Comments That Make Your Day

I made a conscious decision today to post on here, I've been submitting for a while but a bit shy of posting for whatever reason. So, hello everyone :)

I'm not usually one to 'blow my own trumpet' (much as I wish I could ). But this snippet from a comment on one of my older submissions does give me a little glow of pride:

It’s frustratingly rare to see Authors on this site with actual writing talent. It’s hard to believe that such a ridiculously smutty story could be written so well.
I haven't read any of your works, but your commentator is clearly not looking in the right places as there are plenty of fantastic authors here. Moreover, their writing skills have erotically lead me through topics that wouldn't be my first choice as the portrayal of the characters' enjoyment of their interaction is what it is about, not how that is achieved per se. Now I tend, having found a good author, to read their whole output even when a story is listed under a topic I wouldn't have picked.

He does love taking his swipes like the backhanded compliment he gave me posted a few days ago. It's interesting because he's there every day and reads hundreds of stories. Hardly a disinterested party. He should come out of the closet!

I like your thinking! 😁
My latest story "Unique Rewards of Yoga" went public in Loving Wives on the 15th. "Wife has extra fun with her late-night yoga class." It currently has over 17K views, and 237 votes for a 3.0 average rate (up from it's initial less than 2.5 on the first morning.)

The reactions are AMAZING and enlightening.

One comment from a regular LW critic:

Lifestyle, who is a reasonably competent author, has fallen into the bottom rank of LW writers with this messed up cuck piece of shit. Worst thing he’s ever written, and that’s a low bar.

Wow! I can duck under some VERY low bars!

There are some comments from anonymous who actually think swingers and sharing means a "one-to-one" number counting, that if a husband fucks another woman, then the wife can ONLY fuck one other guy and no more, or it's not fair!

I'm already working on the "prequel" with the wife's POV of the situation! (Hoping to be done and publish in a week or two.)
My view is that the story is fiction and is the world created by the Author and so her/his rules apply. Once you disavow the rules of monogamy then the rules of how many men and women are involved in a sex act are down to those the author sets. Clearly if it takes place in a 'couples only' swinger's club then the chance that you would have MMMMMF are low, but if it's in a club where single men and women can join then who knows.

In the story "Unique Rewards of Yoga", one of the two comments which tried to put quantities on sharing is:

Wow even for a "lifestyle" story this story is one sided. As I understand it swinging and sharing is an equal thing. The husband fucks 20 women the wife fucks 20 men or 10 women and 10 men either way the word "sharing" is important, getting gang fucked multiple times without prior consent from the man she apparently loves is wrong on many levels and even a seasoned swinger would divorce the bitch. However this writer excels in cuck and narcissistic female characters that always gets fucked way more than the male characters 1☆
******

Can you believe this? So, if the husband can not longer fuck at all, the wife is also required to give up all sex.

I wonder if that includes masturbation, if the husband can't get it up at all?
"No, bitch! You can't masturbate anymore because I can't! And I'll divorce you if I catch you doing it to yourself!"

LOL. What wackos.

Readers aren't required to get the subtle subtext or even the not-s-subtle impotence of the husband. After all, for some of them, any woman in a story is a whore.

…it's a perfect emotional rollercoaster! I was in tears!

Of all the feedback I’ve had, this meant the most as the story I wrote meant a lot to me, being based on a true experience.

I am very grateful to that comment which made my day.

Nice comment this morning on Homeless:

A very sweet, feel good story. The pacing felt a little rushed with the result that things fell into place a bit too neatly. I like that Julie moved in with Royce very quickly but maybe the awareness of falling in love could have taken a little longer? It might have been entertaining for Royce’s mother to meet Julie and Emma for Christmas before their open confessions of love? ( So that she could set him straight, lol)

Finally, too many exclamation points.

None of my comments should be taken as strong criticism. I definitely enjoyed it, and I will be reading Hidden Boss.
Now, I must admit I've examined my stories for a lot of issues but too many exclamation marks? That isn't one of them. I checked and I had something like 102 in 12700 words. Reading through the first 2500 words or so showed every exclamation mark was appropriate??? I must admit to being puzzled. And really, who would count?

Most of the comments on my latest chapter to an ongoing series have been great and made my day. This comment has honestly made my week after putting in a lot of work writing and rewriting before publishing:

From Anonymous: "Goddamn it this is so effing good. Love the emerging dynamics between... well, basically everybody. Pitch perfect characterization across the board, good drama, character arcs, dialog. Damn fine harem lit, this. Gratz, thank you, never stop".

And similar from Heretic_666: "Honestly, it's another level. I'm enjoying the series a lot. It's getting hot and the story is evolving. Sex is steamy from the start but the story is getting better and better. If you ever publish it as a book, I will buy it. Really amazing work and maybe the best series on literotica right Now."

Having fans of the work makes the hours spent writing, rewriting, and editing worth the effort.

Just got this on one of my story from November last year. The Breaking of Alex Hughes (not Huges as published 🤐)
by AnsleyGS74 "I thought it was a good start."
Not quite sure about the past tense unless he means that having read more it wasn't a good start!? Or he is commenint on the 4.28 rating. Hope he enjoys the rest of the 'Much Ado About Alex' prequel.

I got this one last year from @AmberSolis on one of my NC/R stories:
Good Heavens! Did you just describe the birthing process in the most incredibly compelling way? Hell YES, you did!
Considering how unerotic the birthing process is in real life, this compliment unironically made my day.

Thank you, Amber!

From my latest: Summer to Remember. Thanks Chr0nicBi0hazard

I lost count of how many times I cried reading this.
Thanks!
I was worried about Leslie after the BDSM shoot, too invested in your character I suppose. I like how you handled that part of the story. It was hard to read, because I wanted her to have her first time with Tony. But a good story has some conflict, some resolution, a love story, and some self discovery.
Keep writing, and I'll keep reading them.

"too invested in your character I suppose" best line in a comment ever... :)

I logged in and got these two comments: the first on She's a Bully (which I'm not sure about at all) and the second on The Leopard's Spots.

Despite not being sure about his actual feelings (he seems conflicted), I think Mr. Anon enjoyed the story.

I haven't been able to do any writing recently due to family and work obligations but it was really nice to wake up to not one but four extremely nice comments on my works by three members and an Anon. The one I'll highlight is on Christmas Past, Christmas Present Ch. 02:

twmatthews wrote:

What a terrific and emotional story. I have to remember not to read these beautifully painted stories during allergy season because my eyes were watering. Five stars.

I hadn't looked at that story in quite a while so I quickly browsed through the first page and recalled what the commenter meant (and they were kind enough not to mention a bone-headed name swap at one point!). It was my highest rated story for well over two until it was voted down a bit.

Nice comment this morning on Hidden Boss:

Very much enjoyed the story. 4 stars because I’m personally not a fan of such exaggerated villains. Chris’s reveal that he was “the lost Chris” was one of the best moments of the story, in my opinion.

Yeah, that hits the spot:

I haven't read a story on this site that kept my attention like that for a long time and I wanted to express my appreciation for your writing. It was brilliant, heartfelt and you are very skilled. I really felt Jason's admiration for Tina and her ethereal qualities. Admittedly I don't often feel a connection to writing or characters, but your writing made it so easy and that's one of the best feelings in the world for me, being able to immerse myself into someone's narrative and experience it without anything in the way.
From another author on Pictures of Her.

Morbidromantic
I'm really invested in this story. I like that cheating is seen like something wrong. I'm looking forward to "see" the confrontation with his wife when she presumably will recite the cheater bible: "it's only sex, I only love you,.." and I hope she will get what she deserves: losing her marriage. I'd be disappointed if there were reconciliation.

got that 8 hours ago. on my Company Woe and Rebirth story part 2. this made my day since I haven't gotten many comments on it. was thinking the story was dead to readers, this right here made me want to continue it.

Self-promotion: always a pleasure and not always a guilty one. I got this anonymous one for the recent Trucker Mom.

"I enjoyed your story. I thought the picture you painted of Marion was especially vivid. I appreciated how Marion looks like someone I'd see at the grocery store, as opposed to someone out of a porn vid. You've got a clear and straightforward writing style, which I think is an unsung gift. By the by, you gained an instant fan at the unexpected mention of Townes Van Zandt. You've also introduced me to Molly Tuttle (in a different post of yours), an artist entirely new to me, and pretty damned astonishing. Thanks for that!"

Got some lovely comments a couple of days ago on my final chapter of Eve & Lucy. This one in particular
1713706091180.png
made me feel "okay, I think I nailed it."

That's what made this comment stand out amongst others that basically expressed the same sentiments. The double entendre is right up my alley as a writer.

This from an author (FreyaGersemi) that I follow and she follows back on my 1x: story 'I Stepped off the Train - Missing'*
"Another wonderful story, AlexFourways!! Life can seem so full of sorrow and strife and missed opportunities, but hopefully, everyone can find a happy ending for themselves!! 5 stars!!!"

First day (14 hrs and 1100 views 4.42/33) Has been up to 4.86 and down to 4.10 (either lots of 3's or some 1's) and was briefly [ HOT ]. Just wish some of those rating 3 and below would tell me what I have done wrong so I can avoid it in the future.
*I know the lyric is "I Step off..." but too late to edit it now!
