police of kids hanging out there. Now if I where living at your place I would be planting tall shrubs all a long the back properity line... Good luck on the carb problem!

I write poetry and this past year I started to write songs. I don't sing. I do hope that one day, someone does sing them. That would be great, to share that with the world, to hear someone sing my words, sing my experience. To see people relate to it, and get into.

God I seem to be on a winning streak with the weather... The predicted late afternoon showers seemed to hold off. Spent most of the day out of the direct sun to let my shoulders heal from the sunburn. I think I will be able to take another ride tomorrow. Tomorrow I will be wearing sun block. You know the stuff I should have been wearing Saturday. But then what woman doesn't love a man with a nice tan...

Enjoy the hell out of it is is the understatement of the lifetime. Cannot describe it to you all. If you can picture 400,000 bikes in a mall parking lot then that is what it was like today. Started off this morning at 430 where we served breakfast starting at 5 at the post. Then we went to Ride of the Patriots and participated in that as a group. Those 4000 bikes were a rush but just a teaser for what was to come. As we pulled into the Pentagon I was in awe let me tell you. Holy cow. Absolutely amazing. Then at noon they started firing up and if you can imagine it takes many hours to get that many bikes out of a parking lot and down the road. Hour after hour of a streaming line of bikes and on to the wall. WOW. Absolutely amazing. Now there were ups and downs as is life but I am telling you folks you gotta do this thing at least once in life.

Well there is a destination. The destination is the ride to the Vietnam Veteran's memorial, The Wall, from the Pentagon. However, that is only half a day or so of the ride and the activities. The rest of the weekend is celebrations and parties all over DC.

...Been perty busy here for the last week or so, ya stay away for a few days, and it takes a long time to get caught back up. I have finished all my hay, and hope to get it hauled outta the fields, and into the barn today. Been hot, and I am burn't up..

...Didja fire up the grill jade, sounds like ya were layin' out a pert-fair spread yourself, always good to grill out, kik back with a good 'stiff' drink, and let the cares of the day melt away. We haven't tried any of your recipes yet, but the ol' woman said they sure do sound good, maybe soon.

Good to hear ya are back on the bike, and heres hopin' ya have the truck lined out by now as well. ...I kinda know what ya been thru with the cold/infection lori, I had it a week or so ago, luckily my daughter, whos a nurse, had some penicillin she gave me, and after a week, it kicked it, I went for a week or longer, thinkin' it was allergies, till I finally got to feelin' so bad,had to do somethin'....Hope you're feelin' better.

Memorial Day, May 28th, 2007

Good morning, everyone...

It's the start of a quiet day here in Woodbury, CT. It rained here late last night and the cloudy cover hasn't burnt off yet. The weather prediction for today is partly cloudy. Very fitting for the day. Being a ol'e Nam Vet it will be a day of sadness. My mind will reflect on good friends that didn't return. For many years I could see their faces clearly now they are fading but never forgotten. Those were days of pain and death surrounding you every ware...

To the powers to be (that's a funny), before you decide to jump into another war you should sit down and talk with a soldier. I am not talking about a general that sat back behind the lines and crunched numbers. Talk to the grunt that is out on the front line. The guy or gal that is hungry, cold (or hot), and exhausted. Get to know their emotions after watching a best friend die in their arms that morning. Let them get into your head.

To all the wonderful young men and women serving in are Armed Forces today I offer my thanks. You are todays true heros. May God watch over you and protect you. May you return home soon to your friends and familys. We want you back with us...

This is just the rambling of a ol'e soldier. I will be out in the saddle today to clear my mind. I want to wish everyone a great Memorial Day. If you should see a soldier today go up and thank him or her... They are todays true heros...!

Doc sounds like your weekend was the most exciting. I would still have had to break off formation as it reached the Wall. Like I said the Wall scares the hell out of me. To many names on the Wall that I know. I would be scared I'd find my name on it.

Yes it was a great weekend. You can do Thunder and not visit The Wall. No breaking ranks necessary. The Wall, to my surprise, is kind of tucked in the overall park. It is an actual wall and is built into the landscape. The run does not and cannot go right up to it as it is about 3-400 yards from the road. While you can see it if you know what you are looking for, it is pretty unobtrusive. Don't worry bro, my dad is the same way. He does not want to come see it. Too many memories there written on that wall.

Make plans for next year and you will see. I will host ya while you are down. I am sure you could hook up with a group headed this way from the NE. Next year my Legion Post is gonna do it up right if I have anything to do with it. We hosted probably 500 this weekend. However, next year we are getting a band and throw a big ol' party.

You're right about the wall...

Doc, but it was hidden a lot better before they put up the bronze statue as you walk out the southeast end. When I was in DC in '96 I made a point of walking the mall to find the memorial and traced a name for one of my friends in CA, and found the name of one of my buds from tech school who'd gone direct duty Vietnam from Wichita Falls, TX where'd we'd been in Medic school together. I looked at all those names around his and just cried my eyes out on the spot... and damned if the government has learned anything since then.

Spent eleven hours in the saddle this Sunday with two good buds putting to Canon City and Pueblo, CO... rode out a thunder shower with lighting striking the highway on both sides of us... took cover under an underpass when their Harleys started hydroplaning... my dresser is too frigging heavy and my leathers kept me dry. Got back to my buddy's house in south Denver at 11 PM and spent the night... note to self: at 54 night vision sucks. 400+ miles that day and no saddle sores... I'm ready for Sturgis.

The "Wall" ride is something I'd like to see some day. Many of my acquaintances have been there, but I haven't yet. Someday,,,,

Just got back from 5 days on the bike. Went to Tennessee to see the kids/grandkids. Got up early in the mornings and rode till about 10 am and then played with the kids. Did the usual,, Deal's Gap. That's just a lot of hard work to ride with speed!!! But adrenaline pumping! Made it home yesterday,,, 588 miles in 10 hours. only about an hour of rain!!!! Great weekend.

Thanks to all the veterans here and who read this. Without you we wouldn't be able to do all the things we do. You are greatly appreciated. Hugs to you all.

I'm feeling about 90% better. Its complicated for me. I haven't been able to take an antibiotic. I'm allergic to penicillin, and sulfa drugs. Sulfa drugs are easier on your stomach, and I need that, I'm sensitive to all medications and experience side effects. So, my Dr put me on a childrens antibiotic. I became very sick with side effects, nausea, dizziness. Had to stop taking it in 2 days, wait couple of days and go back to see her. She put me on a half dosage for 10 days. Half the side effects, which I just suffered through with the flu and infection. I'm only 90% better, need to go and see here again. I was just getting over a flu, when I was put on Blood pressure meds, which lower the imune system, and thats how I got the chest infection. Its been a long time that I haven't been feeling well.

I've seen bikers roll through town before, they used to come to kelowna every year for the bluegrass festival, when I was a kid and through to teenager. Its very loud.

I see there are several military veterans here. I just wanted to say thanks. I'm canadian, but I still very much appreciate all those that go to war, to keep us safe.

I feel half American. I mean, I was raised on American t.v. Shows set in places all over your country, and familiar with all the t.v personalities from there. Also being so close to America.

There either was no canadian broadcasting, or... it really, really sucked!

I've always felt half American.

Tomorrow is my day off and they are saying that it is going to be a hot and humid day. I think I am going to wash the bike off and wax it under the shade of a nice pine tree in the yard. Tomorrow being Wednesday Coreys will have there bike show. Think I gonna cruise down tomorrow night and hang out with the bro's. I am not sure if my backrest in training is gonna wanna go. I'll have to call her later. Yeah I know what's a ol'e fuck like me doing playing with a 20 yo hot hard body... Just that sexy little half naked red head looks so dam good on that back seat of my bike. Especially when we pull out and she has her arms around why waste and that pretty face resting on my back... Let me tell ya it gives me one hell of a ego rush seeing the other guys staring and drooling...

Hmmm that has to qualify me for the dirty ol'e bastard award...

Well not sure what I'm doing this evening. So I will wish everybody a great evening if I don't come back on...
