Before I had an account and therefore before I started writing in '23, I remember reading stories and the comments and seeing comments complaining about an author for NOT having condoms used in the story, because they were promoting unsafe sex.

There was a guy on this site a few years back who was a self-appointed condom sheriff - not because he wanted to promote safe sex or didn't believe in contraception - but to remind authors who had condoms in their story that this was fantasy-land in which there were no dangers of STI's or unplanned pregnancy, and therefore that condoms should not be included in this story nor any others.

Proof that you can’t make everyone happy all the time. Best to ignore these type of comments and write what you want to.

IMO, at that point it's not really an erotic story anymore; it's a story that involves sex and the complications and consequences about it and probably will provide little or no inspiration for masturbating.

I got an anonymous comment yesterday that my MMC must have stamina issues since my characters only had sex once and then *gasp* fell asleep! Do...people not do this IRL anymore?

Not sure people are that. Having 5 five times in a row in one scene versus having sex 5 times in 5 different scenes?
Give me the later. Much more interesting and deep story as the writer will not write the same scene 5 times in a row.
I like my FMC and MMC to have issues, not being automatic porn stars (unless I write a scene stroker).
The emotional issues and connection that can result are great story points in my opinion

I mentioned in the original post that that list is probably older than many members on here and yet it's still just as relevant in today as it was then.
